The battle system in Lior is dice based. On each turn/post you will need to roll a dice. You are welcome (and encouraged) to RP while you dice roll for your battle as well. RPing while rolling will net you some RP points. In order to gain RP points you MUST have at LEAST 100 words per reply. Each reply will count as half a point. And remember; No godmoding. Though the dice controls the battles, if you RP, I please ask that you not try to control what your opponents pet does. Also, keep OOC talk in brackets of some sort.

Starting Stats
╚══════════════╝

Whether you choose a class or not is up to you. Doing so will net you some bonus points in certain stats (depending on class) and the ability to use class specific items.

You can start battling your pet at the kit stage. However, please keep in mind that your stats will be lower than if you start out as an adult. You also will not be able to choose a class until your pet reaches adulthood. Stats for each stage are as follows.

Kit Stage
HP: 100
*Attack: 15-20
*Defense: 5-10
*Stamina: 10-15**
*Speed: 1-5

Adult Stage
HP: 150
*MP: 10-15 (magic attack is only available as an adult)
*Attack: 25-30
*Defense: 15-20
*Stamina: 20-25**
*Speed: 1-5

*These stats will be rolled for to determine the set amount of each one.
**Stamina will have a cap of 50 points. Once your stamina reaches 50 you may no longer use AP to raise it.

╔══════════════╗
Classes & How They
Affect Your Stats
╚══════════════╝

Warriors: Get a boost of 5-10 points to attack.
Thieves: Get a boost of 3-5 points to stamina.
Alchemist: Get a boost of 5-20 points to MP.
Mage: Get a boost of 5-10 points to MP.
Archer: Get a boost of 3-5 points to stamina.
Priest/ess: Get a boost of 5-10 points to HP.

These are all one time boosts and will happen when you choose a class for your pet. You are able to battle without choosing a class, however, you will NOT get these bonus boots to your stats.

Rolling the Dice
╚══════════════╝

The way this battle system works is that you roll two dice to determine how powerful your attack and defense will be. This post will walk you through the basics of our system.

Before battling, take a look at your speed stats and determine who will go first. The pet with the highest speed stat goes first. If both pets have the same speed, then you must roll 1, 4 sided dice in the main thread. Who ever rolls the highest number, goes first.

Now, please take a look below to find out how to go about battling your pets.

Each post that you make you must roll 2, 12 sided dice. This will determine the effects your attack have.

1st dice - Attack
1-3: Miss
4-7: Half damage
8-11: Normal damage
12: Crit damage (double your base damage)

2nd dice - Defense
1-3: Failed block
4-7: Half block (lsay your def was 10...you'd only defend 5 instead)
8-11: Normal block
12: Evasion (no damage taken)

Each post/action takes away 1 stamina point. If you run out of stamina your pet faints and the battle is over.

After you've made your post and rolled, edit your post to include how much damage you've done and how much you have blocked.

EXAMPLE: Say you roll an 8 on the first dice and your attack is 18...so you'd put 18 attack. Then your second dice landed on 7 and your defense is at 8....so that'd put you at 4 damage blocked.

So at the end of your post you'd put something like this...

[Damage: normal attack = 18 total damage
Block: halved = 4 damage blocked]

Now, the way rolling for your defense works is a bit complicated. You both make a post and include your stats (you MUST place your stats in each post), any roleplay and your damage and blocking. No stats are changed in your first two posts. After these two posts you will record what each of those posts did.

So if I went first and did 18 damage, you'd wait 'til your second post to record that damage and take your defense from your first post into consideration when figuring your HP out. So say your defense was rolled at half and you have a base defense of 8. You'd block 4 defense and so I'd do 14 damage and your HP in your second post would be reduced to 86. Your stamina would also go down 1 point in your second post. Rinse and repeat!

This thread gives a rough example of a battle between two pets.
