So are we set on the Cimmerian Empire? If not, then we'll need to come up with something else. But if so, then we can start from there.

Yeah, I like that idea. Most of the world is pretty much just whatever. Romania in the Marvel world is just that place that's near Latveria and New York is just where all the superheroes live. XP
There's plenty of space to carve a chunk out for Cimmeria.

Africa should be modern! I think instead of the stereotypical Africans black as coal and frizzy hair and no electricity and stuff, it should change to Africa being the 2nd most modern area in the world, to the US. The middle east should be peaceful, and the history of the middle east should be peaceful as well (I mean think of the big changes that would make).
I mean, it would change people's stereotype of the impoverished third world countries. Africa would be a thriving nation.

The Cimmerian Empire ruling for 8000 years wouldn't stop there from being as many religions in the world as there are now. There would be different ones than we know in our current world, but there would probably still be just as many because the different religions in the world came into being through adaptation to living in different parts of the world. There's the indigenous religions and beliefs as well as those the empire would have brought with them, plus whatever religions resulted from mixing the indigenous religions with those of the empire.

So what if Cimmeria takes up the border on the Mediterranean Sea from Scotland and wraps around to China?
This would mean that Cimmeria would have to have defeated the British at some point to reattain their ancestral homeland.

I guess my question religion in this universe is more along the lines of should have the worship of gods and goddesses such as Crom and Mitra from the Conan universe still be alive and well or do we want them to have dropped their ways in favour of a more monotheistic view of the world?

Dunno. After all, despite the monotheistic worldview in the original Marvel Universe, there are gods who exist and show they live in our world.

True, but I remember reading one comic where Odin said to Thor that they were in reality just beings of energy and the only reason they took the forms they did is because they were near he Norse vikings at the time. He then also said that they would exist in said form until people stopped believing in them.

Alright, these are definitely ideas.
At the risk of making an enemy of myself though I think the best thing to do would be to approach this from the front.
Exactly how much of the world do we really want to be changed? The more we change the further we get away from the familiarity of ours and the Marvel worlds, the more risk we run of potentially affecting characters. For instance off the top of my head I know Moira MacTaggart and Rahne Sinclair both hail from Scotland, so right off there are two characters who people might be turned off of playing since we've changed the world.
In regard to the Middle-East and Africa, ideas like you've proposed might affect characters like Dust and Storm.
It's stuff like this we really want to be careful of. I know we want the world to be unique and interesting, but we also don't want to turn people off of it. By no means am I saying it can't be done, I just feel we should stay aware of the possible repercussions the changes we're making could have on our potential players. I love the creativity but lets not let it blind us to how others might be perceiving all of this. That's all I want to say.

Fine by me. 3nodding I think I'm keeping the skeletons the same so the transition will be nice and easy.
:: I've kept the profiles mostly the same, but I cut out a couple of sections and rearranged others to put the information in what I feel is a more logical order. Everyone who already has profiles is welcome to keep what they have. Updating profiles to fit the new skeleton will be totally optional for everyone transitioning from the other rpg.

Achikah I made 10 advertising/signature banners, the rest can be found Here. I'll code them up once the threads up and running, but for now, I wanted to know if anyone had an specific characters they'd like done? These are pretty easy to make since I kept the layering file, so just ask, I'd be more than happy to make any character you'd like. 3nodding Could you make one for Storm? Or Shadowcat?
