He had actually remembered. Or more likely, Monica had called him up this morning asking how he was feeling and telling him she knew he probably wasn't up for a party, but she'd ordered cupcakes, and it would be a SHAME to waste them-- So Roch was sitting at the front gate, waiting for his cupcake ship to come in. When it did, he took the massive box, juggling it slightly as he told the driver his granddad would tip him, and heading off--carefully--to have himself some cupcakes. Mannnn they smelled and LOOKED great, he thought, peering through the clear plastic on top.

Amphi on the other hand, did not know it was the birthday of Roch's and thus, had gone obliviously through the day with ease. though she had managed to finish the last of her homework, Thank goodness, The mermaid was feeling cooped up in her dorm....and lonely.
Something odd for her since she use to be found alone in the libraries, books stacked around her. Or alone in her dorm, swimming without a care.
The walk was nice though as she donned her usual baring attire, a slow hum of a song played on her lips.....until she stopped to stare at a certain reaper she fancied.
Roch seemed to be carrying a box of sorts, of what, she was of course, curious about....Which prompted her to dive for the bushes and attempt to sneak follow him. Like usual, Stalking was her first thought when it came to the reaper.

The punk boil was happy. It showed in the way he was whistling as he walked down the path--past a few of his pals--further down the path--wait, had he just walked PAST friends? With a box of cupcakes? And--seriously, he had just sped up, hadn't he--
What WAS the punk boil doing? Now he was looking left and right, as if searching for people--and there, he was almost JOGGING! In the opposite direction of people!
What on Halloween was the usually gregarious punk boil doing?

Amphi narrowed her eyes as she moved to another bush, the only sign of it being disturbed was a slight rustling. She peered through it, continuing her survallinace. The box seemed to be....object of adoration.
Amphi attempted to quell the feeling that maybe it was a special gift and he was getting it from a special somone.
It was squashed immediatly as it flew in her head though as he moved away, more concerned with keeping up with the reaper.
She tucked herself into the wall as he took off past people...PAST PEOPLE. No people where was he going.
"Just what are you doing Roch?" The mermaid mumbled out loud, counting to five before she took off after him. Though she didn't jog, she had to run to keep up with his long legs. Jack her short figure!

He reached the reaper dorm, backing up to shove the door open with a hip--and staring at Amphi with a look of pure, unadulterated "Oh jack, I been BUSTED."
"Um... yo," he said, shoving the door open and racing in before she could say anything.

Amphi was busted too.
Her face met Roch's with a:
* A * and watched as he took off.
"Roch...." Her eyes narrowed again, taking off after him. "Get back here you. Why are you running away? What is in the box.....? Roooooooch." She barely avoided a female reaper as she continued to give chase. "You better hope I don't catch you?" She didn't sound very threatening.

"They're MINE!" he called over his shoulder, racing to his room. "All mine!" And then there was a positively EVIL laughter, that said he was enjoying himself far too much. If Monica knew she would be SO disappointed.
He got to his door, only to stand there like an idiot, fumbling for his keys and balancing the massive box with one hand. His hand reached into his pocket--and pulled out a yoyo... then a treat... then a sucker... then a harmonica--
"Jackdammit, why can I never find my keys?"

"WELL THAT'S FINE ROCH, I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS!??!" She yelled back, not deterred by the evil laughter what so ever. In fact, it was like egging her to come and get him and his box of SURPRISES.
Fine then. Challenge accepted.
She rounded the corner as she saw him fumbling in his pockets. A smile spread onher cheeks as she flushed (yes there was still that flush), She ALMOST sauntered over to him. ALMOST.
"Well...Look who is stuck out here now Roch!" She said as she speed walked over to him.
Let the countdown begin. Would he get his keys first or would he fall victim to the mermaids advance!?!? AND WHATEVER IN HIS BOX WOULD BE HER PRIZE.

He dug deeper. He'd almosssst gotten his keys-- wait, was that--could that be-- he pulled out a can opener, staring at it blankly, with a hint of despair. He was SO busted.
"I can explain?" he asked.

She grinned again as came upon him, staring blankly at the box though.
"I hope you can Roch, because you ran away from me." She reached up and poked him in the chest. "How come you ran away Roch?" She cocked her head and then without warning, reached both hands into his pockets and felt her hands grab on to...
"And you won't be able to go into your room without these unless you share what's in there!" She grinned evilly...blushing though, as she tugged out the very item he was looking for. showing it to him with a open palm. "Better start talking Roch!"

"If you unlock the door," he said. "Please Amphi? I just need you to unlock the door, blue eyes," he pleaded, giving her equal measure of silver eyes in return. "Unlock the door and we'll have somethin' jackin' BEAUTIFUL between us."
The cupcakes. No, seriously, he REALLY was thinking cupcakes.
