hey there! o uo/ welcome to my quest ~
I put a lot of thought into the symbolism and themes User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
for Sadie, and tried to keep it consistent throughout
most aspects of her character. I'm absolutely in love
with the designs of the canon characters and all the
little details that goes into making them unique and
meaningful; something a lot of people here in PM
have pulled of successfully and I hope to join them!

As a disclaimer I'm not sure what the States have for
ESL programs; but in Canada the English as a Second
Language kids are primarily taught separately than the
rest of their grade until their English skills are sufficient.
They still spend a considerable amount of time with their
class for subjects like art, gym, and anything not terribly
language-heavy. But I'm also no expert on the subject qq

many thanks to kotaline for brainstorming with me ~ <3

      YOUNG GIRL ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Name: Sadie Antonevna Klemencic [pr. Klemenchich]

      Color: xsoft mint - #73D79E █████████████

Age: Thirteen. Her birthday is November 25th~

      Nationality: Slovenian. xImmigrated when she
was six with her papa, mother, and granmama.

Home / Financial Status: Lower-middle class,
lives on the forth floor of a ten-story apartment
on the north-western edge of the Daisy District.

      School: Teufel Town Elementary&Middle School

Personality: Sadie would most certainly describe herself as your 'average preteen girl'. She's somewhat of a tomboy, having always preferred sports equipment to dolls or cooking play sets. She's very comfortable with who she is and overall seems to be a cheerful person, always smiling and eager to make a new friend or run about galavanting. Sadie rarely forgets a name and always asks with genuine interest about how someone's day was going. The overly outgoing girl has more than a bit of a silly side, often playing practical jokes on her pals- all in good humour, of course! Often teasing her friends, Dee enjoys playing harmless pranks; it's just her own way of showing affections and she genuinely means no harm. The young immigrant usually knows where to draw the line, but sometimes she can overstep her boundaries. Unfortunately Sadie isn't particularly funny, although she does indeed try since she loves a good joke. Usually it results in her butchering them to death followed by an awkward silence... Still, she loves to laugh, (even at herself), and loudly at that! Sadie has a roar of a chuckle for such a little girl, which goes along with her generally noisy personality. She's impatient and easily excitable given the right company, often getting too riled up and rowdy with her pals- especially when it comes to sports and more competitive games. She's extremely animated, with seemingly boundless energy! Despite that, Sadie is fairly easy going; things like grades and responsibilities are of little concern to her. Often her carefree nature is her downfall, as it's somewhat difficult for Sadie to get motivated by things that don't seem fun.

Sadie's number one passion is sports! Her favourite being football, or 'soccer' as it goes by in North America. She's usually an attacking forwarder, specifically a striker when playing with an organized team. Sadie also loves basketball, volleyball, hockey, lacrosse and is rather fond of swimming; but she'll play pretty much anything and be somewhat decent at it. Needless to say, she's usually among the first picked for games at recess and is a star athlete in gym class. She's grabbed a few MVP titles in her extracurricular sports teams, too! However, Sadie isn't the brightest of students and her grades certainly reflect that. Her mother tries to help her the best she can and Milena often saves Sadie from complete and utter failure, but the middle schooler still has been forced into taking tutoring lessons. If she were to fail her academics, Sadie couldn't participate in extracurriculars like sports- and she simply could have none of that! Dee's determined to have a career in athletics; perhaps a world league soccer player, a professional coach, or an Olympian~! She's both ambitious and fickle with decisions pertaining to her future in sports, but feels no pressure to make a choice anytime soon. Sadie would rot without physical stimulation everyday, as she needs to be both active and social to thrive happily. The Slovenian loves team games and sports, and thanks to her highly cooperative nature she works well in a group environment. What's gunna work? Teamwork! Sometimes Sadie can come off as bossy to her team mates in the heat of a match, as her strong will and stubbornness can sometimes rub people the wrong way. That same strong will is also responsible for many of her greatest successes- a double edged sword.

Sadie is confident in her own abilities when it comes to things in 'her territory', which primarily means physical activity. She can come off as quite arrogant if her skills are challenged or brought into question, having inherited a bit of her father's pride. And oh boy- that competitive streak! Sadie is a good sport, but she still doesn't like to lose one little bit. Still, that bold confidence often works to her advantage. Sadie is extremely courageous and likes pushing herself to the limit, and isn't afraid to charge into intimidating situations with her head held high. She's a bit of a risk taker, often acting rashly without sufficient forethought; Sadie's just more of a 'doer' than a 'thinker'.

Without fairly constant social approval, Sadie can feel unsure about herself and her abilities. She compensates with her overly friendly persona and all the hard work and effort she puts into sports. Even her light joking is somewhat of a subconscious way of squeezing out compliments and approval from her peers; Sadie's happiness is highly dependent on the people close to and surrounding her. Truth be told ever since her father left she's felt particularly vulnerable, burying herself even more into her comfort zone of physical activity and the praise that comes with it. She's extremely conflicted about the divorce- she wants her parents to be happy, but misses their life as a family terribly. Although her mother clearly isn't doing better, her father seems to be happier than he had been in years, despite how scarce their visits are. Sadie tends to hide her more intense or complicated negative feelings, forcing a smile despite her true emotions. She isn't close enough with anyone to feel comfortable talking about that kind of stuff- it's easier to just pretend nothing's wrong at all.

Appearance: Sadie has pale green (#99ffbd) hair that goes just past her shoulders. It's usually tied up into two low pigtails, each looped up into themselves. She has a short fringe, just barely grazing the tops of her eyebrows. Her wide inquisitive eyes are a few shades deeper (#73D79E) than her hair. Sadie is of average height for a girl her age, reaching just a tad above five feet tall. She's relatively wirey, thanks to her dedication to and love of sports. Her legs are especially toned from soccer; under peachy skin lays a firm layer of muscle. Having barely reached puberty Sadie is just starting to develop her lady-like curves... something she's not too pleased with. She tries to hide her developing body with baggy clothing, compensating by wearing constricting sports bras and tank tops under her many layers. Sadie favours bright colours, especially greens, reds, and yellows. Her closet has many cute graphic tees and boldly patterned sweaters, but you would never, ever find a skirt or dress! She almost never wears pants, either; Sadie doesn't like how constricting they can feel. It's hardly a problem anyway thanks to the glorious Californian heat- she always hated the cold winters of her motherland Slovenia. If it does happen to be on the chilly side she'd simply wear a pair of leggings under shorts, or don a pair of brightly coloured sweatpants. She absolutely adores fancy name brand sneakers, but can rarely afford them. When she does manage to get a pair Sadie will take immaculate care of them to ensure they last as long as possible. She likes baggy socks and is almost always seen in a brightly coloured varsity jacket, her absolute favourite article of clothing. Closet Polyvore ~
(outfit is up to artistic interpretation, ignore my crappy doodle in the first post heh xD)

User ImageHistory: Sadie was born in the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. She was the only child of Anton and Milena Klemencic; a moderately successful pharmaceutical representative and his pretty young trophy wife. Anton always had bigger dreams for his life- dreams of moving to America. Thanks to his fairly decent English he had been able to travel overseas to the States on business often, instantly falling in love with the diverse and flashy culture. He claimed it was 'bigger and better' than their homeland, that he would be able to make much more money there than he ever could in Ljubljana. He promised his wife they'd be happier in America; he could provide more, she would learn English with ease and would transition comfortably to their new home. Milena remained unconvinced, although admittedly intrigued. However, soon after Sadie's birth he managed to convince her otherwise- what mother doesn't wish for a better life for their child? After agreeing to wait a few years to save up money and let their daughter grow out of her infancy, it was decided. They'd move to a bustling island off America's west coast, and on the condition Milena's widowed mother Pavla came along with them.

Fast forward half a decade. Shortly before Sadie was scheduled to start grade school in the States, the Klemencics moved to their new home in Teufel Town. Sadie's transition was fairly smooth; she had picked up minor English from her father and barely needed two years of ESL classes before catching up to the language level of her grade. She didn't find it too difficult to fit in with the English-speaking children; just shy out of kindergarten, most of their social interaction involved running around and playing simple games not so different from the ones Sadie played in Slovenia. Her English remained thick with a Slavic accent until she was just shy of 10, before it almost disappeared altogether. It tends to pop out every now and then, but overall Sadie seems like your average American girl. Her mother, however, didn't take to the new country as well. She felt terribly isolated from this strange, new world and struggled with English; everything overwhelmed her and she fast slipped into a minor depression. She often chose to stay home with her mother instead of adventuring out of their humble apartment, only leaving to do everyday, necessary chores. The elderly Pavla had no particular desire to leave home except to shop for groceries; and so the two remained in their own little world, only ever really socializing with the other Slavic immigrants at the European markets. They are both capable of speaking the most basic of English, enough to carry on a broken conversation that one may need to have with say, a sales clerk or bus driver. They often depend on Sadie to help with translations when further communication is needed; especially on the telephone. She doesn't mind, although sometimes it can prove to be quite a hassle that they can't communicate properly themselves.

Sadie's middle namesake and father, Anton, knew what to expect of America and wasn't as culture shocked as his ethereal wife. However, he found making it big in the States to be more challenging than previously anticipated. He often worked long, unfulfilling, gruelling hours- yet he was barely pulling in enough money to support their average family of four. Anton took this quite hard; he had been fairly successful in Slovenia, and his pride was wounded. Still, he pressed on and continued to provide for his family, doing his best to spend time with his only child when he had a few spare hours.

So it came as a total surprise to Sadie when shortly after her twelfth birthday, her parents sat her down, told her they loved her very much and announced their impending divorce. It took her completely off guard; she hadn't seen any sign of a strained relationship between her parents, aside from her father's constant absence due to work. Truth be told they had been having some relationship problems for awhile, but had agreed to be civil and keep it away from their daughter to avoid hurting her. Regardless she took the news rather hard, locking herself up in her room and refusing to eat for several days. Sadie did finally accept her parent's decision, albeit reluctantly. Anton moved out of their small apartment into his own bachelor in the Business District, while Sadie remained with her mother and granmama. Sadie still visits her father, but if anything Anton's work hours are even more hectic and it's only once in a blue moon that she even gets the chance to see him. He often cancels last minute, prompting fights between him and his ex-wife. Sadie just wishes they'd get along like before...

      Family:
Anton Henrikovich Klemencic - father 42, Pharmaceutical Rep
Sadie was always a daddy's little girl. Growing up she ended up being somewhat of a tomboy, and consequently bonded well with her father. Somewhat of a proxy for the son he had always wanted, they had a mutual love of sports; both for watching and playing. Football or 'soccer' being their personal favourite. He used to attend each and every one of Sadie's games, and if he didn't have any other previous engagements he'd accompany her to sports meets and practises too. In her early adolescence he was certainly her favoured parent; he would even sing to her almost every night before bed in their native tongue when she was smaller. Anton continues to try and be a good father to Sadie and is very proud of her accomplishments, although he only sees her once or twice a month and perhaps doesn't put as much energy into planning their visits as he should. Anton is always on time with his child support cheques and often sends extra money; although that doesn't mean squat to Sadie. Although she doesn't blame either of her parents in particular for the divorce, Sadie does feel more resentment towards her father as he was the one that left. She feels somewhat abandoned and doesn't like that the responsibility of babying her mother and granmama through anything English was left to her. Still, she loves her papa and misses him dearly... but is too stubborn and proud to quite forgive him for leaving.

Milena Bogdanovna Klemencic - mother 35, Housewifemother & part-time Cashier
Sadie's mother was a dreamy sort of woman, too pretty for her own good. She was swept off her feet at a young age by a charming up and coming businessman who soon had a diamond ring on her left hand. Anton often pestered her to move to America, spinning wild tales of what it was like- but she didn't want to leave Slovenia, intimidated by what little she knew of the West. That all changed when they got pregnant, as what little she did know of the West was promising for the children that were raised there. Bringing her widowed mother for company, Milena moved to this strange new world, nervous and bright eyed. Despite her best efforts Milena didn't take to the States- too busy, too crowded, too confusing. She pined for her motherland, but Sadie was blossoming and was doing far too well to dislodge her from their new home in Teufel Town. Hermiting to their small apartment and the sparse, predominantly European plazas and shops, Milena created her own miniature Slovenia. She grew resentful towards her husband for convincing them to move, and the two grew distant. After the divorce not much seemed to change in Sadie's mother, aside from her getting a part-time job at a local European grocery store. While they do love each other Dee and her mother have always struggled to bond, since Milena was into boys, dolls and dresses when she was her daughter's age. They do still have a fairly strong relationship, despite their lack of common interests. Milena tries to spend time with her daughter as much as possible, but Sadie remains somewhat distant because of the divorce. Milena has been actively trying to fix their relationship by investing more effort into her English skills and showing an interest in the sports her daughter watches- but it's slow progress. Luckily for her Sadie, Milena was quite the student in her time and is always there to offer her a much needed hand with homework- so long as it isn't English!

Pavla Ladislavena Petrovic - maternal grandmother 68, Retired
Now a widow, the ageing Pavla had little to leave behind in her homeland of Slovenia. Her beloved husband Bogdan had passed away some years ago; before Milena and Anton had even met. Her daughter and grandaughter were her only immediate relatives left alive, as Milena too had been an only child. So Pavla gladly moved with them to America; what better way to live out the last of your years but somewhere 'exotic'? In her advanced years Sadie's granmama is extremely wise and mellow, hardly ever loosing her wits even with the language barriers. She has the patience of a saint due to her many years of life experience and it takes quite a bit to get her riled up; Pavla can keep a cool and logical head in even the most complex or emotional of situations. As for the divorce she feels sympathetic towards her daughter, but is far more concerned with Sadie's well being and education. She's perfectly content spending her days keeping the house clean and cooking delicious homemade food for her family, making herself useful in any way she can. She spends her free time rereading favourite books of her past; all in her native tongue, of course! Pavla has also found herself rather fond of daytime television... particularly soap operas. Sadie has a nagging feeling that the old woman understands more English than she claims to, what with all the tv she watches... but if Pavla does, she certainly doesn't let it on.

      PUELLA MAGI ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

      Language: Slovene

Desires: To have a complete family, to return and keep a loved one home, to reunite her parents and once more have a father in her life.

Emblem: A simple keyhole. It symbolizes her refusal to let go, how she 'locked away' her papa with a wish, and her own habit of locking up her true emotions in favour of a forced smile.

Weapon: A handle less oversized flail, similar to the weapon seen in the middle here. The spiked ball is oversized almost to a comical point, and the opposite weighted side kept in her fist is up to artistic interpretation, (perhaps a lock?). Sadie uses her weapon much in the style of a slungshot. While concepting her weapon I kept the theme of 'ball and chain' in mind.

Type of Magic: Still somewhat unsure on the magic...
Sadie has the ability to create rounded metal cages that seem to grow out of thin air. The bars sprout from the ground, (or walls/whatever works), reaching around their target; branching off to create a grid until finally connecting neatly at the top. They can be used either defensively or to capture a target to make it easier to attack, although it doesn't usually prove terribly helpful fighting witches and is more suitable for their minions. The cages represent how she returned and kept her father in the family with her wish, somewhat against his will.

Outfit: The general look I'd like to strive towards is delicate, frilled and lacy features hidden within medium-bulk armour to fit the daddy's little girl/angel/princess theme and her innate desire for protection. Sadie's magical girl palette should be primarily composed of grays (or silver for the armour) and pastel greens and blues- something along the lines of this. I imagine her outfit to be a delicate, armoured dress complete with a visible cage skirt- a subtle nod to the nature of Sadie's wish. She also has an armoured forehead visor where her soul gem lays encrusted (unless the artist thinks it's better over her chest/heart?). I'm unsure what armour exactly would be fitting for the outfit, but I'd like it if she had full arm armour, potentially pauldrons as well if it worked nicely. If possible I'd like her to have some sort of under bust to her outfit, similar to some of these images that I'm including for general inspiration! [one] [two] [three] [four] [five] [six]
I also think it'd be cute if the top of her hair loops in her PM form had some sort of covers/ribbons but disregard this if it looks silly/crowded. o uo

      WITCH ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

      Name: Atalanta

      Type: Chamber Witch

Description: The Chamber Witch, with a forsaken nature. She searches endlessly to return what she once cherished and believes was wrongfully taken from her, although she can no longer remember what it was. It left her long ago, and the only thing Atalanta can remember is a faint, unhappy song...

      Nature: Forsaken

Appearance: The bulk of Atalanta's design is a rounded, elaborate and empty birdcage topped with a floret-like embellishment. Roughly the size of a smaller two story building, she remains suspended by a thick chain running through a loop in the sculpted topper. Come to think of it, the design on it sort of looks like a (crying?) face if you squint just right...

Although dusty red in colour, upon closer inspection it appears that the witch used to be a shimmering pearlescent white but has since rusted due to negligence. (Perhaps mediums used could be clay and wire?) The three different sections of the witches' body, separated by thicker horizontal bars, can all spin independent of one another. It is said if you can get her to match all three levels up and subsequently realign her door and open it, she will be destroyed.

On opposing sides of her middle section is an impressive pair of deep jade nightingale wings that almost seem to change colour as they catch different angles of the light. The avian qualities end there with her alarming long wingspan, as the clawed feet snuggled among intricate designs and pentgonal/hexagonal patterns on her base are those of a lion.

Barrier/Maze: The transition into Atalanta's barrier is smooth. It starts off with the ground before your feet becoming more and more littered with sticks and twigs, before all you can feel beneath your feet is the snapping of wood. Brightly coloured pieces of fabric are woven in with the debris, and after looking closer it becomes apparent the ribbons are various awards and rosettes commending something- they all sport unreadable runes. If translated, they would all repeat the phrase 'are you proud yet?'. As the sticks begin to dissipate it becomes apparent that you're actually in some sort of giant, albeit empty, nest. Crushed and festively patterned eggshells lay scattered around as if to prove suspicions, but the woven structure remains barren save a few random pieces of household furniture and a dozen or so discarded trophies.

After reaching the opposing side of the nest, you see bleachers run slanted down as far as the eye can see. Starch white to almost a blinding extent, if one were to circle the nest completely they would find that the seats were the only way to descend and move onwards with the maze. They are just as abandoned as the nest before it, although unlike the previous room remain completely clutter free. Although initially they seem endless, after several minutes of walking you find yourself at a plain white wall fitted with a generic white door you would find inside most homes.

The contrast from the last room into the next is extreme, as the next area plunges into the darkness of a dungeon. Damp and dripping, the poorly lit prison has cast iron bars that like to slide around on their own free will. This part of Atalanta's maze surely epitomizes 'maze', as the shifting bars like to confuse and throw humans off their course, trapping them inside. The iron walls aren't very smart however, and it doesn't take much of a tactician to figure out a way around them- they're more disorienting than truly a threat. Once out of the range of the shifting prison walls, the concrete around you begins to speckle with tiles. The damp dungeon begins to melt into tiled change room, with mismatched lockers of various styles and heights. (I'd like it to be in the colours of Sadie's school, but I'm not sure what Teufuls is? Purple and yellow I think?) On occasion one of Atalanta's minions may wander this far out; perhaps an Abimaras cleaning up after some human or a stray Abarron. The entrance to the final 'boss room' lays through an elongated player tunnel at the far end of the locker room, which has graffiti sprawled several feet high inside reading 'DON'T LEAVE ME'.

The mouth of the player tunnel opens up into the expansive green meadow of grass Atalanta surrounds herself with. The field abruptly turns at a 90 degree angle after a few miles of flat ground in either direction, continuing up vertically before once more folding in somewhere above the bright orange sun to create a box shaped enclosure. Although her minions may run freely up the fields 'walls', it isn't possible for a human to do so (easily, anyways). Abimaras keep the field cut meticulously short and paint seemingly random designs and shapes in white paint on afterwards, although it later becomes apparent the lines have some relevance to the Abarron's attack patterns. At the centre of the 'soccer' field lays a lone, towering linden tree. Scattered around the base of the tree are various bushes, with curling thorned tendrils threatening to strike those that come too close. Hanging from different branches and boughs by rusty chains are various mediums (wooden plants, posterboard, metal signs, etc) with witch runes, each sporting a unique yet short phrase. If one were to translate them they would learn each is donned with a seemingly human name, almost as if it were reference to a family tree.

The tree itself is more than impressive in size; it sprouts up for what seems like eternity before branching out and blocking the repeating patchy grass 'sky' from view. Simple bandaid birds flutter about, darting in and out of the cotton ball fluff clouds above. Among the gently swinging name plates hangs Atalanta, silently watching her charges scuttle around below in solitude as she listens to Abidemi's faint song and strains her limited memory for answers she will never find.

Location: Atalanta has found herself a cozy home in one of the less prosperous neighbourhoods of the Daisy District. Tucked away in an abandoned alley directly behind an old, yet still functional orphanage, she almost seems to suck the joy and colour out of the area surrounding her. The orphans seem listless and uninterested in potential parents, and remain apathetic towards their future under the witches' influence. The rest of the immediate population that lays just on the brink of Atalanta's reach seem to get into more frequent arguments with their family, growing more and more distant from each another with each passing day.

Attack(s): The witch much prefers solitude and to leave any intruders to her minions, hanging safely out of reach where she can instead watch. When a puella does manage to start pressing past Atalanta's defences, her first resort is to come barrelling down from her perch in the linden tree, smashing into the ground below. If caught off guard by her sudden drop someone could surely be crushed to death as Atalanta herself is impressive in size. If further provoked, while on the ground Atalanta will claw and stomp at her assailants. While her general shape and bulk makes it difficult for her to move around on a horizontal plane, her large lion claws are extremely sharp and one should remain wary. If contact was made with flesh they could do some serious damage. After her descent the witch will hoist herself back up to her vantage point, ever swinging by her chain.

Ironically her wings aren't that great for flying, but she can use them as flexible shields. Hardened feathers reflect even the strongest of bullets and arrows, although they are weak to elemental attacks. For a ranged attack, Atalanta is able to rain a barrage of these razor sharp feathers down upon any unlucky victims. She's also able to control all of the chains in the linden tree, although most of them suspend signs and will not serve any other purpose once attached. She has no problem using the free ones to grab and lash at nearby humans, though.

Atalanta's last and final resort is to all together ditch her throne in the linden tree, taking to the skies. Her dark wings cannot hold her forever, though, and her flying is hazardous at best. Swooping downwards at any attackers gives her more accuracy and a better chance at hitting them with her claws, but after a violent and unpredictable barrage of attacks she will eventually collapse onto the grass below. She is fairly vulnerable when on the same level, which is why she likes to stay above any intruding puella at all costs.

Grief Seed: The top tip of her seed has taken on the shape of a simple heart, a keyhole cut out of its centre. The design on the body of the corrupted gem involves a vertical cage pattern, with a simple pair of wings trapped inside.

      MINION #1 FORM:
Name: ABARRON hebrew. " father of multiple "
      Duty: Compete
Description: Abarrons come to two varieties: blue and green. They split themselves into teams by colour and will play an endless game of football unless interrupted, usually by a human. Since there are no goals, there is no score; they merely kick a 'ball' back and forth. Every now and then one will find a four leafed clover on their playing field and bring it to Atalanta excitedly, although she rarely ever acknowledges it or them. Childish games no longer seem to hold her interest...
Appearance: Although they differ in colour, all Abarrons look roughly the same. Eye, nose and mouthless, they have large soccer balls for heads in geometrical patterns varying from simply the uniform pentagon and hexagons. They look almost stick-figuresque, as their torso and four limbs are made of a thick interlocking steel chain. By wrapping their limbs tightly around their oversized heads and rolling, a volunteer Abarron will temporarily serve as the ball for the rest.
Attack(s): Similar to how an Abarron tucks themselves into a ball, but instead of neatly folding their limbs away they unleash their thick chain body in a confusing blur of steel. Whipping about their playing field they circle around Atalanta in crude formations, making it somewhat difficult for anyone to move around her maze by foot.
(undecided: spikes also come out of their heads, reminiscent of Sadie's weapon?)

      MINION #2 FORM:
Name: ABIMARAS babylonian. " my father is sick "
      Duty: Caretaking
Description: A rather dull minion charged with the duty of caring for and keeping Atalanta's maze in tip top shape. They cut the Abarron's playing feild, keep the single linden tree and the bushes trim, and other menial handyman tasks but are forbidden from touching their witch. Within their dark jackets lay endless household tools at their disposal, with which they use in their day to day work. When another minion, (most commonly an Abarron), or Atalanta herself is hurt, he will proceed to inject them with brightly coloured liquids from one of the many syringes stashed inside his coat. Since they look identical to the ones Abimaras attacks with, it's unclear if he actually knows what he's doing or not.
Appearance: These goliaths stand to about nine feet in height but move sluggishly and in slow, blurred motions. Their bodies seem almost completely humanoid; male, well built, in pitch black professional business suits. Where a head should rest between broad shoulders instead lays a blood red rose. No appendages on Abimaras' head seem visible, although in the centre of rose where the top of a man's head would be is a lone, gigantic blue eye. In order to see things around and not just above themselves, they must bend over and due to that inconvenience tend to not rely so much on eyesight. They shed their older petals in favour of new ones when they see fit.
Attack(s): Due to their unimpressive speed, Abimaras' aren't usually fit for battling puella. They tend to shy away and let the other minions defend Atalanta before stepping in. However when they do manage to land a strike, it tends to be catastrophic. They fight with the same syringes they tend to their own with- colourful and oversized, reaching to around three feet in length. The tip alone is long and large enough to do some serious damage, but what you should really be concerned with is the mysterious liquid churning inside the vials.
(undecided: can minions have healing abilities? that would fit, but idk)

      MINION #3 FORM:
Name: ABIDEMI african. " girl born in father's absence "
      Duty: Reprise
Description: They nest in and around the linden tree at the centre of the maze, most commonly found in the patterned, swirling bushes. Their sole purpose is to help Atalanta reminisce by chirping songs from her past, but they never seem to quite recreate melody she longs to hear most of all. They are also capable of mimicking any human voice perfectly by extracting it directly from someone's memory.
Appearance: They seem to be almost mechanical in appearance, thrown together from random tools and small metal objects you'd have lying around the house. Keys for wing feathers, they seem reminiscent of a mockingbird due to their patterning. Not able to create anything themselves, they simply repeat things they've heard or snatched from human memories.
Attack(s): Abidemi doesn't fight; they are much too small (about a pinky finger in length) to do much good even in larger numbers. The most they contribute in terms of defence is a shrill, ear piercing shriek that also serves as an alarm for Atalanta. Occasionally they can deter a human with their ability to imitate voices, but they aren't smart enough to hold much of a conversation so they often can't pull it off.

Symbolism ahoy: I put quite a bit of thought into random details, both large and small scale because idklol, it was really fun and the canon witches seem to do so. Here's some random stuff that I factored in~
      - most heavily, Atalanta is influenced by the classic of many names, The Chinese Nightengale in which an emperor cages a bird for his own selfish reasons
      - only male nightengales can sing! (I also added in a bit to Anton's section saying he used to sing to Sadie before bed when she was younger)
      - Nightingale is also a title of baronetage, passed through sons
      - Atalanta was this lady in a myth I linked up there in her name with daddy issues real similar to Sadie's, and she was all althletic and stuff too.
      - her terrible memory = Hippomenes' memory from the Atalanta myth
      - Atalanta was turned into a lion, and the nightingale wings are obvious...
      - lion + bird = griffon (sort of?) which guard priceless possessions
      - 'chamber' witch is in reference to a jail or chamber, (enclosed room, also often used by legislative or judicial parties) and also a chambermaid, someone who primarily maintained their master's bedroom, much like a parent might, especially at night singing to their kid! (birdcage witch is taken in canon and jail witch seemed a little too harsh?)
      - the linden tree is the national tree of Slovenia
      - if it wasn't obvious, naming mechanisms are significant to Sadie. (see: her middle name) So, I kept that in mind with her witch and minion names- they all start with 'A', the same first letter as her father Anton! (A+ amirite)
      - the minion names all have meanings pertaining to fathers
      - Abimaras is supposed to be a representation of her father (or what Sadie wants in her father, metaphorically speaking) if it wasn't obvious; the name is a reference to his occupation as well as perhaps Sadie's view of him? The syringes reflect is career, too.
      - his single eye is a slight nod to the evil eye, and is located so he is 'naturally looking at Atalanta'
      - the love of the nightingale for the rose is widely used metaphorically in literature, hence the Abimaras' heads
      - in the fairy tale of Jorginda, a girl turned into a nightingale, a blood red flower lifted her curse (not that Abimaras can, but it's the closest thing she's got to her father? plus his 'medicine')
      - the Abidemis are themed around the emperor's mechanical nightingale from the Hans Christiansen classic and their inability to recreate the nightingale's song, but since they're fake they are mockingbirds instead idk!
      - Abarron's name is a reference to the other child Anton will father (spoiler alert!) which contributes significantly to Sadie's downfall

Hi there! Sorry it took me so long!
Heres what happens with my crits... I kinda go by instinct and articulate as best I can. If you can decipher it, great! smile

Okay. Let me begin by saying that I like her personality. Shes got alot of facets to her. What you said about the little details in the anime? You got that.
She seems too peppy, too energetic at first glance, but it fits with her character. If I've read her correctly, it seems that she is trying to compensate for her conflictions and family insecurity.

Her history is... gripping. I enjoyed reading it. I could really FEEL it, you know?

The dynamic between her father and her is a bit complicated, but you got it JUST at the point where it's realistic and deep. Any further into that conflict and it would seem false. Any less conflicted and it would seem as fake as Lieta's adoration of her brother (yes i know). Its a very real, human interaction.

Her relationship with her mother is also nicely conflicted, but... Its maybe a bit... too distant?
Actually, that could be because I'm getting more about the mother (who is an interesting and complicated woman) than her relationship to her daughter. Is it really that unremarkable?

I adore her grandma. Her grandma is awesome. Her grandma kicks a**. Shes got interesting motivations, a nice personality...
Actually though.
Is she ever angry? Dont worry about that question, I'm just asking to get you thinking XD

ONWARD

Hmmm. Her wish has to do with completion. Healing. The ability to make something broken whole again.
Perhaps her magic could have to do with healing others or repair?
But perhaps a downside to it could be that she cant heal herself.
I suggest this over the cage things, as the magic that they use appears- at least in part- to be related to the wish.
I saw it implied in some stuff I saw of the Portable that they can use magic for other things too, not just special abilities. It was implied that Kyoko was using her magic to have her way with the world, and so she had to keep herself nicely stocked with grief seeds to keep up that life style.

Appearance wise? Perhaps Armored bodices and princessy bits with an armor-y theme. Sort of odd, but works.
AH!
A HYBRID of princess and knight! Thats what you seem to be going for. It would work so well with the flail (which is an awesome weapon)
What i mean is, its armor but in the style of princessy stuff with lacy bits and... its completely incongruous and... therefore perfect for a magical girl.

She should be VERY VERY careful how she words her wish. If she words it juuuuust wrong... could be interesting.

Thats what I've got.
She's... very well thought out. I cant wait to see her in RP.

Hey there, thanks for the crit. n__n~!

And yup, a lot of her outgoingness/peppiness/energy what have you is sort of her own defence/coping mechanism. :3 I might not have made that terribly clear, haha.

I will try and write more about Sadie's relationship with her mother; you're right, I focused more on her as a person than their relationship. - v-b

As for her grandmother I'm certain she can get angry! It's more like she's old, has 'seen it all' and it just takes quite a bit to get her worked up. Patience of a saint and all that~ I'll add a bit on that to reflect that, thanks!

I'm trying to stay clear of healing powers solely because it seems like there's a lot of characters/quests floating around that have similar themes? With the cages I was thinking along the lines of she'd word her wish to include 'never leaving' or 'keeping', hence the cages but idk. u vu There was the possibility of using chains, too, but I seem to recall Homura using them sometimes so I avoided it OTL

The 'something broken whole again/repairing' theme is something I was trying to play with but couldn't really think of much tbh. :c Everything I came up with either was healing or seemed too similar to Mami's ribbons/tying theme SIGHS but I'm open for suggestions still!
these are my random ideas i had tucked away but i settled on the cages, dunno if they'd be more suitable. u_u
[able to 'bond' herself with one person (buffs?)
able to make a 'bond' between two objects and attract them together. most obvious use would be to bond her weapon, to say, a minion's face but there's lots of uses]

And I love poorly worded wishes! Honestly I haven't put too much thought into her exact wish and it's wording but they're fun, right? * U*; Thanks for the crit, I've edited Sadie a bit to reflect your suggestions and I'll get around to your crit soon~ !

- edited sections on Sadie's mother and grandmother
- expanded a bit more on her hobbies and magic

edit 02/10/12 thanks to moris suggestions added a bit more about sadie's relationship with her dad under his section :3 !
