This is a SOLO RP
Where: Spades, inside the mansion Zale is growing up in.
What's happening: It's evident Zale is falling apart, and Sully isn't sure if the boy is going to fall into the roll he needs to... or if he's going to fall into insanity.

Sully had been watching, he always was watching. Every time he sent Zale on an errand he watched, observing the changes in the boy. His heart broke every time he heard Zale speak to the boy, and when the boy rushed off Zale did not leave the log he had climbed into.

It was his fault, and he had thought it was for the best. He had thought the boy would be alright, that he would be able to live soundly in Spades. However, soundly did not mean happily, and he regretted ever bringing that poor child into Spades.

He should have killed the egg. Or given it away. Or ignored it. It would never have hatched had he not touched it and given it warmth. Now, the boy he had wanted to raise away from the monsters and with love was curled into a log, breaking. He had thought he'd adapt easily, and at first he had.

At first....

Now the boy was falling apart. He would become one of the men that lurked in the dark inside the mansion. Not like Sully, a killer with a conscience.... as strange as that was. He wasn't sure if Zale would pick himself back up, he wasn't sure if he'd be sane. He wasn't sure... about anything.

He left his hiding spot, a tree branch. He leapt down soundlessly, approaching the log as quiet as a ghost. A quieter ghost than the boy before. When he approached the log he stopped. Zale wasn't moving. He looked asleep. Scooping his weapon up, he shoved it into the messenger bag he had, bending down to peer into the hole. Zale was out. Sighing, he reached into the log, scooped the boy up into his arms, and brushed aside the tears that streaked down the sleeping boys face.

Perhaps distancing himself from Zale wasn't working.... perhaps... he could still become what he needed to be with a little love from Sully. If he wanted to pull the boy from his madness he'd need to give Zale something to hold onto, something safe to hold onto.

He needed to be a proper father.

"I'm so sorry, Zale."
