They've changed alot of things, I wouldn't be surpised if they did a quick update for all of the codex's, but so far it's awesome, it includes most of the special rules throught out the codexes.

I got my book, and I've read through most of it. A lot of little changes, and a few really, really big ones. I've had a small game to test things out, but not a whole lot of the changes came up over the course of the game. However, it being a really small game (750 points), not a whole lot of variety was on the table, and we didn't get a chance to try out some of the more unique situations.
I will say, though, that I love the Challenge system. My Captain got a trait on warlord tables that gave me an additional Victory Point for killing someone in a challenge. As a result, I threw him at every squad of Chaos Space Marines I could see. I swear with the Emperor as my witness that my warlord punched every. Single. Enemy. Character. To. Death.
Anyway, I'm still getting a feel on the rules, and on Monday, I'm having an Apocalypse match to try to get as many strange scenarios to pop up as possible. And, with 4000 points on each side, with two very different armies fighting, they will. It's going to be a learning experience for both of us, and I think it's going to be a lot of fun.

At least they nerfed the Cheese knights some, but I feel that they've boned Orks in the a** with random assault distance (they're no longer guaranteed a charge within 6" through open terrain), overwatch (a lot of weapons punch through 6+ armor), the change to furious charge (no more initiative boost, though they still can get shot up), the fact that Wyrdboyz aren't given the buffs that the rest of the psykers get, and the change to Fleet (totally nerfs Power of the Waaaaaagh!).
Though I actually understand the change to the wound allocation rules...

Got my Gamer's Edition two days ago, well worth it. Nice, big hefty book, lovely dice tin (not that enamoured with the servo skull dice holders) and that bag, excellent! Only pity being that the bag is just big enough to shove in a rulebook, codex, templates and dice, sadly not wide enough to allow for an Imperial Armour book to be thrown in as well. Guess I'll just take scans along then, however, to compensate I will be bringing along the Uplifting Primer and Munitorum Manual, fine additions to this bag.

remember overwatch works both ways, and orks lose only 1 bs... while 30 shoota boyz or 10 burna boyz snap-firing can do some considerable damage...

Van Evok remember overwatch works both ways, and orks lose only 1 bs... while 30 shoota boyz or 10 burna boyz snap-firing can do some considerable damage... Ehhhh, I doubt it. Unless you are using loaded dice. Especially when dealing with any of the many 3+ armour save armies out there, minimal threat really. Say you roll 60 dice, about 8 hit. Roll to wound, three do so, now do that 3+ save, maybe one botches it. Crap, I'm doing math hammer now, but with actual dice. I need bigger hands for these dice amounts. burning_eyes

I went into my local shop only expecting to get a copy of 6th Edition and some Psycher cards and walked out with the Gamers Edition. For once the Gods of Gaming were smiling on me. That Munitorium satchel rocks, but the dice box and the box for the Psycher cards could be better made.

Jeebus, space marines really got abit better on this edition. Bolters fire betterly? tacticals with heavy bolter walk and shoot? snap-shotting Predator Destructor? T5 bikes? Indestructible terminators!?!?!
Give DA´s some army special rules and I´ll be a happy space marine. 4laugh
