He stank, he was covered in glitter, and he'd barely remembered to grab his dad's coat before heading for the lake--a punk boil on a mission. Sure Danny was following him, but that was her own fault--he'd told her what he planned on doing!

The moon gleamed down on the lake , making it look almost romantic... which was totally lost on the pair. Roch kicked off his boots, pulled his phone out of his pocket, and took his hat off, placing all the things in a pile next to the lake before he backed up several feet--ran--and jumped in. (He would have gotten a 2 for his entry, IJS. But oh well.)

He came up, his hair hanging over half of his face, a look of irritation on his face as he glanced down at his white shirt. "Nope, still too much glitter," he called to her, ducking back under. He was totally corrupting the lake water--he didn't care.

A few seconds later he came up again, floating on his back in the water and staring up at the moon. "Danny, come closer, I ain't gonna splash," he told her, snorting at the idea. Okay, splashing might have been funny, but he wasn't that mean.

He let out a laugh, enjoying the cool water--inside the auditorium it had gotten downright hot--and not in a good way. "Hey... you okay?" he asked after a bit. "I mean... shouldn't you be with Rikki right now?"

"Oh... yeah, nah, I'm sure he's fine," Roch said, still lounging in the water, hoping the smell would be better when he got out. "Danny... I got a problem. Like, a serious, serious problem," he said finally. "I got no clue what to do."

"Eh, ain't the first time," Roch said. (Wait, whut?) But he went on, "This is way more serious--like to the point I might haveta go into hiding. I mean... what the jack am I supposed to do when the old geezers find out I actually WON the Jester title? Isn't that like, the laughing stock of the school, or somethin?"

"Soakin' wet, here, Danny!" he yelled after her. Then he snorted, not bothering to go on--she was already gone anyway. Instead he stared at the moon, his mind flashing back to the image of Amphi clinging so tightly to him, right in front of her date.

How would he feel if his date did something like that? Heck, Bacca--whatever disappeared, doing who knows what, so he guessed that wasn't the right question to ask. But the real question was--did Amphi do that to ALL the guys? Did she just fling herself at them, holding on until they had no choice but to hug her back? How many other guys had crushes on her?

Jaaack, he really needed to get out of this situation. He didn't feel up to joining a melee over a ghoul that possibly had an entire army followin' her around! He'd dealt with that problem before... sort of.

"You were gone?" Roch asked, glancing over at her--then staring. "Wha--where'd you get the crown?" he asked curiously, inwardly amused. Trust Danny to leave for a mask and come back with a crown. "Princess," he added.

Roch swam back to the bank, climbing out and dripping everywhere. He grabbed his things. Then he started for the campus dorms. "Desu, huh? Yeah, I can see that," he said with a grin. "It suits you," he decided. "You have fun at prom?" he asked.
