User Image Sciophobia was tired, his legs ached and his heart was still pounding in it's continued effort to escape his chest. The night had been grueling as always, forcing him to run in order to avoid the shadows. The day was no safer really, but at least the world didn't appear as one giant shadow that he needed to constantly run from.... no, here he could at least see his opponant clearly as it slivered and wriggled across the ground in an effort to complete it's daily toture of him.

That was what brought Scio to the watering hole, his mouth was dry and parched after all the running and exercise. Excerise that left Scio's body rather toned, not that he cared or noticed, it was simply an instrument to help him reach his goal of survival.

Cautiously he looked around, at first he saw nothing out of the ordinary. There were shadows in plain sight, and clear areas also. One side of the waterhole, the side Scio had approached on, was linked to a plain... a plain he would find a nice exposed spot on to take a nap later. While the other side was linked to a forest, the trees standing tall and proud... their little shadow minons clinging to their trunks and roots as if trying to court them.... he shivered. No, he would not be going that way.

Lowering his head he took a sip or twelve of water, closing his purple eye for a moment to simply enjoy the refreshing taste. Well deserved, and delicious. Who could ask for more? The silence played out around him, giving Scio a false sence of security... perhaps if he had bothered to look closer at the 'shadows' today he would have noticed that not everything was as it seemed to be.
