Sirpa's tail swished back and forth, forcing air to go over her. Today was an especially hot day, even with the shade from the trees around her little pool of water. It was the kind of heat that soaked into the ground and just sat. She panted, tongue hanging out of her mouth in order to cool off. Guess today would also be one of the rare days that she got of her lazy butt to do something. With a loud grunt that dramatized the effort she put into the motion, she rolled over into the water. Her entire body became submerged within the cool, clear depths of her pool. She broke the surface with a content sigh while moving her paws to keep herself afloat.

Arachne, on the other hand, thought it was a beautiful day. The sun was out and the day seemed very nice. It wasn't too hot for her, nor too cold. Almost perfect, almost. She was missing a certain someone for it to be perfect. She sighed and didn't want to think about it. She moved on looking for something, anything. In the distance it looked like trees, more trees than normal in a spot. It spoke to her, said water was near. She started to walk quicker towards it.
She wasn't really that thirsty, but now that her mind was on water, her mouth became dry. She felt like she hadn't had a nice cool drink in years, which wasn't true. Just this morning she had found a quite nice stream. Though, she wasn't one to get too wet. She didn't like the water too much. Before she could realize it, she was past the trees and her toes were touching the water. And before she could realize it, she was face to face with a wet lioness... Who happened to still be floating in the water.
It shocked her, which caused her to forget about the fact her mouth was dry. She'd never seen another lion in water. Though, she really didn't know many lions. She sat there in surprise, staring. More of the fact that she wasn't alone, that there was a lion in the water.

Sirpa had been concentrating on floating and enjoying the cool water. So she hadn't seen the other lioness till the white female was nearly face to face with her. She blinked up lazily, not bothering to smile. Usually she didn't mind other animals coming near her water but predators slightly bothered her. Some liked to fight over water for some reason.
Her voice drawled out as she asked, "I hope your not planning to fight with me because I'd really rather not waste my energy on that." She continued to swim around the pool, her eyes half-lidded yet focused on the other lioness. Just because she was lazy didn't mean she wouldn't defend the only thing she ever really liked. But she really didn't want to deal with any violence. Hopefully the lioness was just here to drink water since it was so hot.

Arachne was hesitant, she couldn't speak. Her timidness was washing over her now. It took her a moment before she could speak. "I... Don't want to fight." She said in a very hushed voice. She'd never fought anyone in her life, she had always ran before the situation had become to something like that. She wasn't a fighter, she was weak and too kind. She'd be devastated if she had hurt anyone. She even felt bad when she had to kill something to eat, but it was something she had to do.
"I.... I was just wanting a drink" She said looking away quickly from the other. If it was possible, she'd be blushing. "I... I will go" She said as she started to turn. She didn't want to intrude on the other's place. It wasn't hers, after all. The other had been here first.

Sirpa swam up to a massive rock that lay half in the water and half out. She rested her upper body on it so she didn't have to put effort into moving her paws to stay afloat. Her eyes seemed curious as she fully inspected the lioness. "You can drink water. As long as you aren't here to hurt me, I got no problem with you."
She had never met any lion with unnaturally colored markings. This lioness had red markings and the mark of a spider. How interesting. What confused her was how...she wanted to say scared, the other lioness was. Lions had nothing to be scared of. They were the biggest, baddest things on these lands. Sirpa just happened to be too lazy to be the biggest and baddest.

Arachne was always timid with anyone, unless it was a cub, cubs were adorable and she couldn't help herself. She looked back at the other, she wasn't thinking about drinking the water ever since she saw the other lioness, but now the thought slipped threw her head again. "But... I... Oh." She flicked her tail and seemed confused. Didn't the lioness just wanted to protect her water? Or was she just reading too much into what she was saying?
"I'm... I'm not thirsty" She said in a quiet voice. Almost too quiet to where only the wind could hear her, but luckily she managed to make it a little louder. Sometimes she had a problem with speaking up, especially with those who she had just met. Sometimes she was too shy for her own good, but so far no one had given her a reason not to. Except one, but he was gone now. She didn't like to think about it.
"Why.... why are you in the water?"

Sirpa's back paws moved slowly in the water to keep the water around her from warming up too much. Her blue eyes stared straight at the other lioness with a questioning look. Then she frowned before shrugging slightly. "If you say so. I just thought you were thirsty since most lions that find my pool are," she drawled.
The words of the other were so soft. If she didn't have good hearing she might not have caught the words. She had to let herself chuckle at that question. "Cause it's hot." Sirpa didn't even bother to put in much of an explanation. Heat would surely be a good enough reason. After all, it got her off her lazy bum and into the water. She had become an expert at swimming though from living by the pool of water. It helped that it was big enough and deep enough to actually swim around in.

Arachne probably wouldn't even go into water if it was hot. She looked at her with her dark red eyes. She wasn't hot at all, but she knew that everyone had their own limits, and everyone had their own thing they liked to do when it was hot. Though, she still thought it was a little strange, she'd never seen another lion in water before. "Is.... isn't there fish in there?" She asked.
She heard bad stories about some time of fish, and they had ruined any type of chance for her to want to get near them. Even if they were dead. They had teeth, and that's what she was afraid of. Things biting her didn't sound pleasant at all. She gave a sorta worried look at the other and then at the water and took a small step back.
She could easily drink water with fish in it, but she was always fast about it. She didn't want to give them more time than what she already gave them Perhaps she was just being paranoid.
