Reminder: these matches are one pokemon per person, but like a Gym battle you'll roll to see who goes first before sending out pokemon. It doesn't matter what order you post those introductory/order-rolling posts. The battlefields are a plain concrete floor, no bonuses or penalties to anyone. I would like it if people finished their fights in three weeks or less, purely in the interest of keeping this tournament moving, but it's not required. --- Ryu Edit: I lol'd. BD ARK X LETO; Y/N?

Doyle walked into the stadium wondering why he had signed up for the battle tourney in the first place. He looked around wondering who his opponent is. He already knew which pokemon he would be tossing out.

Genesis entered the stadium with Leto atop her shoulder. The Rattata was pressing its dirty paws eagerly on Genesis' face, encouraging the trainer to hurry up and get to the battle already. Luckily (or perhaps not) for the Rocket, she was well-used to her Pokémon's antics, and ambled along as she liked, ignoring the insistent pressure on her cheek.
It seemed she had entered later than her opponent did, and she shielded her eyes from the overhead lighting to see who she'd be up against. Her gaze instantly fell upon familiar blonde hair, and she waved eagerly as soon as she had recognized her partner.
"I didn't think I'd see you here," she called.

((*brobump* This shall be an epic battle. XD )) Doyle instantly recognized his opponent. "Same here." He said letting Ark out. It seemed it would be a battle against rivals.... for the pokemon at least. Ark let out a hiss of disdain when she spotted the Rattata. Ark was not happy at her choice in opponent. She looked up at Doyle giving him a 'do I have to?' look. "Yes Ark you're the one fighting. I don't trust the other two to go up Leto." He said to his pokemon.  950 HP

Genesis snickered when she saw who would be battling this time around. She wondered if Leto would ever win, or if the Rattata was doomed to fail when it came to Ark. However, she kept those thoughts to herself, and took on a more passive stance. Doyle knew she let her Pokémon fight by themselves, without trainer input, and she was glad she wouldn't have to pretend otherwise for now.
Without a moment to spare, Leto leapt off from her perch to join her nemesis in the field. She let out a war cry that might have been impressive, had it come from another not quite as small as her, and dashed towards her opponent.

Doyle barely caught the snicker and grinned. It would be interesting to see if Ark could keep up her streak against this Rattata. He then saw that Genesis took her passive stance which was typical of her when they battled. She didn't give any input like he would do sometimes.
Ark saw Leto dash towards her and hoped to catch her off guard somewhat. Her eyes teared up and soon she was crying making noises about how long it had been since they had seen each other.

Leto, touched by Ark's earnest feelings for her, lowered her defenses against the genuine Zorua. Alas, Leto was not the best of Pokémon when it came to... well, being sane, and she quickly followed up her heartfelt response with a Rock Smash to the knee.

Ark quickly jumped away from Leto as she used the Rock Smash. It had startled her a bit making her lower her defenses. Putting a decent sized gap between them she quickly calmed herself down almost as if she was meditating.

Not one to let an opponent get away (Leto preferred close-range attacks), the Rattata quickly ran after the Zorua. Her glowing paw made it evident that she intended to strike with another Rock Smash.

Ark saw the glowing paw but she was again calming her mind so she paid it no heed. A few small rocks hit her but again she paid it no mind. She was working on recovering her lost defense.

Saddened by her friend's insistence on ignoring her, she gave a pitiful cry and curled herself up into a ball. She rolled herself about forlornly for a moment after, lost to her sudden depression.

Seeing the Rattata curl up in a ball made Ark grin evilly. Soon the grin was gone and sad cry filled the air. More tears were shed as she tried to lower Leto's defense.

The tears drew Leto to even more despair, and she kept up her wild rolling. She attempted to console her friend and herself at the same time, but ended up crashing into Ark as a hamster in its ball would do to furniture.

Ark yelped in surprise more than pain when Leto rolled right into her. Growing irritated she lashed out with a counter attack. Maybe this would teach that rat a lesson.

Leto was pushed back by the force of it, and ended up sprawled on the uninviting cement floor. Bruxing with mirrored irritation, she aimed another Rock Smash at the female, this time with the intention of retaliating.
