It was another dreary day for Mot O'Boyle. The weather was a match to his mind; Clouds overcast the normally orange sky, turning the outside world to grayscale. Luckily it wasn't raining.

The grim reaper dragged himself from the school toward the reaper dorms, kicking a rock every few steps as a means of practicing his not thinking.

Not thinking was hard. Very hard. Kicking stuff kind of helped.

Before he knew it he was inside the building and could not kick things. His whole while walking to his rom spent over thinking, yet again.

What Mot hadn't noticed was that he was being followed. It was unintentional of course as they lived about as close to the same place as possible, what with their being neighbours and all, but the fact remained he was still being stalked. The Psychopomp had considered leaving him alone, but who was he kidding. Mac and leaving anyone alone was never going to happen. Ever.

So he stayed on the Grim's heels, easily sliding into Mot's room right behind him. Getting in was the easy part, the fun part was now seeing how long it would take him to notice that he was there.

Something was amiss. His room felt... Dark. Evil. Wrong.

FooFoo noticed before Mot did, yipping excitedly and dashing toward the shorter reaper behind his master. The small puff of white fur leapt up the Psychopomp's leg and yapped loudly for attention. This was the man who'd taken care of him months ago!

Mot was less than excited, turning suddenly and staring at the dark skinned boil behind him.

He looked less than impressed, orange eyes narrowing darkly. "What are you doing here?"

Damnit FooFoo, you ruined all his stealth! The Psychopomp stared down at the foxfire, leaning over a little bit to pat the yappy, jumpy thing on the head. He stayed that way for a moment, letting the other Reaper glare daggers into his core. Just when it seemed that the question was going to hang in the air forever, Mac stood, giving him a shrug.

"I thought we needed to talk." He started, sliding his hands into his pockets for a moment, eyeing the taller reaper. "And this time it won't be me yelling at you, I promise." Mac added with a thin chuckle, one hand escaping his pocket to rub the back of his neck.

"Talk?" Mot repeated suspiciously, turning slowly on his heel to face mac properly. FooFoo backed off after getting his fill of head pets, prancing fancily off to another side of the room to chew on an old boot. Luckily not one of Mot's boots. No, this boot was specifically bought to allow the foxfire to destroy.

The promise was met with mild hesitation. Well, if he wasn't hear to be a condescending a*****e, then fine. He supposed he'd give him a chance.

Mot let out a soft sigh of defeat, and waved a hand. "Fine. We'll talk. Coffee?" Cause Mot sure as Hell needed one right now. Regardless of Mac's answer, Mot started making them both one. If Mac didn't want it, mot would likely finish it for him.

"Just what is there to talk about?" He asked grimly, pale faced and staring down at his task with absolute focus.

It was good that Mot gave in, because to be honest? Mac wasn't going to leave anyway. He was good at antagonizing people, and would definitely have used his powers to get the other man to talk with him. It was nicer to not have to do that though, and he closed the door behind him, locking it with a cough to mask the telling click.

"No thanks, s'all yours." He waved off the offer, but it seemed that there was two made anyway. Well, uh, fantastic. Good to know that Mot's listening skills were as sharp as his intimate way with women. But, he promised to not yell at Mot and that was certainly a good way to secure an eventual yelling match, so he stayed quiet.

"I know Hel told you what happened." He started, using his free hand to scratch his jaw. "I'm sorry, Mot." For once, he sounded like he meant it.

Oh well. More for later. Mot poured the second cup back into the coffee maker since he took his black anyway, and brought his own mug to his lips, taking a slow sip as he eyed Mac over the rim of the cup.

An apology?

Honestly, Mot didn't see that coming. At all. The reaper pulled the mug away from his face, looking at Mac curiously through tired eyes. Sorry wouldn't make things better, but he figured Mac knew that. He was a jackass, but he wasn't stupid.

He leaned against the counter, eyes dropping down to his black brew in thought.

"Hm.." What did he say to that? He certainly didn't forgive him, if that's what he wanted. He had Lizzy, and then he had to go and have Hel too? That bitter jealousy started to bubble up again, furrowing his brows harshly. Sure that might not have been the way of it, but somehow that scenario wouldn't go away.

"You aren't expecting anything out of me, are you?"
PostPosted: Wed Jul 04, 2012 7:31 pm

"Not one bit." Mac acknowledged with a chuckle, shrugging. "But I thought I'd say it anyway, and then remind you that I hate feeling the need to apologize." Which to him, meant something. He didn't apologize seriously often if at all, and to Mot? Blasphemy. The Reaper kicked off his boots to indicate he wasn't leaving any time soon and took a seat in the nearest available chair.

"But I also don't know what to tell you, or say. To be honest I've never been on this end of...this. I'm usually in your shoes." He explained awkwardly, leaning forward to rest his arms on his knees, fingers linking together lazily. It felt odd to acknowledge that, especially to Mot. What he didn't acknowledge out loud was that by this he also meant on the end that fought to keep it going. The end that had consequences and hurt more people than just himself. "So...why don't you lead this little talk? I'm sure you've got a lot of things to say to me." And if he didn't? Well, Mac would change that.

"But you did it oh so well." Mot snarked darkly. Mac sure looked like he was making himself at home. Mot didn't like this one little bit. He certainly didn't join him at the table either. Apology or not, it didn't change how much he hated him.

"Are you now? Sick of getting cheated on and thought you'd put someone else through it?" Mot looked back down in his mug. He wasn't used to feeling and acting so bitter. It left a bad taste in his mouth. It wasn't as if laying it on Mac would fix anything. "Bet that feels great."

"I have nothing to say to you. You didn't force yourself on her. It was obviously consensual. What can I say to that?"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 05, 2012 8:01 pm

Nope, Mac was staying put. Sorry Mot!

"Yeah, Mot. I'm the kind of guy that goes hey, let's make other people suffer because I can!." Mac's voice pitched into a mock, rolling his eyes at the idea. "Please." Stretching his arms upwards he clasped them behind his head, leaning back in the chair as if he owned the place. "It feels like s**t, thank you." He hurt Lizzy, Hel was uncomfortable, and Mot, who he really did care about to begin with, was hurting too. Normally, he wouldn't give a s**t, but Mot's feelings affected Lizzy, and Lizzy's affected him. Ergo, he had to try to clear the air.

"How about how you really feel? You say there's nothing, but that's bullshit. You wouldn't be standing there with your panties in a bunch - pardon the lingo - if you really felt you couldn't say anything. So, Motty boy, what's on your mind?"

Motty boy? No. No one but Hel ever called him Motty. It was like poison on the tongue coming from Mac.

"Wanna know what is on my mind? Really?" If Mac was just in this to clear his own demons, then fine. Mot would indulge him. Maybe he would leave after he felt satisfied.

"I want to know how is it that a good ghoul like Lizzy stays with you. It is her business and her heart, but I can't imagine how she manages to keep her heart strong with you playing with it like this. I want to know why only after a couple days after me and Hel have a break in our relationship, you manage to get her in bed. Why so soon? Why YOU of all people? You both say it was cider, but I have little doubt there had to have been something there for it to have happened at all."

He raised a finger suddenly.

"And don't you dare bring up the issue of me and intimacy into it. That was never your business." That was a whole other can of worms.

He huffed and set his mug down. "How do I feel? I feel betrayed. I feel hurt. I feel as if everything I worked so hard toward was worth nothing to her. She seems to be under the impression I stopped fighting. I never stopped. Not until now."
PostPosted: Thu Jul 05, 2012 9:58 pm

"Yup." He confirmed, still leaning back to give Mot all the attention he needed to say what he had to. For the first time, Mac actually sat quietly and listened to him, giving him his full attention and nothing less. Black eyes pinned on orange, and he waited.

"Well...when you figure that out, you let me know, yeah? I ask myself that every day, and I'm thankful for whatever it is that keeps her with me." Mac sighed honestly, still unmoving from leaning back in the chair with his arms behind his head. As for the rest of it, he just shrugged.

"I don't know what to tell you, Mot. Yeah, it was the cider that pushed it, but...to be honest? I do like her. She's a great ghoul and she's hot...but you know what else? I don't love her. You can be in lust and not in love, there's a difference, a big one. I can normally curb those but...the cider. It's not an excuse, but it's the truth. I regret it, every second of it." The Reaper rubbed his face, ending up stroking his chin thoughtfully.

"She made a mistake. The biggest one of her life...but everyone makes mistakes. She still wants you, Mot." He paused as if uncomfortable, digging his fingers into the itchy stubble along his jaw. "She called for you, when she...yanno." He made a vague gesture. What he was saying was a lie of course, Hel didn't say anyone's name but his, but Mot didn't know that. Hel wanted to tell the truth from the start and that worked swimmingly, so maybe a little white lie might change it up a bit. Mot was worried that she had tossed him aside...maybe this lie could help.

Thankful, was he. So what if he knew how good he had it. Mot could feel that bitter and jealous feeling burning up his core.

Hel did seem to want to keep it going. She nearly begged. But Mot just couldn't get over that little bit of pride he had left. He'd felt so betrayed. So hurt.

"She WHAT!?" He almost squeaked it, but managed to keep his rasp in tact. "Wow, that had to have been.. insulting." Mot muttered, rubbing his neck and casting his gaze aside, his face going rather red.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 05, 2012 10:18 pm

...Wow, that actually worked? Huh.

"You have no idea." Mac snorted, chuckling as though he were hurt, but really he was just trying to tone it down because he couldn't believe it worked. "The memory's hazy, but you don't really forget something like that. Can't say that's ever happened to me before, either." Yes, Mac. Play up a lie about a ghoul crying out the wimpy cowboil's name; if it were true, it would be incredibly insulting. Either way, he hoped the other Reaper would get something out of it.

"So yeah...it's okay to feel the way you do, hell, I don't blame you in the slightest, but...she still wants you. Don't write her off yet~" That part he wasn't sure if it was true or not, but the ghoul did always seem so gung-ho about the walking stick, even to an annoying point. He liked them together; it kept Mot away from Lizzy which smoothed over his own jealousy, and it kept Hel from him, which stopped him from doing something stupid over and over and over again.

It worked out better for everyone involved, really.

Did she really call out his name? It was flattering, really. It was also best Mot never know it was just a white lie.

"She does.. I know she does. But.." Mot's eyes softened, both hands clasping hind his neck with his elbows close to her torso. "She deserves someone who can show her the affection I never could. It's impossible for me to be the kind of man she really wants. Love is one thing. I love her, and she loved me too. But there was a wall.. I could never show her love like she wants me to."
