Agrin and Agrisk, Initiative Roll
(invented characters - not for consideration)
It wasn't long at all before Agrin and Agrisk were up and back to being their cranky selves - they were both as thick-skinned as Agrisk was thick-skulled, and once their respective injuries had been treated, they were right back out on the front lines. Agrin was eager to find another fight, preferably one that ended with him as the winner this time! Agrisk, well, the bronze was always ready for a fight. Tunnelsnakes, felines, dragons, humans, other whers, it didn't matter what they were fighting as long as it bled.
Rumbling to himself as he walked in the twilight with his handler, the wher kept a keen eye out for any such opponent.

Dizzian and Green Courath: Initiative Roll
Dizzian and Courath had stayed at the clearing away from the battle at the Weyr, the young green rider's emotional state leaving her pretty much useless as a fighter or as help around the camp. As the day wore on she'd finally cried herself out though the stress and depression of not knowing the fate of her family still weighed heavily on her shoulders. She did what she could to assist the injured fighters as they were brought back to the clearing, following the orders of anyone who barked them out. Her actions were unenthusiastic and her open fear sometimes caused more harm than good.
The camp quieted as the sun began to set. She was called on less and less and finally slipped away into the forest with Courath at her heels. The two wandered alone, the green keeping a quiet eye on her distraught rider. Dizzian didn't think about what direction she was going in. She just let her feet carry her where they willed. Twilight settled thick upon them as she found herself nearing the Weyr.
Courath lowered her head, becoming ever more wary the closer they drew. She could smell the blood and smoke, the whers, dragons and humans who had passed by throughout the day.

Agrisk, Attacking Courath
It wasn't long before the bronze alerted, stopping in his tracks and sending a wordless warning to his handler. Someone approached. He restlessly shifted his weight from foot to foot even as he scented the air. People! Big! The wher didn't differentiate between 'people' plural and 'a people' in his alert.
Agrisk looked to his handler expectantly. Kill?
No sooner had Agrin nodded than the bronze launched into a run, bursting through the brush and throwing himself at the dragon.
It was not a very big big! This should be easy!

Agrin, Attacking Dizzian
Following close on the heels of his wher, Agrin was surprised to discover that the 'people' was a young woman, and the 'big' was merely a baby green. Faranth, what were they doing out here by themselves? Were the riders really that desperate or stupid?
"Y'shouldn' be here," he said gruffly, almost reluctantly, "But since y'are..."
The old handler lobbed a punch at the young rider.

Courath: Attacking Agrisk
Courath froze as she heard the underbrush rustling. ~ Mine... Was all the warning she got out before the large bronze wher flew through the air, tackling her. She hissed with surprise and rolled from the impact, feeling the first actual pain she'd ever experienced. ~ Mine! Be on Guard! ~
Skidding to her feet Courath's eyes blazed and she gave a high pitched roar, charging back at Agrisk. It pained her to just out and attack them but they gave her little choice. ~ Wher! Why do you turn on the Weyrs? ~ She called, even has her claws connected with his hide.

Dizzian: Attacking Agrin
Dizzian gave a bloodcurdling shriek as she was startled out of her thoughts by the wher's explosive entrance. Courath's warning was enough to make her raise her arms and squeeze her eyes shut, taking the Handler's hard punch in a less delicate area. Still the force knocked the unprepared girl to the ground.
~ Dizzianmine! Do not cower so! For your sake and mine you must fight back! ~
She gave a shrill grunt and launched a kick straight up at Agrin, unable to do anything else laying on her back as she was.

Agrisk, Attacking Courath
The baby big's claws raked his shoulder, slicing through his tough hide, but the wher seemed unphased by the pain. He loved fighting more than anything...okay, except for chasing after females, but that usually involved some fighting, too. With an incongruously happy sound for the situation, he snapped at the young dragon, trying to bite her neck.
Fight! was his only response. He liked to fight, and his Agrin told him what to fight. That was all he needed to know! Even by wher standards, Agrisk was simple at best.

Agrin, Attacking Dizzian
The sound of the girl's shriek caused Agrin to flinch, which in turn gave her an opening to kick him in a place he would really rather not have been kicked. He staggered back for a moment, but quickly forced himself to get over the pain and retaliate. He kicked at her where she lay, but he still wasn't quite seeing straight, and missed his target.

The wher's simple response was disgusting. Courath's eyes went wide as he lunged for her neck. She twisted away quickly, her small size turning what could have been a deadly blow into a scraping on teeth on hide. Ichor splashed down her pale neck.

Dizzian: Attacking Agrin
She felt the whiff of air as his kick just missed her. The young greenrider scambled to her feet quickly, glancing at Courath as the wher's teeth almost closed on her neck. Dizzian's heart clenched in fear. "COURATH!" Tears of fury filled her eyes and she swung an untrained punch at Agrin. "Leave her Alone!" She screamed at him, her voice breaking.

No! It would have been so much better if she hadn't moved! He would have been able to get a good bite, maybe even shake her around a little, and it would have been fun. Bellowing, he tried again to bite her, hoping to tear off a good piece.

For being not much more than a kid, she packed a pretty good hit. He brought up one solid arm to take the brunt of the blow, grunting. "Like I said, y'shouldn' be here."

Her quickness didn't save her twice. Though she tried to dodge again the bronze's teeth sank deep into her side, thankfully avoiding her wings. She squeeled in pain, buffeting Agrisk's face with her wing and tail, trying to get him to let go.

"I don't belong here?!" She hastily wiped her eyes on her sleeves, sniffling and gulping hard. "This is my home and you're trying to destroy it!" She flew at him again, throwing both of her fists wildly into it.

Yes! Making a pleased sound in the back of his throat, Agrisk sank his fangs in deeper and then pulled. Surely Agrin would be pleased if he gave him a chunk of this little green big!
