Another day, another adventure through the desert. Samril was really getting tired of the desert. His trip to Soudul had been a welcome reprieve from the never-ending sand and heat. There had even been a lake! And he'd made friends, which was super nice. Friends were the bestest things ever!
If only he had some friends with him now to help keep his mind off the heat and sand. Stupid sand... it got in everything and was not fun to try and get out! Surely he'd carried half the desert home with him from his various trips already!
Samril sighed and glanced around. Sand, sand, everywhere was sand. And the occasional rock... but mostly sand. Gritty, annoying sand. Blech. He glanced around some more, looking past the annoying sand to see if there were any dragons about.
And indeed there were dragons around. Several, in fact. Though, sadly for Samril, they were grouped close together. Scowling, the Dovaa kicked at a rock, spraying sand before him. These Kiandri were too tough for him to take in a group. He'd have to find one alone.
He headed in the opposite direction of the group of dragons, muttering under his breath about the stupid heat and his stupid hat and the stupid sand. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Samril carried on in his fashion for a while until the heat made even his breathless muttering stop. It was just too hot to complain for very long. He fished out his canteen and drank deeply, wishing for a moment that he was a Peisio like his family since they could summon cold water instead of his warm, leathery tasting water in the canteen. But, they would have a harder time fighting the Kiandri dragons than he. Each clan had its pros and cons and Samril knew that. He'd studied them all when he'd been unsure of which to choose.
And he knew that eventually he'd come across a Gaili dragon and that would be a tough fight for him. The Gaili were already tough and hard to beat, but electricity did nothing to them. On the other hand, the Gaili were not as tough of opponents for his Peisio brothers.
Finally Samril spotted a lone Kiandri ahead. Excited, he took one quick drink and put his canteen away. Time for a good old fashioned fight! He was really getting to enjoy the fighting, though he enjoyed making friends more and enjoyed the walking around to find a dragon way less. Especially when that walking involved a lot of sand.
But he'd found his target and Samril quickly ran in, getting in his two fast attacks. He liked starting off with a double surprise attack! He couldn't wait to show that to Kavanna whenever he finally tracked her down for a rematch. But, that was for later. Right now, he needed to focus on the dragon in front of him.
The battle was not a long one. Once again, in Kiandri fashion, Samril and the dragon went all out early on and the fight was short, with Samril emerging victorious before long. Grinning, he watched as the dragon turned to bones and picked up his soul orb. He was getting quite a collection of these now. He really should show them off to his family soon!
