Into the desert once more. Samril was really getting tired of it all. Perhaps he should go looking for someone to go hunting the bigger dragons with him! Hey, that sounded like a superb idea!!! He could get Elleth and Kavanna and they could go searching for the Celestial dragon! Or, you know, they could at least go hunt down a Firani or a Peisio... ANYTHING but another Kiandri. Anything but this desert. ANYTHING AT ALL.
As he thought about it, Samril thought on how they could even spar a bit if they didn't want to go dragon hunting. He liked sparring with Elleth and it might be fun to spar Kavanna now that he had a clan and the abilities from it. He'd seen Kavanna around a time or two in the distance and knew she'd moved up to Year 2 as well. He hoped Elleth had moved up in her own training. Maybe she had that weapon she was talking about the last time he'd seen her. A real weapon instead of the training one she'd been using when he'd come upon her.
Maybe Kavanna knew more about the clawed gloves he'd seen some Dovaa using. Though, he wasn't sure if she would. Their last spar had made him think that she was pretty much a magic user. Magic was cool, but it was still fun to beat things up with your fists and such.
His thoughts on anything and everything but what was around him, Samril kept walking... straight towards a small group of Kiandri dragons ahead. They had yet to notice him, but it wouldn't be long before they did if he kept to his current path.
"Maybe I should ask around to find someone who uses the clawed gloves," Samril thought aloud as he walked. "Or I could just go shopping to see who sells them. I'm sure they'd let me at least try them on and try them out a bit before buying... right?"
His mind still on the possibility of a weapon and less on his surroundings, Samril walked straight into the group of Kiandri, who'd noticed him a few moments before and were ready for him. The Dovaa glanced up from his trudging feet and drew his mind from its thoughts at the sound of multiple dragons hissing around him.
"Uh oh..." This did not look good!
Luckily for Samril, the group looked to be a family group with one parent and three smaller dragons that were offspring. The larger dragon sat back, obviously allowing its children to take over and learn to fight themselves. The three smaller dragons closed in on the Dovaa. Samril was already looking for a way to get out, obviously in the opposite direction of where the parent was sitting.
As the siblings drew closer, Samril took his chance, quickly sending bolts of lightning at the three small Kiandri dragons. Startled and surprised, they stopped their advances. Samril focused his next few bolts at the dragon in his route of escape, causing it to hiss loudly and back up. It apparently hadn't been expecting such a fight from him.
Taking his chance, Samril fired another bolt and took off running, passing the young dragon as it fought off the effects of the Dovaa's attack. He kept running, hearing the dragons chasing him for a bit until a loud roar made them stop. It seemed they'd strayed far enough from the parent for the older Kiandri's comfort. The three siblings paced a bit, obviously thinking of disobeying, but another roar caused them to turn and return back towards their parent.
Samril sighed. He really should've been paying better attention...
