Rolling for Initiative With no definite orders yet, F'nell was pondering what he should be doing. He was thinking that he should slip into the weyr and see if he couldn't acquire more numbweed. It was needed, and with everyone else seemingly occupied, seemed like the perfect sort of thing for him to be doing. He knew where the extra was kept, and how to get to it, even if it did mean that he and Krith would have to land a bit farther out and then walk in. Sounds like a challenge.F'nell grinned. That it is. You up for it?Always. They went between, coming out to land in the hatching grounds. [rolling initiative]
Laria didn't really know what was happening. Some other wherhandlers had told there would be work for her at the weyr, so she'd come. Only, when she got here some sort of massive fight had broken out. Someone had said the dragonriders were attacking the wherhandlers, someone else had said the handlers were attacking the riders, and nobody seemed to have much direction for her besides "Go out and fight them," whoever them was.
She ended up running into the Weyr to try and get some time to herself to catch her breath and figure things out. She ran blindly through the halls, with Larisk following loyally at her heels. He had even less idea what was going on, only that his bonded was scared and confused and dragons had something to do with her being unhappy.
After wandering aimlessly through the halls, they came out into an open, sandy space. She thought it might be the hatching grounds, based on Harper's tales she'd heard, though she couldn't be sure. But she didn't have much time to get a good look at it before a dragon appeared in the room.

Action/Attack We are not alone. His dragon said, alerting F'nell to the newcomers. It was a wherhandler, one partnered with a brown wher, and he frowned. Were they part of the rebellion? It was hard to tell, but it wasn't like he could just ask. Who on earth would willing admit that they were fighting on the opposite side of the person who was asking? Knock them out first, ask questions later.F'nell nodded. His dragon was right. He could always apologize if he was wrong. He slid down off the dragon, dropping down in front of the girl in a crouched position. Action/Attack Krith had also landed, but his eyes were on the wher. He knew that it, unlike another dragon, could be dangerous to His, as wher's could, and had, attack humans. He could not let that happen. He lunged forward, slashing at the brown wher with his claws. He hadn't ever fought a wher before, but it could not be that different than when he hunted prey, except that he wasn't trying to kill it. ----------------------------------------------------------- Brown Krith Hp: 60/60 Attack Damage:5 +2= (7 damage) Accuracy: 7-6=1 (Hit)

Laria took a step back when the dragons appeared, not sure what to do. She was trying to decide whether to run, try and talk or attack when the rider took the decision away from her. The man slid off and tried to kick her, and it was more luck than anything that she managed to stumble out of the way. She tried to kick back at him to defend herself, but she wasn't ready for a fight and her kick was poorly aimed.

Attack
Larisk was already on the alert for whatever had made his bonded so nervous. So when they were attacked he was ready to respond. The dragon may have hurt him, but the man was trying to hurt his bonded. The man was making her even more scared. The man was bad and had to be stopped.
Ignoring the bloody gash along his side, Larisk leaped at the dragonrider, trying to sink his teeth into the man.

Action/Attack F'nell winced in pain as the wher struck him, his fangs sinking into his arm. "Bloody wher!" he growled, his low voice tinged with pain. He balanced on his free hand, kicking at the wher with both of his feet, hoping to knock him away, even if that did mean that he would cause himself extra pain for the moment. ----------------------------------------------------------- F'nell Hp: 21/30 Attack Damage: 1+2= 3 (0 damage) Accuracy: 3-3= 0 (Miss)

Action/Attack Krith snarled, and dove at the wher, snapping his fangs at him. Forget trying to just knock him out, he was going to make sure that that wher was unable to hurt him. No, Krith. F'nell said, catching his dragon's train of thought. Do not kill.I will let him live,The dragon responded. For now. He altered where he was attempting to bite, which unfortunetly allowed the wher to escape his attack. With both the dragon and the rider focusing on Larisk, Laria was able to take a moment to get her feet under her and aim a little better. She didn't allow herself to think about what was happening. She had a feeling she wouldn't like what would happen if she did, and in the face of an angry dragon she didn't have time to think too much. She aimed another kick at the rider, hoping to get him away from her wher.

Larisk leaped over the rider's kick, barely noticing that the dragon had tried to bite him. His bonded was in danger. He needed to protect her. That was all that mattered. He snarled at the man before charging forward to slash with his clawed forefeet.

Action/Defending Rider With both the handler and the wher attacking his, Krith moved, pushing himself in between F'nell and the wher, so that his body would block at least part of the wher's attack. Brown Krith Hp: 56/60 Defending:2 +2 = 4 Defense given: 9-4 = 5 damage for F'nell Dmg: 4 hp from Krith

Action/Attack F'nell didn't even try to block, instead, he rolled with backwards with the force of her punch, and his attack, and then popped back up into a crouching pose. He lept forward, his hands held loosely in a semi-closed fist. He struck at the wher again, knowing that if they could take out the wher, this fight would be much easier. ----------------------------------------------------------- F'nell Hp: 12/30 Attack Damage: 2 +2= 4 ( 4 damage) Accuracy:4 -3= 1 (Hit)

The dragon had put himself between his rider and Larisk, bur that still left the rider open to an attack from Laria. She swung a punch at the man, very deliberately thinking of only surviving this fight. If she took out the rider, the dragon couldn't hurt her.

Larisk couldn't help yelping at little as he was punched in the snout, but he only shook his head and growled. A little thing like that wouldn't stop him from protecting his bonded! With a roar he rushed at the man, trying to tackle him to the ground.
