Aliʻi Manaloa'mini was searching for a particularly new member to the clan. She had heard it from Koko, the one who had initially first met this lion and apparently made a good enough impression to make him stay. Anga was his name if she recalled correctly. There was a small smile on her face as she thought of how Koko had described him. There had been a note of exasperation in her chocolate friend's voice. She looked about for the blue coloring that would give him away. Koko had told of how this lion had a hint of white but was more dark than anything else. That was good. They were not ones to squabble over little bits of white. He wasn't a pale one and that was all that matter.

Upon finding him, she called out. "Aloha Anga. How has your stay been? I hope you have only experienced good things now that you are one of us." Her tone was pleasant and her smile genuine. She was truly glad he had chosen to be a part of their family.

Anga let out a sigh of comfort. Oh, yeah. He's been really enjoying his time here. After his fishing expedition with Koko, Anga found a nice sunny patch to take a nap. The breeze from the ocean near by kept the sunny's rays in check. His black pelt made him sweat and get exhausted quickly, but the cool breeze certainly allowed him to lay out. The hot savanna was definitely too much for him. The little shade there was still wasn't enough to keep Anga from panting. Yeah, he could get used to it here. Though, he always thought of himself as a rouge, the open arms of this community swayed Anga's in his decision to stay. It was difficult to find someone willing to put up with him for too long. He knew his antics annoyed others, but he couldn't change the way he was.

Anga opened one eye as he heard another approaching. He recognized the black cheetah to be the leader of the pride. Koko mentioned her and so Anga will try to be respectful. It will be hard, since he's not very good at it, but he'll try.

He lifted his head and shouted, "Aloha!" The word was different, but something he could get used to. "Yeah, the weather is great and I love the chill atmosphere." He smiled as his tail swayed.

Mini could tell right away why Koko had seemed frustrated by their new member. She could be a bit too serious sometimes. This lion seemed the type to not take anything too seriously. They would probably butt heads frequently. But he was friendly and open. She personally liked that.

When he shouted their greeting, she had to hold back some laughter. His speech was different from what she was used to. It made her wonder where he had come from. Of course, it wasn't her style to delve into someone's personally history. "I'm glad you like it. I understand you'll be fishing for us." Mini already knew of the experience he had with Koko. In time, he would learn how to do it properly. She didn't feel like mentioning it because it had apparently been quite embarrassing. "It's always good to have more paws to help in the supply of food."

Anga grinned as she approached. He couldn't explain it, but he was getting good vibes from her. Yeah, he didn't think he'd have any problems. Authority types always seemed to want to rip him apart. Usually, Anga avoided any alpha males or females. He wasn't one to back down from a fight, but he didn't have enough energy to deal with all the aggression and testosterone. No, Anga was content and he didn't want to mess it up by acting impolite.

"I know I'll have a lot of fun fishing."He stood up and walked up to the Queen so that she didn't have to come to him. It seemed the right thing to do. "I gotta be honest, I'm not the most graceful lion in the sea~ but at least I'll come back with something." His face spread into a stupid grin as he thought about his last attempt at fishing. He'll totally do better later. He can only go up from there.

Mini searched the ground for a nice comfortable spot to rest her bottom on. She slowly sank down into a sitting position as Anga spoke. Yes, Koko had gone into detail of his first fishing experience. According to her friend, he had been horrible but not the worst they had seen. It was always a test to see if a rogue could actually live with them.

Despite his inexperience in fishing, she was still grateful he chose to stay. They needed more in their numbers to make sure that any pale ones looking to hurt them would not succeed. Of course, she much preferred peace.

"Eventually, swimming and fishing will be as easy to you as walking. When we first came here, fishing didn't come easy to us either. It took a lot of practice. I'm sure you'll become great at it." Her words were genuine. Even though he seemed a little weird to her, he also seemed to have a determination to do well. She could respect that.

Anga plopped down next to the Queen. Well, he left a good sized space between them. He didn't want to upset her with his closeness. Not that he smelled, it was just out of respect...which was weird because a month ago Anga wouldn't believe that he'd be having a conversation with a Queen. Yeah, things were definitely different.

Anga couldn't help but smile at the Queen's words. He had this sudden urge to please her. Like, be the best fish hunter in the pride! It would suck if he let her down... he didn't want to get kicked out. He rather liked it here. "I can't wait to get back out there! I bet I'll be able to catch 20 fish a day." He chomped in the air, flexing his main catching weapon. He imagined fish becoming trapped in his iron like teeth! There's no way a fish can escape with Anga on the prowl. He stopped 'catching' fish to speak. "Hey, do any hunters fish in the sea?" That would be a scary, but an exciting new experience. Anga has never been to the ocean before.

Mini had to admit to herself that Anga was highly amusing. It was refreshing to find someone so cheerful and optimistic. Just what the clan needed. He would also bring in new blood and be a potential father to future cubs. She liked the fact that he seemed relaxed. Her people should feel comfortable around her and not like they always have to be formal. There were laws and she demanded respect but sometimes formality created tension that shouldn't be there.

She let herself laugh a bit at his words and actions. "Well, we don't live near the sea so that would be a no. Though I have heard of a pride of lions that fish in the sea. The lake is much more calm and better suited to us. Plus there are no prides currently living near us so no competition for food. Well, aside from the crocodiles." Yeah, the crocodiles sometimes came around. They were a rare sight but it was always best to be cautious around those beasts.

Anga shook his head in embarrassment. Of course they weren't anywhere near the sea! He shrugged it off though. For some reason, he thought that the lake would lead to the sea or something. Whatever, he'll be the best lake hunter ever! That little thought brought his spirits up. He chuckled a bit nervously, "Yeah, that would be pretty hard to fish in the sea." Anga nodded though. He's heard of the sea pride. They were very... intense from what he's heard. Totally too hardcore for Anga's speed. Yeah, this pride is more his style.

Anga's attention snapped back to the Queen. "Crocodiles?!" He leaned closer. "There are crocodiles in the lake? That's crazy." The thought of crocodiles scared and excited him. Oh, that would be so cool to fight a croc, but...Anga would battle it on the land. That way he'd have a tactical advantage. Though....maybe it wasn't smart to fight a giant reptile to begin with. "Do they taste good?"
