[This RP is for outdoor combat in Malvren. Please note in bold at the top of your post whether your character is flying or on ground level as well as what action you are taking (and against whom if applicable).
Flying characters cannot attack characters on the ground and vice versa.
Please note ‘flying with ___th’ if your human or wher is on a dragon; independently flying humans and whers will be captured by the powers that be and put in a zoo.
Whers may however be dropped off the back of a flying dragon and be considered flying themselves for one turn as they glide to the ground. In this case, please put gliding in bold to save confusion.
On their gliding turn whers may act as normal against another flying creature so long as you agree with the player of that character that they were below the wher when it was dropped if you are having the wher attack or grapple them. Flying characters may act as normal against a gliding wher.
If you enter the RP before combat begins, roll initiative on your intro post with each character/bonded pair. If you enter after combat has begun, just jump in!]

[A'nos and bronze Acriculeth: Flying together]
So this was Malvren then.
A’nos looked down upon the scene of chaos with a slight smirk, while Acriculeth looked around for opponents. A new world order, one that they would help to build. It was a gamble, and as a bronze rider of course he had opportunities to rise up through the ranks of the Weyr as it stood, but the systems were far too unstable for his liking. The post of Weyrleader was the most obvious example of this, but being a wingleader could be shaken up too if the new fellow who lucked into the top post didn’t like you as much as the last one had. Change was good, and showing that he was willing to give up his ‘privileged position’ as a bronze rider would only make the revolution’s leaders approve of him more....
Or it would make them suspicious of him of course, make them think he was a spy. Well, he could cross that bridge if it came to it but for now they had a Weyr to take over and, the element of surprise.

Adi and Blue Mazamath; Adi on the ground, Mazamath flying ((Forfeiting initiative roll in favor of obliviousness.))
See anything from there, Maz?
Are there any good flowers down there? the blue responded teasingly to his rider, hoping to cheer her up, if only for a moment. You haven't picked any pretty flowers for me lately.
It worked, and a brief, small smile crossed her lips. I know. Sorry, Maz. Maybe later.
He sent her a wordless feeling of affection as he wheeled back in her direction. He was flying low, and took no notice of the larger dragon in the sky above him. He had yet to truly adjust to being at war, and was not as observant as he could or should have been.

[A'nos, flying with Acriculeth.]
Ahh, and there was a target; not one of the dragons that had been identified to him as being for their cause, therefore probably an enemy. If not, well, one blow would hardly the blue.

[Acriculeth: Flying. Attacking Mazamath.]
Folding his wings back the bronze dived at the smaller dragon, unsheathing his claws and taking a swipe at the blue's back.

Z'fer, flying with Calanoth
They blinked from between just in time to see the bronze dive past Mazamath. Calanoth roared. ~ Mazamath! Look Alive! We're under attack! ~ Hopefully the rest of the Resistance's dragons would be showing up soon. He couldn't be sure of how their team within the weyr's caverns were faring. Out here it looked like it would get bloody and quick.

Opth: Flying solo (Invented Crimson Revolutionist)
Opth banked, the sounds of battle drawing her attention from the far side of the Weyr. Resistance dragons! Hers was inside fighting the intruders that had made it within the weyr. Now she would get a piece of the action though! Arciculeth she knew and recognized as one of their own, the blue he'd attacked was familiar and of course she knew of Calanoth but even before the attacks it was obvious as to who he'd side with.
She climbed higher, to get a better position against her opponents.

Mazamath (Flying), Attacking Acriculeth
By sheer luck, the blue looked up just in time to see a bronze shape diving at him from above, and banked out of the way to narrowly avoid what would surely have been a nasty hit. He bellowed his disapproval and twisted around in the air, using his agility as a blue to try and strike back fast.
Even as he did, Calanoth bespoke him. Dryly, he responded, No, really?

[Acriculeth. Flying (passenger A'nos). Attacking Mazamath]
This was not quite the flashy start Acriculeth had hoped for; the smaller dragon's claws raked down his side, leaving several lacerations. It was not the start that really mattered however, it was the finish. After taking stock of his surroundings - a couple of other dragons nearby - the bronze swooped after his blue opponent and tried for another swipe at the smaller dragon.

Mazamath (Flying), Attacking Acriculeth
The bronze's second swipe connected, and Mazamath hissed. It was a good thing he wasn't an especially vain dragon, because the evidence of these fights was sure to stay with him. The blue tried to bite his opponent, but missed.
A little help? he called to Calanoth. One blue against a bronze was hardly fair!

Calanoth(Flying w/ Z'fer): Attacking Acriculeth
Calanoth snorted, put off by the blue's sarcasm. Privately to Z'fer to grumped. ~ A Blue should not speak to his leader like that...~ Still. He WAS a leader and that meant protecting those he led. With a thunderous battle roar he dove for the traitor bronze, teeth flashing as he snapped at Acriculeth.
Z'fer pressed himself tightly to Calanoth's neck. This would be a lot more dangerous than fighting Thread, still, maybe his presence could afford his dragon a little protection.

Opth saw no problems with a bronze fighting a blue...so long as the bronze was on her team. But two against one? Now THAT wasn't a fair fight! As Calanoth attacked Acriculeth she zipped by him, claws extended to catch his wings as she passed.

The other male's teeth caught his hind leg, extracting a hiss of pain from the Benden hatched bronze. he commented dryly as he wheeled away and chased after the blue again extending his claws for another powerful swipe.

Mazamath (Flying), Attacking Acriculeth
Briefly, Mazamath felt a surge of satisfaction and relief when Calanoth swooped in to help, but it was short-lived. That sharding crimson was back again! You!
The distraction cost him, and next he knew, his opponent was raking claws across his hide, deeper this time. Roaring, he wheeled back around in an attempt to return the favor.

Calanoth, Flying with Z'fer: Attacking Acriculeth
Calanoth roared and faltered as the crimson's talons tore his wing. He wasn't out of the air just yet though. Regaining his stability he flew again at Acriculeth. He could take a few swipes from Opth but he had to get the other bronze off of Mazamath.
Z'fer growled. She'd pay for that! He sent waves of reassuring pride to his dragon. Calanoth was big and strong he could handle an attack from a weak little thing like her!
Calanoth took heart from his rider's praise. He'd fallen below the fighters so his attack was slower as he climbed through the air but once again he snapped at the bronze. ~ Your partner doesn't care for your attentions. I Do. ~

Opth twisted in the air, her body moving in a serpentine pattern as she mentally laughed at Mazamath. ~ Surprised little blue? I'll be coming for you next for round two! ~ She ducked underneath Acriculeth and Calanoth, angling up sharply to take a bite out of Calanoth's tail.
