Okay, I need some help.
I'm in the Soul Cairn and I have a quest to find 10 pages of Jiub's Opus, I have 5/10: page 1, page 3, page 7, page 8 and page 10. I really Don't wanna spend anymore time than I have to in here after the terribly boring experiance I had in Blackreach finding the Crimson Nirnroot. The only difference this time is that I can actually see where I'm going (to an extent) but everything still looks the same so I keep going round in circles...someone save me!
And just before someone mentions them I have done the Arvak's head quest, I have killed the 3 keepers, I have killed the keepers and I have gotten the spell tomes. which is why I wanna get the hell out of this place ASAP.

Na they have attacked the main cities even before the DG DLC. I can't tell you how many times I wandered into Dawnstar and had to fight off Frost Dragons. I've had them attack some of the walled cities, like Solitude and like right outside of Riften.

I have 300+ hours in Skyrim and have never had one dragon attack one of the main holds with exceptions of the un-walled cities such as dawnstar, winterhold etc.

It doesn't happen as often as the un-walled cities, I kinda freaked out a bit when one of them landed just outside the Blue Palace. I used to have them attack the College of Winterhold every time I made a visit there. And that was also before one of the patches so the bones would be there for a very long time before they disappeared.

I'm kinda glad it doesn't happen much, my dear sweet NPC's can remain safe and quests can go un-interrupted~<3 emotion_yatta

It was perfect. So perfect in fact that my friend didn't believe me when I told him until he had a Dragon drop in to say hello in Markarth.

Lol, nice, I met my dragon in Riften, the whole town did come running to see its corpse. I had the first thieves guild quest active (where you steal the ring from the strong box and plant it on the guy who's name I forgot) and Brynolf was stood in the stall for 5 mins trying to get their attention, lmao

I could have sworn that quest NPC's were marked as essential. Meaning they can take damage, fall to the ground but not die.

In most cases, yes. Evidently not so for some (e.g. Erikur of the Thieve's Guild special job questline). I met my first hold-Dragon in Solitude. Had to hurl magic at him from the ground, whilst he was sitting atop one of the Guards' Towers. Was rather ironic, because I had only just learned Dragonrend and hadn't bothered figuring out what it did.

Ha Ha Ha, that's too funny. I did that all the time, throwing spell after spell at the flying beasts, while forgetting that I had a handy shout to bring them out of the air.

Your welcome. When it doubt UESP will usually have the answer your seeking. Though some times it's still hard to find things even with UESP's help.
