A weekend away with Lizzy. Time to solve an old mystery. Not only would this help his best friend, it gave him an opportunity to be a real detective. Uncovering the past, it sounded fun. Now all he had to worry about was the knowledge Lizzy's boil friend was the dirtbag who also got his ex drunk and... and...

Gyuuuuuugh.....

Now Mot felt sick. The pale faced reaper swayed a bit as he waited outside the train station, waiting for Lizzy.

"Mooooo- You alright?" She was in the middle of a tackle-hug attempt - because he looked distracted a moment ago - but now that she was closer, Lizzy realized that she might cause him some serious injuries if she had gone through with the "surprise". Skidding to a stop in front of him, a hand-carry luggage bag in one hand, she frowned at the reaper, "Are you feeling unwell...?"

Oh, it was Lizzy~ Lizzy was such a nice ghoul~ She'd never do him wrong. Bestest friend ever!

"I'll be fine." He said with a wry smile, patting the ghoul on the shoulder. "Shall we?" He tiredly dragged himself toward the platform their train was arriving at.

He was kind of anxious. Lizzy knew about Hel and Mac, but acted like it was fine. Did she know that he knew? "Um.. how are you?" He asked almost suspiciously.

"Oh, that's good to hear!" She grinned, feeling relieved as she followed the reaper to the platform, waiting for their train to slow to a stop; she had to wonder why he looked like he had slept even less than usual, but there was the whole train ride back home to talk about that... Although she had a feeling that she might nod off before him.

"I'm... Nervous, but excited," She replied after a moment's pause; although she had other emotions as well, those two were currently the most prominent, because it was related to the main reason why she was heading home for the weekend. Tilting her head at the reaper, she offered him a smile, "And you~?"

"Don't be nervous. You should be excited. I'm looking forward to this, actually." Mot said with a smile. "I feel like we're solving an unsolved mystery here." Which they were, pretty much. "For better or worse, we'll learn something this weekend."

Mot paused before he answered her question, his eyes glazing over. "To be perfectly honest, I have been better." Out of most people he knew, Lizzy he saw no reason to hide his feelings from.

The train screeched to a stop, and the doors opened. Mot smiled tiredly at Lizzy motioned for her to get on first before following.

"I'm always going to be somewhat nervous about this," She admitted sheepishly, nodding in agreement with his statement, her free hand pumping the air in an enthusiastic manner, "We will! I'm determined to make it so!"

She looked worried at the way he had answered her question, but they were ushered into the train by the station master before she could ask him more. Making the way to their cabin, she stored her luggage before taking a seat next to the window. She waited for Mot to settle down as well, before saying what she had wanted to say before, "Did something happen...? I mean... Something else..." On top of his break with Hel.

Mot could understand why she would be nervous. As far as he knew she didn't know her dad. Likely she'd created an image of him, expectations prior to doing this. It was scary finding the truth.

Mot sat across from Lizzy, setting his things down and leaning back. Now this felt good. Getting away from it all. It seemed all Mot did was run, but he let himself enjoy it for now.

"Something else?" Mot's eyes lidded as his gaze dropped. "Well, you know how I said me and Hel were on a break? Before Prom?" His voice dropped, his face darkening. "After Prom... right after prom.. I ended it officially. You might know the reason why."

He didn't like starting their trip like this, but he knew if he didn't get it out of the way now, the whole weekend would have that lingering dark cloud. It needed to be adressed so it wouldn't get in the way of their investigation.

"... Did... Did she tell you... About that?" Her voice had dropped to a whisper, barely audible above the shouting of the station master outside, and the sound of the train's whistle. A long, almost awkward pause followed as she looked down at her own feet, not quite sure what to say to Mot; he was so hurt before, having to ask for a break... She couldn't imagine how he must be feeling right now.

"I..." She wanted to say 'I'm sorry', but that sounded so empty to her, "Do you want to tell me... How you feel?" She wanted to help him relieve some of his negative emotions - or at least, try to.

"I'm afraid to say how I feel about it. I don't want to be miserable forever but.. what I feel and think about could be hurtful to you, since it concerns... him." Mot couldn't help but say it with a bitter tone.

"I'm mad at them both, but more than anything I'm hurt.. kind of insulted. What little pride I had just shattered like glass when she told me." Mot wrung his fingers together as he spoke, his eyes settling on his knees. "I know I wasn't the best boilfriend. I wasn't as affectionate or bold as she wanted me to be..." Even though he'd thought he'd been trying. Sure he'd been improving. She went to Mac so quickly after the break that he felt like the other boil was what Hel preferred. Maybe she was more physically attracted to Mac.

"As much as I feel it's my fault it failed, As much as I still love her, I can't look at her anymore without feeling like she'd prefer someone better than me."

"I..." Lizzy frowned, closing her eyes briefly, inhaling deeply before exhaling slowly. She looked determined, at least, when she opened her eyes to look at Mot, "I'm ready. Mac might be my boilfriend... But I know that... His heart isn't exactly made of gold, and while he might have good intentions, they don't always justify his actions... So you can tell me anything."

She paused, her frown deepening at what the reaper was saying; it was only natural for him to feel like that... He had been so torn up over having to separate from Hel; having to break up for real must had torn him apart. She could identify with the hurt though... It still hurt. A dull sort of ache that she intended to ignore until it was gone for good.

"Mot..." She got up from her seat, and took a few steps towards him before sitting down next to him, patting him on his head, "You are definitely every bit as good as Mac is, and I hardly ever give boils this sort of praise! This means you rank in the top 5% of all the boils in the world." Well, in Lizzy's world, "You're a kind gentleman who makes the people you come in contact with feel comfortable... If chivalry had a face, it would be Mot. If you can overcome your intimacy issues - and I have no doubt that you can! - well, that's just icing on cake~"

Lizzy was strong. So strong. Mot admired that determination and endurance her heart had. If only he could be as strong as Lizzy.

Mot smiled softly, her words once again bringing a little light back to his heart. "Thank you Lizzy. That really does make me feel better." He chuckled and patted her on the head too, for good measure. "I admire you. You're very strong. A strength that I aspire to have."

"I'm not sure how I'll do it, but there's sure to be a way. In the meantime though, let's solve ourselves a mystery."

She smiled at the head pats, glad that her words helped. Her cheeks flushed pink at the compliment, and she looked taken aback before smiling, "Thank you... You know, nobody praises me the way you do... Bro." She wasn't going to stop calling him that for a while; prom was an exception, but since it was now over... It was time to chill. Or something.

"My secret is that I'm always angry I actually rely a lot on my friends," She admitted, looking sheepish, "When I feel... At a loss, or like I'm about to reach my breaking point, I think of my friends, and that if I'm not being strong for myself, I'm doing it for them...
As cheesy as it probably sounds..." Her blush deepened in color as she cleared her throat, "I don't think anyone can be strong by themselves... It's like the snap-a-twig story."

Nodding in agreement, she seemed to lighten up, "Yes! I even brought along a detective's hat for us..."

"Stop that!" Mot scolded, flicking her nose. "Ladies do not say Bro!" He smirked despite it, ruffling her hair.

Mot smiled at her words. No one was invincible, but it seemed Lizzy had a way of finding her rock when she needed it. "That's a good way to go about it. It isn't cheesy at all." That's right, he heard you mumbling. "Snap a Twig story, huh? I guess that is why they call it.. stick-ing together?" He raised his eyebrows, expecting a laugh at his terrible pun.

"You're joking." Mot said with a laugh. "A special hat for a special task."
PostPosted: Thu Jul 05, 2012 10:37 pm

"Why not, bro?" She asked innocently, inclining her head to a side, wrinkling her nose when Mot oh so savagely attacked it, "Are we not chill? We should... Ask everyone to make love, not nose-flicks... Bro." She started gesturing in the air, making circles in the air like they contributed to the conversation, and it wasn't just her being weird.

"... That's terrible!" She grabbed at her chest, making at face at the reaper. However, as much as she was trying not to laugh - because she did not want to encourage Mot's unpunny puns - the edges of her lips were twitching upwards, and she ducked her head, huffing as she dragged her hand-carry luggage bag out from under the seat, "I'm not! Here-" She unzipped said bag, pulling out a brown detective hat, before flopping it on top of his head, wobbling as the movement of the train nearly caused her to fall, "SEE?!"

"Oh goodness, Lizzy. You will tortue me to my dying breath with your nonsense!" Mot bellowed dramatically, pulling at his thin face as if he were dying. "We are chill! Okay? Chiiiilll." Oh how much Mot disliked saying such silly things!

Terrible? Mor like terribly awesome right?

Mot chuckled as the hat came out, letting her plunk it on his head, hands held out to steady her. "Wonderful. I can feel the detective vibes flowing within me. This vacation will be fantastic."
