Auva was on duty to collect some berries for dinner, she didn't wander far, knowing better than most of the dangers out in the forest, but just at the edge of the main clearing she knew of a several sweet bushes. One of Eden's little carriers sat beside her and as she gathered each of the precious little buds before dropping them in the basket she found her thoughts drifting. Things had changed quickly, she had awoke to find Heze sat with Haki, and the guy was still alive... he still spooked her a little but the way Heze seemed to smile around him was enough to melt Auva's shields a little. Drashi and her grandfather both seemed to be on high alert, and her father seemed to be hoovering like a bee around Heze, Zaniah and herself... was he tried to protect them from something? But what? It wasn't as if there was anything that could harm her here... right? at least she hoped that, for a while now the main herdlands were the only place she had felt safe, she didn't want that to disappear too.

Carlisle had picked up his bag and headed into the forest, not needing to go far luckily, the land her ewas full of the herbs and thigns he needed. Gathering some bits for more medicing to help Haki with the pain, and some other thigns to make another poltice so that he didn't get an infection. Carlisle had not had any luck trying to talk him into letting the unicorns heal him more... Baby steps... Looking round, seeing movement through the trees, having left his scarf and all but his bag behind, it was summer and he was gathering so he only needed his bag. Moving around the trees to see what the movement was, trying to be quiet in case it was trouble, though his long tail made a soft noise as it trailed behind him.

Auva had been in a world of her own. Her thoughts of her family, and concentration on her berry collection taking up pretty much all of her time. It wasn't until she dropped another load into the carrier that she heard something. Her eyes snapped to the forest, unlike most of the Miakoda herd when it came to fight or flight... Auva was defintely a flight canidiate. Already he legs moved into position to bolt, her ears flicking to pick up any noise and her breath coming a little harsher as panic threatened to set in. All it would take was one snap and she would be gone... berries or no berries. She would start again if needs be, anything to stop her from getting injuried again.

A flash of white caught her attention through the trees, and thinking it might be Drashi she relaxed a little, though the alarm didn't disapate completely from her body... just incase. Heart racing. A gulp. A shift of her legs... and all the while her eyes kept their keen observation of the movement within the forest. It didn't take long for the blonde healer to be revealed. She stepped back, a frown spreading across her face. Part of her knew it was irrational, the stallion had never been anything but kind to her, had in fact told her that he would keep her safe should she be attacked while trying to heal Heze's friend... but still she felt nervous. The issue? Auva had no idea why she felt that way.

Carlisle let out a sigh and gave Auva a smile. "Looks like we made eachother nervous there hmmm?" Giving his head a slight toss in a kind of shrugs. He didn't expect an answer but that didn't mean Auva should be ignored, it was easy enough to read her expression and body language for him. But thne he had years of reading patients, not everyone was honest about what was wrong or how they got huet or sick. So he had learnt fast how to read others, it was that or loose patients. That said he knew he unsettled Auva and so generally left her alone, but looking around he found she was already alone. Looking back to her. "Dos someone know where you are?" Concern for her clear on his face.

Auva had to admit she actually felt a little better knowing that she wasn't the only one who had been a little nervous. Relaxing a little her eyes eyed the berry basket and she had to wonder if she should continue or not. It wasn't as if she had anything to say, even if she did talk as a rule....

Her indecision was decided for her a moment later when Carlisle spoke again, she blushed a little, feeling almost like a child being told off by a parent despite the fact Carlisle tone had been nothing but nice and friendly. Still, she obediantly nodded, she had been asked to do this job but her mother, father and sisters all knew where she was. She turned to look back at the group... they weren't that far away, if she could see them she knew they could see her.

Auva's eyes wandered up and down Carlisles form, as if trying to figure out what he had been doing out her in teh first place. Her eyes settled on the bag... had been gathering things too?

Carlisle smiled at her nod, looking relieved, turning his head to see others near by. "Oh good, I'm glad you are being careful." Looking down at his bag as she looks at him nd it and nodding. "Your sisters friend has taken up several of my supplies, I was gathering more so I don't run out..." Shrugging again, sparling still, but not as much as the day before, and the mark on his leg was gone as was the mess on his nose. He had washed but had managed to get that sparkly stuff on him again. What it actually was is a powder, he ground up some minerals to make, he didn't need it often but grinding rocks and crystals up took time, especially if you wanted a powder, so he was always sparkly because he was always working on making the stuff. Trouble was one use wiped out nearly all of one supply. So he tended to make a lot.

Auva nodded, eventhough her worry was clear upon her face. She really wasn't too sure about Haki, and actually had gone near him much since the day she had tried to help heal him. If someone asked for her help she would give it without hesitation... but of her own free will? No, it was better to cautious. Trying to be a little brave, since she was pretty sure Carlisle wouldn't harm her... she looked up at him and smiled softly, the stars upon her cheeks moving and almost appearing to sparkle. Very much in the way that Carlisles always did. In a way she found herself fascinated by the way it caught the light, as if it was made of something different to her own. She didn't understand it, nor was going to ask why, but still... it was fascinating. Blushing because she realised she was staring she looked away. Stepping towards her basket. It was pretty full, and although she probably would have collected a little more she knew there would be enough if she returned now. Would that be rude though? Probably, her parents had brought her up to be anything but rude. A soft gulp escaped her as she raised her head to look at Carlisle once more... what did she want to 'say'? Would he understand her silent actions even if she tried? She nodded her head towards his bag and then stamped a hoof on the ground softly; her way of asking if he needed help. Yes, it was rare that Auva offered to help those she didn't really know... but there was always the argument that if you didn't give someone the chance to get to know you how would you ever really know if you liked them or not?

Watching her quietly he smiled again, he knew she was uncomfortable with him, usually he left her alone, so he was a little surpried when she looked back to him and his bag. Taking a moment to analyse that, having been all set to tell her to be careful and take care as she left. "You wish to help me?" Sounding faintly surprised, but pleased all the same.

Auva felt her blush brighten a little, but she nodded all the same. She had started... she may as well finish, her thinking was that this stallion had helped bring a smile back to Heze's face, so in a way her family was indebited to him. She shifted on her hooves, wondering if he was upset or something from her asking, his expression told her that he was surprised... but was there more than that? Since Auva generally kept herself to herself she wasn't the best at reading expressions, especially since her family made their feelings pretty easily known to Auva knowing she wouldn't just ask them.

Unsure what to do now she found herself nosing the small basket towards Carlisle, wondering if he was hungry.

Carlisle nodded, his face back to a plesant smile. "If you would like to help you are welcome to join me, but we should let your family know so they don't worry that your somewhere alone." Leaning down to her basket and taking a single berry and eating it, not liking to refuse but also not feeling hungry at that moment. his expression calm and relaxed, gesturing with his head. "Shall we take your basket and go and tell them?" Happy to leave her there is she changed her mind, he wasn't one to make others do things.

Auva calmed her self, trying to focus on things that would help the heat in her cheeks cool. Water. Cool and gentle. Cascading over her and washing away everything dark and horrible. Purity. The shimmering of stars. The dazzling moon. She felt much better after her little exercise and looked back at the sparkling white stallion before she bowed her head in acceptance to his 'condition'. Picking up her basket she prepared to follow the healer.

Carlisle smiled, walking along quietly beside her to deliver her basket and let her family know she was going to be with him. Part of him always amused, he was a pure angeni, a being of goodness and still others hesitated with him. Not speaking his thoughts though, just keeping Auva company in the short treck to her family. He could talk more to her later if she wanted to hear him ramble on.

Auva didn't feel uncomfortable in teh silence, but then again she rarely felt uncomfortable in silence... who would expect anything less of someone who stayed silent out of choice.

Walking towards her mother she smiled softly, hugging her for a moment as she placed the basket on the ground, she then indicated with her hoof towards Carlisle, demonstrating she was planning to go with him. This seemed to get a beaming smile from her mother which actually surprised Auva. What was her mother so happy about? Shrugging it off she smiled and returned to Carlisle's side. She stamped on the floor once to indicate she was ready when he was. And even as she stood there ready to work she had to wonder if she would get in the way, after all the pure Angeni hadn't asked for help... he simply hadn't turned her down.

Carlisle watched all this with his usual gentle smile, giving Chandra a bow before turning to leave, letting Auva set the pace, he just piccking the where to go, not seeming in a hurry. Stopping after a while and looking over some fungus that was on the trunk of a tree, seeming to be inspecting it. "You id well the other day, your healing ability is one of the strongest I have seen from a mixed blood unicorn." Not meaning that in the leaset rudely, he had no idea how strong Maion was, but then he had never seen him heal anythign grave start to finish, But Auva had done most of the work compared to parents and siblings. "Well done." Looking from the tree to her, his smile a little more engaging as he gives her the complement.

Auva blushed again at the compliment but smiled and nodded her thanks, it was rare she was complimented... if at all actually, there was nothing she did that was really note worthy. As if to try and explain she flapped her wings and shook her head, she wasn't very good at flying, and couldn't get half as high as her siblings and family... which indicated to her that despite her angenicorn appearance she didn't lean more towards the Angeni preference like her grandfather and mother did... it made her wonder what her father would have been like had he had someone to try and teach him how to use his horn. Before Haki's injuries she had never seen him even attempt to heal anything.

Carlisle smiles. "Not that good at flying hmmm well that can take practice, not everyone is good at everything. Maybe you have gifts hidden inside waiting for the time to burst out and shine." Smiling at her again before leaning into the tree and snapping the fungus off with careful presure from his mouth. Dropping a few bits in his bag he turned and started leading her somewhere else.

Auva shrugged softly at Carlisles words, in truth Auva was fine with not being able to fly too high. She would probably fear getting lost up there if she did anyways, at least at the height she could comfortable get to she could see everything... even if part of her wondered what it would be like to fly above the clouds or to fly in a storm. Either way, she had accepted it for what it was. Flying was not her strength.

Again she bowed her head a little in thanks to the white stallion, watching as he carefully gathered the... fungus? She thought that was what it was called. Sometimes it was hard to learn new things, since people didn't usually explain what they were doing or what things were called unless you asked. Perhaps that explained why Auva had given certain things her 'own' name, not that it mattered since it all went on in her head anyway.

Auva walked behind Carlisle, unable to resist smelling some of the fungus not far from where he was doing his collection. She wrinkled her nose at it. Yuck!

Carlisle looked round and laughed softly at her expression. "Yes not very nice to smell, and not nice to taste either. But this fungus with some other herbs and bark makes a tonic to help cure some feavers.. and other things... now this..." Nudging a plant with his hoof, it was very leafy. "Mush it up and this makes a good antiseptis for cleaning wounds, though I usually add a little gypsum powder to make it more of a paste than a wash... most cuts are better covered by something for a time." Nipping leaves off the plant with his teeth, putting them into his bag again.

Auva listened, probably more enthusiatically than she would have ever expected from herself. It was the first time someone outside of her family had gone into detail explianing something to her... most liked you to at least ask first, since they was the usual indication that you were interested. She looked at the leaves and things indicated trying to commit them to memory; so that was an anticeptic.... that meant it kept the bad stuff away? Right? She was pretty sure that was the case but couldn't be completely confident in the fact. She nodded once more, hoping her silence wasn't annoying the angnei. Most didn't like being around her long, as if they feared they would tell her something they would regret or as if they feared she would attack and eat them... ok, so that was a little melodramtic but some of the looks... yeah, not comfortable.

"Tastes horrible, will make your tongue have pins and needles too, but it wont poison you unless you eat a lot of it." Turning around as he gets his bearings. "This way!" Heading off towards a small path worn in the grass, waiting for her to come with him, not about to leave her alone here or hurry off leaving her to catch up.

Auva paused for a moment longer than Carlisle, simply looking at what he had explained. Ok, that didn't seem too hard to remember... though she was slightly tempted to try it to see what he meant by 'pins and needles'. So.... she did. She scruntched up her face... yuck... but sure enough her mouth went numb, it felt like her tongue was too big for her mouth and she found herself making fish like movements as if trying to make sure there was enough room for her now oversiezed tongue. Of course it was all an illusion of the mind, but Auva didn't know that.

She followed after Carlisle, slightly less hesitant to stay close to him now. Still she was making fish like movements. Why had she done that again?

Carlisle looked at her and chuckled. "Tried it huh... its ok" Pulling a different leaf out of his bag and offering it to her to eat, this one was smaller and a slightly different colour. But it would take the feeling away. Waiting patiently while he waits for her to take it, holding perfectly still so she could do so.

Auva shied away a little with her expression at his words. Was it so obvious? Of course it was... who went around opening and closing their mouth like a fish all the time? Well, apart from a fish. The blush returned, and she was starting to wonder if it would become perminant, especially around Carlisle. She heard rustling and her curiousity got the better of her. A moment later the stallion was holding a leaf out to her and stood still. She still too, taking the step back so that she was facing him.... it was clear he was offering it to her, but... should she take it? She didn't even know what it was, though she was assuming it would help with the sudden numbness in her mouth? Hesitantly she moved closer, nearly changing her mind the moment before her mouth was a hairs width away from the leaf.... instead she took it. And as she chewed she had the sudden impression that she had just shared an 'indirect' kiss with the stallion... a stallion she didn't really even know anything about... in that moment she realised she could never tell her father, espcially as her heart skipped a beat.

She felt a little selfconscious, suddenly her skin was three sizes too small for her body and she couldn't do much else other than look at the floor with a shy expression on her face. Once she was done chewing she nodded again, though the movement didn't have much range since her head was currently held quite low. Her mind was fixated on one thought... indirect kiss.

Watching and nodding as she chewed, noting how she was seeming more timid and shy now. "Does it feel better?" His expression his usual friendly concern. "I know they don't taste good, but at least it feels better right?" Seeming a little worried that he upset her by laughing or something he had done, not thinking that she would view what had been him simply giving her soething as anything more than that. He had no hands so short of dropping it in the dirt how else could he give her things?
PostPosted: Sun Jul 01, 2012 12:07 pm

Auva nodded softly at the question, it did feel better. She also knew that it was likely all in her head, especially since the healer didn't seem at all bothered by what he had done. Gulping a little she looked up, even though the blush was throughly still in place. She looked around, seeking a distraction... any distraction, if only to break her thoughts. Nothing.

Carlisle smiled when she looked up. "This way, theres somethig here to take that taste from your mouth too, do you like apples?" Glancing at her again, not really able to see the blush but ignoring the little hint there was politely. Turning and wlaking slowly along the path, taking the not so clear bit s othat she could have it.

Auva's ears peeked up a bit at the mention of apples. Yes, she loved apples. They were probably the one fruit she liked to guiltily enjoy. Most prefered the sweeter berries t hat were in season during the longer winter months... but she didn't. Perhaps they were slightly too sweet or sour for her liking, whichever it was.

Seeing the apple made her eyes light up but she made no move to take it.

Turning his head to grab the branch, the apple hanging on it, pulling it down so she could take the apple from it. Having grabbed the thin bit so he didn't have his fangs ripped up from them imbedding int othe soft wood.

Auva hesitated again, eventhough Carlisle wasn't actually touching the apple this time. Part of saw the action as sweet, and it made her wonder if he was always this sweet... of course he was. He was a healer. That made her feel a little bad for thinking warped thoughts in the first place.

Gulping slightly she reached up to take it, her teeth sinking into the flesh so she could pull it free. One... two... thr-- she flew backwards, landing on her rump with the apple in her mouth; looking rather likes a stuffed pig. She blinked, her eyes watering a little from the bump. She nearly wimpered, probably would have had the apple not been in her mouth.

That made him blink, having let the branch go when she flew back, shaking apples from the tree to land on him. Ducking his head as a couple bounce off it. Moving over to Auva and bending down to her level. "Are you ok? Nod if your ok... we can work out what hurts once past that." Eyeing the apple in her mouth worridly, not sure if she had bitten her tongue or maybe had a bit of apple to choke on. but if she was hurt and he tried to take it, it might look like he was taking advantage of her. "Are you able to drop the apple in my bag? I'll give it back when I know you're ok, I promise. Just let me make sure you havent harmed yourself with that tumble."

Auva couldn't believe what had just happened, not only had she fallen but her falling had caused a chain reaction that sent apples flying and landing on Carlisle. What a waste, she felt just as bad about that as she at the possibility that Carlisle was hurt.

Auva was fine, except for the slight bruising of her already weak ego. She lowered her gaze, closing her mouth so that a chuck of apple came off in her mouth. She chewed it, feeling the juices swirl in her mouth as the apple fell into Carlisle bag. Auva was used to doing as she was told, had in fact never disobeyed anyone. Come here, do that. She did it all without hesitation. Which is why, despite the fact she just wanted to get up and run away, she remained still and nodded as Carlisle had requested. Indiciating that she was ok. Still, she didn't look up again at him. The grass was so pretty.... not... but anything other than the white stallion, with his look of concern and gentle expression would do right now.

Carlisle smiled, looking relieved. "Hey... hey look at me, its ok, its jsut a stumble, lomg as no one is hurt what does it matter hmmm?" Giving a rueful smile and another look over, leaning down more to try and meet her eyes, looking funny upside down. "Does anything hurt?"

Again her instinct to follow commands sunk in and she looked up at Carlisle, even if he was slightly upside down and looking at her with concern. It melted some of her embarassment, and she tilted her head a little to the side in a silent 'sorry', before answering his question and shaking her head. Her rump was throbbing a little but it was only from the impact, she couldn't tell if anything else was wrong right now.

She tried to smile, her expression a little shy again. Her eyes turned and locked on the apple.

Smiling and nodding thinking she would know if anything was really hurt so he stepped back. "Ok can you stand? If nothing hurts when you do that I think you have gotten away with a few minor bruises. Which is a good thing as far as injuries go. Now lets get you up, you an have your apple back and I'll pick up all the others so they don't get wasted, we can take them back for everyone." Smiling, not seeming troubled at all from a few apples bouncing off of him, he had had worse. Stepping back to allow her room to stand, his eyes watching like a hawk, in case she is more hurt than she had admitted to.

Auva nodded automatically, she was pretty sure she could stand, and when he gave her room she tried. She stumbled a little, but more from loss of balance than injury... at least until she tried to put weight on her back leg. It stung a little and her facial expression showed a wince even as no sound escaped her lips. Ouch! Still she put her foot down fully, not willing to let the healer see she was hurt. Softly she smiled over at him, even as her mind shouted 'owww' over and over again.

Auva was pleased that they were planning on saving the apples, she really wouldn't have liked to wasted them.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 13, 2012 1:07 am

Carlisle sighed and looked at her, shaking his head. "You may not make a sound little one but I've had years of reading faces and body language, you would be stunned how often I'm lied to about what actually is wrong.... Please let me have a look at your leg, I'd rather not have to answer to your father if I brought you home hurt and had done nothing to help you." Tilting his head, expression gentle, smiling faintly and a little sadly. "Please sit and let me see whats to be done, after we can get the apples together and be on our way." Thinking he should take her home before he got er hurt again.

Auva followed orders, sitting down and holding up her her tender hoof... even as her mind tried to chastise her for her automatic responce, it seemed silly that she should always just follow what everyone said, like a 'sheep' who couldn't think for herself. Auva could think for herself, she simply didn't like confrontation. Didn't like to upset others, or disappoint them. She tilted her head softly as if to say 'sorry' for lying, she had only done it try and save him worry or trouble. Too late.

When he mentioned getting the apples and leaving she couldn't help but feel a little disappointed, after all, she had just started to enjoy herself. But if injuried she supposed it was only right that she went home.

Smiling dispite being worried about her. "Don't look so disappointed, maybe if your not too badly hurt and not in pain we can carry on. But I wont have you walking around in pain for no good purpose. Now... please pardon me... with no hands theres no other way to do this." Gently using his nose to feel where she had injured herself, soon able to tell it wasn't broken, it not having swolen instantly so the ligaments were fine. Stepping back and looking at her a moment, feeling bad for having to nose around on her hoof like that, knowing she was somewhat shy. "can you move it around so I can see which movement hurts please?" Needing to know how serious the sprain was and sadly she couldn't tell him, though his expression said clearly he disliked causing her pain. Having resigned himself to the fact that sometimes healing required a little hurt.

Auva blushed a little as he touched her, not because there was any meaning behind his touch but it was rare for anyone outside of her family to touch her. When he asked her to move her leg she nodded softly and gave it a little wiggle. Forward, backwards and around. She winced a little at the forward motion and for some of the circle..... a little embarrassed at herself she looked to the ground. Carlisle surely saw her as a weak mare.

Carlisle gave her a pleased smile. "Its just a minor sprain, it will be sore for a day or two thats all... nothing serious." Stepping back and giving her a nod that she could get up when she wanted to. "You should rest it though, but as long as it doesn't hurt too much I'll be happy to share your company some more." Starting to pick up the apples, letting her get up in her own time.

Auva felt very much like a filly being pampered and indulged. Why did she suddenly hate it? Why did she suddenly want to be seen as more than a helpless and useless little girl?! Had she not been of help to Heze's friend? She had practically worn herself out trying to help save his life.... but still, nothing changed for her. Everything stayed the same. She frowned, realising for the first time that she did want things to change... but how? How did she changed things? Auva had no idea.

She got back up, wobbling a little as she automatically went to use her injuried leg as her leverage point to rise. Mistake. She nearly stumbled over but caught herself by opening her wings wide. Sometimes it was rather handy having them... even if she couldn't fly as high as most Angeni. Back on her hooves she moved to help Carlisle gather the apples, taking pressure off her hoof whenever she could to allow it some 'rest' as ordered.

He hadn't mised that frown, though he had no idea what he had said that had sparked it. He was enjoying the company of the quiet young mare, should he not have told her that? He had no idea, but then he had been alone for a long time, and while he had children he had never fathered them. Sighing confused as he finishes picking the apples up with Auva. Looking at her, his bag bulging with the apples, looking to her leg again. "I didn't mean to make you angry, I'm not sure what I said that did... I'm sorry though."

Auva listened to Carlisles words and blushed, shaking her head swiftly in an effort to tell him it wasn't about him. Just some random thought that had bothered her. Yet, there was no way to really tell him that so she stopped moving, at least until she tilted her head softly and shrugged. Perhaps they could at least put it behind them? After all, she had been rather enjoying his company and learning new things. It was nice to have someone who actually took an interest in her, even if it was only a small one. Of course, she wasn't foolish enough to believe that Carlisle saw her as anything more than one of his charges, but still. It was nice to have some company.

He mirrored her shrug and smiled, she didn't look mad now, though he dearly wished that she could at least tell him a few things. Sometimes when he looked at her she seemed lost in a crowd... Everyone talked, everyone else was more overt, more vivacious. But her quiet gentle way was not something that usually grabbed a stallions attention, and while he appreciated it he was all wrong for her for many reasons, besides he had a tendancy to father everyone which is probably why he had never found a mate. Pulling a face faintly at that thought he looked around. "Lets get some of this bark over here then, you have to be careful when gathering bark, you need to change the tree you get it from every time because it can kill the tree otherwise." Falling easily back into teacher mode, she seemed interested and heavens knew she had more of a talent for healing than he did, he wasn't at all sure Haki would have survived without her.

Auva had never really considered the idea of taking a mate, and until Haki had been revealed along with Heze's obvious connection with him -even if it was only friendship- Auva had believed that none of her sisters had either. She liked to watch the couples of the herd, most ignoring her or not noticing her presence as they were lost in their own thoughts and worlds, worlds that only contained two people. What would it be like to be like that? She didn't know, she couldn't even begin to contemplate it either.

With a smile she listened as the 'lesson' continued. Bark. Why would they need back? She tilted her head as he spoke of it, wondering if he would tell her more about it or just show her how to collect it. Either way she would listen with interest, gulping up any and all information she could get her hooves on.

"This bark here when made into a tea or a broth can help break a feaver." Looking over the tree, making sure he hadn't been to this one before, spotting a good patch to pull some bark off while he did. Leaning in and wedging his teeth into the small split he found, a little wiggling and some caregul pressure an a decent sized chunk came off that he set on top of the apples in his bag. Pulling a few faces afterwards almost like he was settling his teeth back down. "That much will last a very long time." Smiling at her afterwards, pulling something out the pouch on the front of teh bag, setting it down by her hoof. "Here it will help with the pain of your hoof and keep any swelling down."

Auva listened again, so fever.... that was when you got really really hot right? Burning up and sweating? At least that's what she thought it was, when she was a foals he was sure someone mentioned her having a fever once or twice. She would try and remember that, looking at the particular tree in question. Though, she had no idea how to make 'tea'.

Watching with eager eyes as he collected a large chunk of bark with his teeth she couldn't help but wonder if that hurt, especially given the way he moved his mouth as if in pain afterwards. Did he often hurt himself to gather the ingredients needed to treat his patients? She had to wonder... but part of her realised the answer was 'yes'. Auva predicted he would risk himself to save or help someone else.

Carlisle smiled at her, nudging the pill ball thing towards her. "Try not to chew it ok...." Taking an apple out and putting it next to the pill thing. "Better have that after it to get the taste out your mouth... I'm still working on making them taste better." He didn't seem hurt, in truth prying the bark off with his teeth didn't hurt, it just pulled his teeth in the wrogn direction and made them feel weird for a while. "You are too young to look worried like that." If she knew his past she might not even have questioned that, but then its not like she could ask anyone, as it was he didn't talk about it much, none of them did that knew.

Auva looked down at the offered thing again, and although a little reluctant she did as she was told and tried to swallow it whole, something that proved to be easier said than actually done. She felt like gagging, and stuck her tongue out in distaste after finishing.... yuck! She was suddenly glad she didn't have to take them every day, a new appreciation appearing for Haki and what he had to put up with. Eating the apple she didn't look up or react much to Carlisle's words. What could she do? She worried, it was in her nature, but on a deeper level she wasn't really sure what exactly Carlisle meant. Oh the barriers of silence.
