 The sun was slowly rising from the sea's horizon, casting a bright reflection on the water's surface. Everything was waking up for the day, the birds, the fish, the giant aquatic noodle that was floating through the sky towards the rising sun. When it was close enough, the orange-tipped blue noodle ate the life-giving star, grinning a silly grin as the world went dark. It tasted like liquid gold!
Cyprinus realized that this must be a dream, he knew that birds woke up before the sun rises, so it couldn't be real. Urging himself to stir as well, the blue noodle awakes as the real sun also begins to slowly creep up the horizon, casting warm shadows through his room. He stretches and hops out of bed, not wasting any time dawdling, he was ready to start the new day!
Running downstairs into the restaurant proper, he stops only long enough to grab his trusty net, making a mental list of fish he wanted to catch today as he continues straight out the door and towards his favored docks. Holding the net in his teeth, it flaps and drags behind him as his paws make soft sounds on the aged wood, hurrying to the end of the pier to peer down into the inviting waters.

The water was calm and quiet in front of Cyprinus. Not so much behind him, though. He's hear a spash, a couple rolling thuds accross the planks, and another pair of splashes, but it was all quiet before he'd turn around again, except for the slow sway of the dock in the wate and the rippling left behind in the wake of whatever had gone over the planks. A trail of chill seawater danced from one side to the other as though performing some overly complicated waltz or tango, and thin scratches were left under some of it, as though a small struggle had been the cause, if he cared to look for them.

Cyprinus blinked, standing perfectly still. He was thoroughly convinced that he had summoned a whale on the dock behind him, but how? Had he unknowingly thought the creature into existance? Or walked a certain way? Or looked at the water in the right manner?
Slowly turning around, he was dismayed to find that the whale had already departed, leaving water splashed over the dock. He sighed, there went all of his meal ideas for the next month...

Again, behind him, a ruckus disturbed the water, this time, however, there was a wet SPLAP! involved, followed by a thunk against the dock's boarding and a shift in the weight of the net Cyprinus was holding. Again, this was followed by a splash... And several others, this time. When he looked, Cyp would see one of those big, toothy beasts from the deeper waters in the ocean... The ones with lights on their faces.
While he was trying to figure out how to place the blame for his net's new addition on his own mental powers (as I'm sure he was), the water was disturbed again, and the noodle would catch glimpse of another, grinning and spinning above the water to swat viciously at another of the toothy denizens of the ocean so it landed in his net, like a basketball game. The brute looked to be defending the flimsy little net of his own, loaded with a few clams that would probably have no problem with their captor failing to exist any longer.
