 It had been a long time since he came to live with his father's herd, Dreamer's Glass. It seemed like the right place for the pigheaded stallion, but as of late been wondering of his linage. He had heard of the abilities that they possessed and wanted to know more, having grown up away from home, his father and other family members.
Apocalypse wandered close to the center of his herd lands looking for the leader. He had heard she was an imposing figure and held high praise over the herd that was full of her own family members, Apoc being one of her Grandchildren. Stopping by a stream that ran through the herdlands, he dipped his head to drink. Wondering just where he could find Helki, he had questions to ask and much to learn.

Helki stood in the middle of a lovely meadow that was small and perfectly round. The trees the circled around it where uniformed with white bark and silvery green leaves that hung down like willows. The grass was lush and flowers bloomed here and there. The sun was out today and clouds floated in white fluffy contentment, a gentle breeze pushing them past and keeping the day from being horribly hot.
She stretched out her wings and slowly tilted her head back in a stretch. She held the pose, slowly counting in her head. Then she slowly released and brought her head back up. The sun glinted off her crystalline antlers, sending thousands of tiny rainbows dancing around the meadow. It was peaceful here, at the center of her little world, her herd, her family. Today, she needed to shift and relish the freedom and joy her beast form gave her, the strength and power too. It's what helped her keep the peace in this hidden valley, what protected her family.
Suddenly, Helki shook herself and her body shimmered, changed, and grew. Her wings became larger, her tail stayed mostly the same but grew, her hooves became paws ending in claws, her head grew large and filled with sharper teeth, her horse's hair coat changed into a furry pelt. The change was fairly quick and painless. And with the joy in her heart, she gave a might roar.

Leaving his place at the stream, the young stallion headed farther into the heard lands seeking out his Grandmother. While he took the most of his mother, Athena, side of the family. He had inherited powers he had no teachings of. Coming to the small meadow, he was going to pass it by, but something stood within it. The creature was taller than he was and bore four wings. Opening his mouth to say something, something that would get him into trouble. His jaw soon dropped as the mare started changing in shape. First the wings changed, the hooves to paws. Shaking his head, he didn't know what he was seeing. The roar at the end was something that made him shrink back.
"Grandmother Helki?" Apocalypse asked as he edged around the meadow, slowly coming closer. He didn't know if he should be afraid of this, monster, or in awe of it.
Was this his heritage?

The creature swung it's head around and looked upon Apocalypse. Her eyes took him in and placed him as the son of one of her sons from her first litter. She looked deeper and decided it was Aries' son. This grandchild she did not know well. He had come and joined the family herd at some point. At this point, her progeny was great and many and even she had a hard time keeping track of them spread out or within. But she felt joy when they decided to seek her out. A smile crossed her face and then she realized that she was in her sidron form.
"Yes? You must be a son of Aries....Come closer. I'll not hurt you."

It spoke, to him. Apocalypse didn't know if he could move his hooves as they stuck planted to the ground. Ears twisting back, head lowering some, the stallion moved closer to the creature that had spoken. One part of his mind was racing to get away from this thing that was his grandmother. To forget about what he had once heard and just live alone. What stood before him, scared the wits out of Apocalypse.
"My name is Apocalypse." he muttered as he drew as close as he so dared. Looking up a bit, he just stared. "I... I was once told that I bore your linage... With..." he waved a hoof at Helki's form. "Well, whatever you are."
He didn't know how to describe it. He didn't even know what it was called! But watching his grandmother transform into this creature made me wish he wasn't. At least just a little bit anyways. He wondered how it felt to change shape, size and what ever else comes with it. He was just also afraid of what might happen behind the scenes, mainly to his mind. Not that there wasn't things he wished to improve. He just didn't want to lose himself within the change,,

Helki tilted her head at him as she could smell the whirling of emotions and feelings coming off him. She chuckled softly and grinned which exposed the many sharp teeth this form had but also the flat teeth used to grab and tear vegetation.
"I am a sidron alcor. This form is called a sidron. We are the children born of a dying star. We are not to be feared except by our enemies. It can be alarming to those not use to this form but it is quite freeing, more so than our equine form is."
She sat on her haunches and raised her front paws up so Apocalypse could see how her hooves are paws with four toes and a long thumb. She then flexed and curled them to show that she could now grip and manipulate items. To further demonstrate she carefully plucked a flower with one paw and held it out to him before tucking it into his mane.
