It had been days since she had seen her last god. It had been even longer since the goddess of hypnosis had seen her sister from another life. With a snarl, Xibalba walked along the grounds of Africa, her unblinking eyes looking everywhere for a possibility of finding her sister. Her sister that was from when she was a mortal, before she had been killed for the sake of helping others. Her death had left Xibalba cold and bitter, but at the same time murderous and cynical. Where could she be hiding?! Had her eyes not looked everywhere already? Someone had to have seen that b*****d of a sister somewhere. With burns like the ones she had left on her, someone was bound to recognize her with that kind of deformity.

Nepenthes lay in a shallow pool of water, eyes half-lidded as he stared off at nothing. He had been laying here for some time, and during that time many had come by, mostly prey animals, and most of them tended to hesitate and turn away from his intimidating form. For the time he could not care. Slight amusements of their reactions, but he was more focused on enjoying the cool water. Even the sun seemed less hot while he lay within the shallow pool.

Where was she even going to at this point? She, as always, had no idea. Her paws simply carried her wherever she had no looked yet and where her wandering eyes had no seen yet. There. One of the eyes on her wings spotted a red form, a large one at that, laying in a pool of what seemed to be water. The moment the first eye saw it, all others turned to look in the direction of it. It was no what she was looking for, but something about the form drew her to investigate. With the thought in mind, Xibalba altered her course to head towards him. Perhaps he was as she: a divine.

Nepenthes’ golden eyes opened further. Someone was coming. The plants growing on the vines spoke quickly, their small voices telling him of a stranger coming his way. Slowly, lazily, he pushed himself up with his front legs, turning his head to look for this stranger. It was not hard to spot though. A winged form was coming his way. Another god? Nepenthes had not quite expected to come across another god, but perhaps it was not that surprising. His interest was certainly piqued, but he lay himself back down in the water. If she was coming this way then there was no need for him to uproot himself from such a comfortable spot.

The distance was closed and indeed he was one of her kind. He was god, but of what domain she still did not know. By his horns and the live vines wrapped around his body, it was easy to tell that he was of the divine species. "Who be you?" Xibalba asked, her voice as raspy as ever while the large, central eye on her chest kept a close eye on the god in front of her. Who knew what this god was capable of and of course she was still terrified she would be killed and forced into a rebirthing cycle. There was no way she'd let that happen so readily though. "Xibalba, name." She said after thinking on a moment. She had not introduced herself first and to a god that she might try to recruit, it was just plain rude not to.

Nepenthes’ eyes started to close once again as he waited, listening as the other god closer. It did not take long, and soon enough what was obviously a god stood outside the shallow watering hole. He turned his golden gaze to look at her, and was curious to find many more eyes staring back. This female had multiple eyes on her body, the most curious of all was the large one on her chest, which seemed to be focused quite intently on him. As she spoke he moved his gaze from the eye within her chest to her face. She asked who he was, and he kept silent It was not until after she offered forth her name that he decided to reply. “Nepenthes.” He replied simply.
Not every day did he come across a god, certainly, but he was more curious as to why this one had decided to confront him. She did not seem aggressive, at least thus far, and perhaps even a little defensive. Once more he pushed the front of his body up out of the water, stretching before pushing himself further up into a sitting position. No further words sprang forth from the god though, instead he sat there staring back at the female, wondering only silently why she was there.

"Xibalba's sister, looking for her. Brown pelt, burns all along her front body with pretty, delicate markings on her back. Has Nepenthes seen her?" Xibalba asked, putting herself into a sitting position as well to mimic the god in front of her. Maybe she would get lucky and he would have seen Maya at some point, unless he was brand new to the world somehow. Maybe he'd even know exactly where she was! Oh she could only hope at this point. All the while her mind began to wander and how she seemed to stumble over gods more then mortals. It was must have been some kind of dumb luck or something. Maybe she was just passively ignoring them all and only saw the gods worth her notice! Well, this one was by the far the most interesting of them all. He was silent, good, and seemed to like staring as well which was also good.

So she was looking for someone, and wanted information from him. Nepenthes slowly closed his eyes, trying to remember if he had come across a person of such description. He had seen many in his idle wanderings, but could not recall of anyone, mortal or otherwise, who fully matched this goddess’s description. Slowly he opened his eyes and shook his head. “Not familiar. Why you looking? She lost?” He questioned further. Truthfully he really didn’t care. He was more curious about this goddess with her multiple eyes han he was on why she wanted to find her sister.

"Xibalba sees." She hissed out, her eyes finally breaking their gaze on the other god in front of her for a moment as they began searching again in hopes of finding her. Wait, he was another god, one that seemed to not care quite as must as others. Her eyes snapped back to their state of staring at him once more. "Nepethes will help Xibalba find her, yes?" Maybe with the help of another, she would finally be able to track down what was left of her past.

Nepenthes squinted at the other god as he thought over her request. He supposed he could help her, though she had not answered his questions, though he had not cared so what did it matter? Besides, if nothing else then he got to follow the curious goddess around for a bit. Why not, it could be interesting. “Okay, I will help.” He nodded slowly, the jagged maw spreading back in a long smile.
