User Image Still new to the world, but brave enough to venture away from her mother's side, the little gray cub managed to find herself all alone outside the den. It was so dark! Xuba had never seen the night sky before, and hadn't made it more than a few paces away from the den before her pale silver eyes were drawn upwards. In all her (short) life she had never seen something so pretty. Even prettier than mama, and mama was the most beautiful thing ever according to the young cub.

So there she was, sitting back on her haunches with big round eyes glued to the blue, black, and shimmering sky above. What were those things? They weren't clouds... they weren't fluffy enough! Maybe they wanted to play? A big smile swept across her tiny face and Xuba leapt to her paws, waiting expectantly for one of the shiny dots to come down and play with her. After a moment her smile faded and was replaced with a slight frown and soon turned into a pout. "Don'cha want ta play?" she huffed up at the stars, worried that they didn't like her. Hmm, maybe they needed help getting down? The sky was pretty big after all. Or, and she gasped at this thought, maybe they were stuck up there? How terrible! They were too pretty to be all alone where no one could play with them.
