Keeping true to her word Tori started the day off by heading to the training grounds to get practice in with her weapon. Her weapon had made her promised that she would do this since she had been read a lot more than she should and for the fact they both knew that he would keep his own word if she didn't. Tori shivered slightly at the thought of those really uncomfortable questions her weapon would ask that she didn't want to answer as she walked to her destination. Sighing slightly once at the training grounds as she could be doing more research in the labs. I get your point and I do have to agree with you but so far only reading makes me forget what has happened and sometimes any type of fighting only makes me remember my failures on not able to help out when it was really needed. She said as she was thinking of the last big mission they all had been on. I know, but a small part of me is still scared. Tori admitted to Aklin as she didn't wanted to become useless. Smiling a little as she dragged out some of the practice dummies and when the dummies were positioned. Tori started to slash at the with her sword and then went to using her ball and chain since that part of her weapon she needed more practice with since half the time she tripped on the chain or missed.

Most trainees had varying schedules and inconsistent sleep patterns; as a result, you could never really predict who you'd find in the gym or on the fields any particular day, even if you did have a schedule you kept when it wasn't adjusted by duties and missions. Jordan was used to seeing others there, sometimes senior hunters, sometimes other trainees. What surprised him today was that the trainee systematically destroying a practice dummy was unfamiliar to him. He'd thought he knew most of the trainees currently on the island.
"Hello," he called as he approached. "Mind if I join you?"

Pulling out her sword her sword out of the practice dummy when another trainee called out to her and for once she hadn't been startled by it like so many other times when she focused on fully on what she was doing.
"Hello," Tori replied a little sheepishly. "I don't mind one bit," she added nervous as she didn't know what else to say. "Also I'm Victoria Straka, I go by Tori and since you are here would you spar with me?" The lifer asked still a little nervous in asking but her weapon was proud of his hunter and excited as well.

"Jodran Miller," Jordan replied, "and Ferros." Instead of holding up the ring to indicate who he was referring to as he usually did, he summoned the massive hammer by way of introduction. "I'm always up for a spar. Much more fun than the dummies; they don't fight back."
He grinned at her. "Nice to meet you, Tori. Don't beat me up too badly, okay?"

"It's a pleasure to meet you Jordan and Ferros," Tori said with a little smile. "Also this is Aklin," she said holding up her blade as Tori walked away from the dummies. "I do have to agree with you on that one, but sometimes its good to smack around a few dummies," "Alright if you don't beat me up too much either," Tori said as she knew that she wasn't all that good at fighting but was excited too. Carefully Tori walked around Jordan thinking on the best way to attack. She thought to use her chain since she needed more practice with it anyways and started to twirl it around as she got closer to Jordan. Throwing the ball once Tori thought she was close enough but the ball fell short of hitting. Hp: 50 Damage: 0 Charge: 0/3

"Hey, I object to being called a dummy," Jordan laughed, then, "I know, I'm just kidding," in case she was inclined to take the joke seriously.
He stepped to the side and swung almost lazily.
We should fight more, Ferros said, his constant rumble becoming almost a purr as he made contact.

Tori was just about to object to that as that hasn't what she had ment, as she started to panic a little, but then smiled some with what he said next. "Well I'm glad that you are kidding as I wouldn't try and say anyone was a 'dummy' as it would be rude," she said. "But then sometime I don't know what to say," she added sheepishly.
Flinching slightly at Jordan's hit as it might have not hurt all that much but just being hit with a huge hammer was just very different experience. Still a little flustered, Tori started to charge at Jordan but just as she had started to run she tripped up on her own chain and fell flat on her face into the dirt. Oh man Tori felt she just wanted to die right there as this wasn't what she wanted people to see on how much she failed at fighting.

"Sometimes the situation does call for a little rudeness," Jordan said, and smiled. However, as she tripped and fell flat, he lowered Ferros and stepped in to offer assistance. "Need a hand?"

"I will have to keep that in mind then," Tori replied as she still just wanted to die right there from embarrassment for tripping on her chain. "Yes," she answered sheepishly as she offered her hand for the help. "I'm also sorry about that as this is very kind of you," she added as Tori was impressed that he was being so a gentleman in a spar, but she still felt stupid, as this

"No reason for me to be an a*****e in a friendly match," Jordan replied. "Everyone faceplants once in a while. Better to do it out here than in a combat situation." He helped her up and backed off a bit, waiting for her to get her bearings again.

Tori was glad for Jordan's help even if she still felt like a fool. "Thanks, as that was still kind of you. I have seen more kindness here than I ever did before coming to the island," she replied as she brushed off some of the dirt off. "That is very true as I haven't done that yet, but this isn't the first and wont be the last time I do that," she said a little sheepishly, even now Tori was still having problems learning the right way to use her chain. "I'm ready now," she said as she took on a defensive stance.

"We'll be working together at some point, I figure, so I'd rather be on good terms with people whenever possible," Jordan explained with a smile. "Y'know, aside the whole part about friendliness being considerably more enjoyable than hostility, anyway."
He took a few quick steps in and swung Ferros lightly at her leg.

"You do have a very good point there. As I really never thought of it that way as well, but then I haven't been that great at fighting," Tori replied as she readjusted her grip on the hilt. "But I do have to say Ferros is an interesting weapon, as I haven't see any one wield a huge hammer,"
Taking a little sharp breath in as Jordan's attack hit her leg as it didn't hurt but the sight of the hammer coming at her leg was a little scary.
Tori smiled a little with what her weapon said to her as she then took a few steps as Tori then stabbed at Jordan's legs.

"You seem to be doing fine anyway," Jordan pointed out cheerfully. She was quick with her weapon, and he couldn't dodge in time; he struck out almost lazily in response, Ferros clanging off Aklin's blade with a vibrating shock. It hadn't been a particularly hard blow, but he could feel Ferros rumbling with agitation and satisfaction as the dragon drew in heat, ready to flame.

"Thanks, but I know I still need plenty of practice since Aklin is at times a little strange to wield," Tori answered and glad that Jordan was being so nice and helpful to her. That blow had been a little strange to her since Tori had never taken a vibrating shock attack before as she took a few steps back to get ready for her next attack. Breathing in deep as she was once more going to try her chain again. Tori started to spin the chain while she then charged right for Jordan keep her sword low to keep it out of the way. Then at what she thought the right distance she let the chain go as the ball when right for his shoulder. Hp: 42 Damage: 6 Charge: 2/3
