[ Poochyena | Mightyena ] (Both coloured by Ryuukishin) Starts: Now! Ends: 8/4/12 at 5 PM PST | 6 PM MST | 7 PM CST | 8 PM EST
Rules: ★ You can try for both pets, but may only win one. ★ The pets are completely free. ★ Winners may not give away their pet. Participants may not have others write their entry for them. ★ This thread is for entries only. If you have any questions, ask in the main thread. ★ Forms posted should have at least a rough outline if you plan to edit in entries later. Please do post a blank form claiming it'll be updated in the future. ★ You may edit your entry if needed. ★ The contest may be extended if needed until closing time.
Judges: Ryuukishin, AV, and potentially other staff if needed.
Mightyena Prompt: As a single mom, you're at wit's end on how to deal with your spoiled son. Ever since that good-for-nothing male left and dumped this brat on you, you've been trying to train him day and night, teaching him to fend for himself and to not grow up to be like that useless bum, but no matter what you do, from threatening to beat him to coaxing him with treats, he just won't listen! What can you do to make him see that what you're doing is to benefit him in the future? (Note: Feel free to make the Mightyena the dad and his good-for-nothing mate the mom.)
Poochyena Prompt: As the son, you're tired of your mom's constant nagging. What's so great about practicing pouncing and growling? You can do those things already! You try telling her that those things are boring, and you'd much rather just go play with your friends, but she refuses to listen, often making your "training" much more tedious. Several times you've tried running away, but to no avail, as she'd only find you shortly after and make you think twice about attempting such a thing again. What can you do to tell her that you're still just a kid, and aren't interested in all this stuff? (Note: Feel free to play the Poochyena as a daughter if you'd prefer.)
Have fun!

Username: Riffler Pokémon: Mightyenna Name: Sabola (meaning Pepper in Egyptian) Gender: Male
Response: That whiny little brat of a pup was determined to learn nothing from him, all of his attempts at teaching went unheeded as that lazy pup went the easy way about things, instead of hunting, his pup went and ate berries. For god's sakes! Berries! Sabola was fed up with his pup but he couldn't very well abandon the little one. It was his pup after all. Oh how he hated the female that left him with the prissy pampered pup. The gluttonus lazy creature would be better off somewhere where he would be treated like the pet that he was. But alas, Sabola was stuck watching over the rolly polly do-nothing pup.
Additional Notes: Basically me harassing myself XD

Username: Seruta Pokémon: Mightyena Name: Zila (Hebrew for Shadow) Gender: Female
Response: Zila growled as she paced outside her den. Inside was the young, useless whelp she called a son sleeping away the day. Her claws flexed and dug into the ground as she walked, further proving her frustration.
He wouldn't heed her lessons. Wouldn't hunt. Wouldn't prowl. Wouldn't fight! He would never make it to a Mightyena at this rate! He would remain a worthless Poochyena for the rest of his life and Zila wouldn't be able to show her muzzle to any others of their kind for failure to raise her young properly!
She huffed and paced more, churning the different methods she'd used upon him. Coaxing, discipline, pleading, berating... She even tried ignoring him, but that ended far too much in his favor. He found joy in the fact that she refused to acknowledge him for the whole fifteen minutes she managed to endure the awkward silence and watching him laze about further.
She paced on, wearing a groove into the ground outside the den... Surely there had to be something she could do. Something she could think of to get that blasted whelp off his arse and into the makings of a fine young Mightyena?! "C'mon, Zila..." she whispered to herself. "You can think of something..."
A brief moment passed before her eyes flashed with an idea. She would have to resort to tough love. If he refused to listen to her, then he wouldn't be able to remember half of what she told him of hiding places in the area or how to do various things in order to track fleeting individual! A wicked grin flashed over her muzzle before she steeled herself and poked her head into the den.
"I'm going away for a few days..." she spoke sternly, keeping her disappointed look upon her features. A grumble and a groggy eye flickering open, told her he had heard her speaking, but not the words. So she repeated herself, a smidge louder and angrier.
"I said, I'm going away for a few days." she repeated then half turned her head to ready leaving the den. "I trust you've learned enough from me to fend for yourself while I'm gone." She smirked a bit then slipped out of sight from the young pup.
In a flash, she darted behind some rocks and made for her first hiding post. She'd watch the young pup and force herself to stay hidden until he manages to either give in or break down. Turning to gaze upon the den, she watched as his bewildered head poked out and looked around. She heard the piteous protest he called out about her not leaving him any supper and she snarled silently in her thoughts.
"He'll learn..." she assured herself.
Additional Notes: Not sure if I'm going to add more, or leave it like it is. I might edit it or tweak it sometime later. :3

Username: Pokémon: Poochyena Name: Koinu Gender: male
Response: He rolled his eyes. Nag, nag, nag away mother, he would think as she was watching his every move. Didn't she already know that it wasn't even time for him to even evolve into something like her? She herself looked crazy, trying to teach her stubborn son anything. He just wanted to play with his friends, but she had insisted for him to play with her today. Well, not play. Train. Her cold eyes fell onto him as he turned away from her. She growled and tackled for son. Already knowing though, he dodged the attack and did a 'double team' attack on her. Moving quickly was a poochyena's ability and that was what he did. His mother's eyes and concentration was already used to this tactic and struck at her son. It was the wrong one though! "See mother!" he growled. "Aren't I ready to take care of myself? You attack my double after all!" He was naive and did not know what was keeping his mother speechless, afraid, until he turned around to see another creature behind him, ready for a fight.
Additional Notes: I kinda slipped away from the prompt a bit. D:

Username: Pandaphilic Pokémon: Mightyena Name: Fenrir Gender: Male
Response: "Son! SON!" The mightyena practically had to scream to get his son to wake up every morning.
He got a muffled groan from beneath the covers.
"There's no food tonight. I went and threw out my back. Ughhhhh." The father groaned and hobbled over to a soft pillow to lie down.
That got a tiny response from the poochyena. "But I love food! Don't we have leftovers?"
"Nope." He stretched lazily. "We ate them all last night. You're going to have to go out there and catch us some dinner tonight." In fact, he had woken up early and eaten all the food in the house. "I would go myself, but-- AHHHH!" He screamed in pain. "There's no use. I can't even lift myself off of this pillow." It was too comfortable.
That got the little brat to poke his head from underneath the covers to check on his dad. "But I don't know how--!" He started.
"Listen, just remember what I told you! I have full confidence that you can do it. I've seen you practice! I'm counting on you. You're the man of the house tonight. Just go out there and wrangle us some tepig." The mightyena gave his son a morale boost. It was going to be nice lounging off for the day while his son brings home dinner.
Additional Notes: DELICIOUS PORK DINNER.

Username: Depawsit Pokémon: Poochyena Name: Zima Gender: Female
Response: Heavily panting, the young pup skidded to a halt mere inches from the stump she'd been using for practice. Her paws ached from her agility training, and she could hardly see straight. Times like these made her wish for the unthinkable. A trainer, a trainer that would whisk her away into a world of fun and adventure. A place away from her Mother and her hardcore training. Of course she knew her Mother was only training her for the world ahead, but she just wanted to be a kid. A chance to have a crazy adventure, and roll around in the dirt with other Pokemon. But her Mother was totally against it. Sighing, and trying to steady herself, she attempted to sneak a peak in her Mother's direction. Sure enough, her determined glare was boring down on her. Turning her back to her Mother she rolled her eyes, and grumbled under her breath. 'Should have known better than to look.' Zima frowned as she eyed some berries nearby.
A small smile slid over her face and she slowly and delicately picked them from the tree. Careful to exaggerate her motions for her Mother's sake, she returned to her Mom's side and lay the berries down gently.
"Look, I found some berries, and I can even tell you what each one does." Excitedly she jumped up and down on her paws, taking note of the unimpressed expression on her Mom's face.
Groaning to herself Zima's ears lowered in sadness as she gave into her Mother yet again. "One of these days, i'll be too big to be your baby anymore Mom. What do you think will happen then?" Raising her eye to make contact with her Mother's she continued. "Maybe its time you start thinking about it." Dejected and saddened, Zima slumped away from her Mother with her tail between her legs. Truthfully her mom wouldn't put any thought into what she'd said and she knew it. But it had felt too darn good to get it off her chest.
Soon enough the day she had spoken of would come, secretly she just hoped it would be sooner rather than later.
