✠ Captain Allan Steele ✠ Allan laughed heartily and set the now empty tankard back onto the polished wood of the bar. "No, no really. I need to get some sleep. My men and I ship out tomorrow." he said. The captain had just signed his crew earlier that day; twenty sever able bodied men, many of whom he had seen on his ship before. That was good. He liked working with people he knew. Allan was the kind of man who valued loyalty above all else. Well...most of the time. At the current moment however, his loyalties were being very tried indeed. As he sat at the bar he had, on one side of him a rather attractive redhead, her fiery hair pinned back, her face colored with makeup and the effects of alcohol. She was beautiful. However...Her breasts were rather small and her hips rather narrow as well. It was more pleasing to look at her face than the rest of her. She seemed interested enough in his work. Her hands kept moving to run through his hands. But...it was the man on the other side of him that really had his attention. A younger man, his skin darkened from days of working in the sun. His hair was dark and wavy and he had a pleasant smile, not to mention his body. He wasn't very tall and he was a little bit stocky but not too overly muscled. All in all, he was one of the most attractive fellows in the bar that night. Allan was sorely tempted to let the man take him back to his quarters, as the hand that was rising higher on his thigh so obviously suggested he wanted to do. But...he couldn't. He had an early morning ahead of him and the last thing he needed was to wake up in a stranger's bed with a pounding head and his coin purse missing. No...for once he would deny himself such pleasures. Allan stood and dismissed the two would-be suitors with a flourish of his cap, laid a few coins on the bar and took his leave. He made his way back to the docks, hugging his coat a little bit more closely around him but taking in a deep breath of the salty air. He smiled a little as he neared his vessel, the Orion. She was a beauty and that wasn't just him being biased. Fifty five feet in length, carrying fifteen cannons, the sloop was truly a sight. Okay...so perhaps he was a bit biased. But it was still a damn good ship. Allan greeted the cabin boy -- trying to ignore the fact that the lad was rubbing sleep from his eyes -- and made his way to the cabin's quarters, stripping down to just his breeches and climbing into his hammock. Tomorrow... tomorrow he would be back out on the ocean. The morning couldn't come soon enough.

(Could you quote me or I will forget...) I'm here again A thousand miles away from you A broken mess, just scattered pieces of who I amRoronoa Zoro/ZoloI tried so hard Thought I could do this on my own I've lost so much along the wayZoro looked at the ship. 'So that's Steele's ship... Well, he's so stupid. Only has one guard and the idiot fell asleep at his post...' He thought silently to himself. The green haired man jumped silently onto the ship, hiding himself below deck. He had to get the bounty on Steele's head. The man was worth a lot, and so was his crew.
He did not like the navy, or the military that was against pirates. He just did whatever work he had to do to get by. Even if it meant he had to kill everyone... He had to become the best swordsman. To make his promise come true to the girl, who had died.... "Kunri..." He mumbled as he fingered the sword that was once hers... That he had received after her death... "I'm so sorry." He mumbled as he shut his eyes, falling asleep to the lull of the ship. Then I see your face I know I'm finally yours I find everything I thought I lost beforeThe SwordsmanYou call my name I come to you in pieces So you can make me whole((Out.Of.Cause:Sorry it's so short tonight, I have to get to bed but I figured a small post is better than nothing.

http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/star-chan007/RP59.jpg[/img] ✠ Captain Allan Steele ✠ Allan woke the next morning just as the sun was coming up. He was a bit behind schedule but it wasn't a problem. It wasn't as if he could leave without the crew anyways. The captain got up and washed his face in a bowl of fresh water he had sitting on a chest of drawers and then ran a wet hand through his hair before getting dressed. He walked over to the large trunk that held all of his fanciest outfits. Almost all of it was stolen. If there was one thing Allan liked, it was dressing the part. Nothing was as good as finding a ship full of loot but...there was nothing wrong with stealing a few bales of cloth. And in Allan's opinion, the more flamboyant the better. The man stepped out of his quarters looking like a true pirate. At the bottom of the gangplank a small crowd was already gathering. His crew. Allan grinned and waved. A few waved back. Allan motioned for the cabin boy to grab the ledger and a quill and then walked down, sitting down at a table that had already been set up. "Alright mates, you know the drill. Once you sign, you're part of the crew. You'll follow the rules or you'll go overboard or be keelhauled, understand?" There were a few nods of assention and Allan nodded once to himself before handing the quill to the first man. Very good. Eventually it was all done. The men had all come aboard and it wasn't long at all before Allan was standing at the helm shouting, "Heave away!" to a chorus of "aye-aye's". Allan took a deep breath and grinned it felt good to be heading home. Although...he would have to make sure he stopped in and saw his mother after this trip. If she would see him that is. Allan shook his head and looked back out to the open water. But then a shout caught his attention. w"Cap'n! Cap'n!" It was Samuel, the cabin boy, motioning frantically down at the hold. Allan raised an eyebrow. Either Samuel had invented a very interesting new dance, or something was wrong. "Kelly! Take the wheel." Allan called, motioning for his first mate, William Kelly to come over. The man did so without a word and resumed Allan's spot at the helm while the man went over to Samuel. "Alright boy, quit your shouting, what is it?" he asked. But Samuel only shook his head and motioned again to the hold. Allan's eyes narrowed. His hand went to the pistol in the sash at his waist, pulling it out and cocking it. He nodded to a few other crewmates who were watching with interest. They came over, ready to back him up if there were to be a fight. And with that, Allan descended the steps into the ships hold, ready to face whatever seemed to have frightened his cabin boy so.

He didn't seem to notice. He only woke up as the door opened for a second time. His eyes opened groggily as he forced himself to be alert. Standing to see the captain of the ship coming down the stairs. He pulled his black bandanna from his arm and tied it on his head, showing he was going to battle if need be.
"Ah... So you're the man... Alan Steele." He said. "It's a pleasure to meet you Captain..." He said, watching all the men. He had been in bigger crowds than this before and he wasn't afraid to fight to his death. "The name's Roronoa Zoro. But I'm sure you've probably heard of me...." He said, it was true that his name had become popular where bounty hunters were concerned. He was strong and worked very efficiently.
His hand reached down to the three swords that rested in his green Hakama sash around his waist, his thumb pressing on the end of the blade, where a piece of metal separated the blade from the handle. He pushed up on that piece of metal, allowing some of the blade to slip out from it's sheath. "So what kind of fight is this gonna be, Steele?" He asked, grinning some.

✠ Captain Allan Steele ✠Allan raised an eyebrow, silently appraising him. He was....quite attractive, for a bounty hunter. For that was obviously what he was if he was here looking for him specifically. The captain grinned, the pistol in his hand at his side. "That's me, though I can't say the pleasure is exactly mutual." he said, sizing him up in regards to his abilities this time. Three swords. That was uncommon. However.... "No, I can't say I have heard of you." he said. Another lie. He had and it made him a little bit nervous but he'd never admit that. It was better to lie and see if he could get under the man's skin. Allan continued to smile genially, despite the glint of steel. He tilted his head. "Sorry...Zoro was it? But you should never expect a fair fight when you deal with pirates. I'm afraid you're rather... outgunned." And he whipped the pistol out, aiming it straight between the man's eyes. Certainly there was probably room for the green-eyed man to hack his arm off but...the man seemed to forget that there were a half dozen men standing behind him, all armed to the teeth with cutlasses and pistols. "Now then, perhaps you'll surrender your weapons and we can discuss your options?" Allan's smile never faded but his green eyes were just as sharp and serious as his opponents.

"You may get me not to attack. But I ain't givin up my swords to any pirates.... And you lie, Allan Steele. I can see it in your eyes. You have heard of me..." He said with his smirk on his face. "You may have everything you need, but something's missing from your life. You know it but can not grasp fully on what it may be... Am I correct?"
Zoro said, his green eyes never left his opponents. "But I'll be a dead man, before anyone takes my swords away while I am alive to protect them. I know I could kill you now. And probably at least half of your crew... But, I'll bide my time.... Today isn't the day to kill... Not on her day..." He mumbled quietly, today was Kunri's birthday.... If there was any day he didn't do work. Or almost avoided it, it was today....Then I see your face I know I'm finally yours I find everything I thought I lost beforeThe SwordsmanYou call my name I come to you in pieces So you can make me whole((Out.Of.Cause: ))

✠ Captain Allan Steele ✠Allan's expression didn't falter as Zoro spoke, but the cogs in his mind were turning as he tried to figure this man out. He was a might sharper than any Allan had come up against before, if he could tell that Allan was lying. At the man's next conclusion however, Allan let out a hearty guffaw. "Something missing?" he repeated. "I'm sorry Zoro, but on that assumption I'll have to disagree." There was nothing missing from Allan's life, surely. What could it possibly be? He had a fine crew, a finer ship and a name for himself out on the open sea. No, he was certainly not missing anything at all. His eyes narrowed a bit as Zoro continued to speak. Half his crew...he doubted it. Zoro was good but...Allan knew for a fact there were more than a few men who were... rather notorious for their ability to defend themselves. But Allan wasn't worried about that. Seriously, what could the green-haired bounty hunter do in a situation like this? Nothing. Though it frustrated Allan that he wouldn't comply. It wasn't as if he was going to sell the damn things or toss them overboard. The captain could barely make out Zoro's mutterings and when he did he frowned. It seemed as if the man carried a debt of some sort. A friend perhaps? Or maybe a wife or lover? Allan cleared his head with a slight shake of his head, like he were waving away an annoying fly. He stared at Zoro for another second before putting his other hand in the air, motioning his men forward. "Very well. You may keep your swords. But please don't struggle right now. My men are going to escort you to some ah, accomodations." he said in what could only be described as a genial manner. He waved his men forward, his expression never changing. And then, three of the men grabbed Zoro, on wrapping his own arms under Zoro's and then back around the bounty hunter's neck. The other two held each of his wrists tightly while a fourth drew a dagger, pressing it to Zoro's neck in case he tried to fight. Allan laughed, a deep happy sound. He was pleased indeed. It seemed these men had not forgotten his little tricks after all. "Very good gentleman." There was a murmur of thanks and Allan stepped forward. "Now then. I cannot permit a would-be assassin or bounty hunter to roam free and armed on my ship." he said, his face turning serious for the first time. He reached out with deft fingers, untying the sash that held Zoro's swords. "So, until we can figure out what to do with you, I will be taking these." The more time he spent looking at him, the more he hoped that Zoro would join them. Of course he could always be forced into doing so but... Allan hoped it wouldn't come to that. The captain carefully gathered the blades into his arms and then turned back to face the captive, who was obviously quite a ways away from pleased. "You have my word. Neither you nor your swords shall came to any harm. Unless provoked of course." he added as an afterthought. He turned to the fifth man standing there and paused for a moment. "Pat him down for any other weapons and then see him to brig. Make sure he's got bread and some water and call me down when that's all done." The captain instructed. "Aye sir, right away." And with that Allan ascended the stairs back to the deck. The majority of the crew stared at him as he came up and Samuel rushed to his side, gawking at the swords. "You like them? Obviously foreign made. Very expensive. Not like the swords we have here at all." he murmued, letting the boy's eyes continue to wander but slapping a hand away when he reached to touch them. The man turned back to his crew. "It's alright lads, nothing to worry about. Just a stowaway, back to work with ya!" he hollered, grinning. Allan sent Samuel on his way as well and carried the swords into his own quarters. He was to be the only one who knew their whereabouts.... The man strode over to the large, ornately carved desk and, feeling around for a moment, pressed one of the carvings in the side. A panel came loose revealing a long, narrow compartment, usually reserved for maps and other such valuables. But Zoro's swords fit nicely. With his task completed, Allan shed his captain's livery -- or most of it at least -- and returned to the deck to guid the ship and wait for his men to call him back below deck.

He felt as if someone had punched him in the stomach. He stared at the ground, blank as the other men checked him for weapons, the man with the knife left a thin cut on Zoro's neck. Though he felt nothing, it was as if his emotions were simply turned off.
Without his swords he was useless. He sat down as he stared at the bread and water, he slowly took them and ate. He had not eaten anything for many days due to his constant moving around. He felt them tie his arms above his head once he was done, one of them stepped on his stomach, but again he felt nothing.
" 'Ay Captain....We did as ye said," One of the men said, calling up to the Captain. Zoro shut his eyes, ignoring everything, another tugged his bandanna from his head and tossed it away from him. "Hahah. You stupid bounty hunter... Guess you should have learned not to fight us real pirates." The one who tossed his bandanna said. star-chan007 ✠ Captain Allan Steele ✠Allan heard one of the men call up to him and nodded to himself as if getting his bearings before descending below deck once more. He followed the narrow passage way down to the little holding cell where Zoro had been restrained. The captain's eyes narrowed as he approached, missing neither the boot-shaped smudge of dirt on the man's torso nor the sight of the bandanna lying rather morosely on the floor. "Leave us alone men." he instructed. There was a slight grumble from a few of them but they did as they were told. Though one of them stood near the top of the steep steps, determined to keep an eye on his captain. Allan looked at the man for a moment longer and then stepped closer. He picked the bandanna of the floor and tied it carefully around the bounty-hunter's arm. "There. I apologize for the behavior of my men but...in their defense, you were the one who stowed away on our ship and threatened us." he said, though there was no lingering anger in his tone. "You know, earlier you were pretty spot on with your assessment of me. I do know who you are. But now, let me try it on you hm? You're Roranoa Zoro, a relatively well-known bounty hunter who isn't happy with the way his life has turned out thus far and wanted a way to escape from it all. Why else would you have stowed away aboard a ship you knew was heading for the open ocean? What were you planning to do with me once you had killed me? Take on my men? And then what? Sail back to the shore on your own. Please. This ship needs a crew of at least twenty. But now that we've got you it would be easy to kill you. I could call in a few men right now, they could beat you unconscious and we could dump you over the side into the water, maybe slit your throat for good measure." Allan said, his voice serious now. "But...I'd rather not do any of those things and I'd prefer it if you didn't force my hand. I'm a man of honor, so I'll give you a choice, Roronoa Zoro. Join my crew, or join the fish at the bottom of the blue." And Allan fixed Zoro with an intense though rather indecipherable look in his green eyes.

His head hung dully, as if he was a beat up old horse with no way left out now. He shut his eyes as he said.
"I guess I'll join your crew..." He said, he just wanted his swords back. He didn't answer about the prediction that the other had made of him. Was he trying to escape the land? star-chan007 star-chan007 ✠ Captain Allan Steele ✠Allan didn't miss the blankness in Zoro's eyes. Obviously taking his swords had done more than he had thought. But...he was a pirate. He didn't play fair. He heard the agreement and nodded. "Excellent. And of course you'll have all the same rights as the rest of the crew. With...one exception for now." he added on, a thought occuring to him. Allan wasn't stupid. "You can have your swords back after you've proved your loyalty to captain and crew." he said. Until such a time, Allan very much doubted any of the crew would like to see the green-haired man in possession of a weapon of any kind. It was simply too dangerous. "Now then, let's see about getting you signed on officially, eh?" he asked with a broad grin as he stood up. Allan untied him and back away, motioning for him to follow. True, he had turned his back on a potential enemy but Allan was no fool. He could feel the weight of the pistol that was tucked inside the sash around his waist, not to mention the small dagger concealed in a special pouch inside his boot. He led Zoro up onto the deck and out into the sunshine. Zoro was greeted by less than friendly looks. Word spread quickly on a vessel such as this and none of them were too pleased that the man had rather put a damper on the excitement of heading back to sea. "Alright men, listen up!" Allan called. "This is Roronoa Zoro. Yes, the bounty hunter. I'm sure many of you have heard of him." he said, noticing the crossed arms and dirty looked the green-haired man was receiving. Well that didn't bode so well...but Allan pressed on. "Starting today he's a member of this crew. He will work along side you and spend his days as a true gentleman of fortune." Allan gave a roguish grin at the laughter that he heard. "He'll be treated the same as you'd treat the rest of your mates. Any grievances will be handled in the usual fashion, understand?" There was a collective 'Aye' and Allan nodded. "Good. Back to work then, the lot of you!" Allan turned back to Zoro. "And as for you, I'd like you to come with me. You've yet to sign the ledger."

As if he as a marionette, someone or something else had control of his strings. He felt dead without his swords. They meant everything to him. He did not notice the dirty looks. Beyond that he was too in his head to care anymore. All he wanted was his swords.... What sickened him more? His swords had been taken from him, on Kunri's birthday... Of all days, why today?
Once they had came up on deck, his eyes squinted some at the harsh sunlight. He stared at the deck, again unable to notice or care that he was being glared at like he was the plague. ✠ Captain Allan Steele ✠Allan frowned as Zoro followed him silently. Honestly...this was all it took to defeat the mighty Zoro? He thought about opening his mouth to give the man a good ribbing. After all, not only were the just swords, it wasn't as if they had been sold or destroyed or tossed overboard. They were merely hidden for the time being. He wanted to tease him. But...somehow he couldn't bring himself to. It seemed too cruel. He was obviously very upset by the 'loss' however unmanly the captain might find that to be. Allan let him into the captain's quarters and rooted around his shelves for a bit before finding what he was looking for. A large, well worn, leather-bound book. At the front of the book were a few pages of loopy writing that outlined the code for this particular crew. Behind that were quite a few pages of signatures, a few of those signatures appearing more than a few times. And behind that was pages and pages of a sort of chart; their intake ledger. A list of all the things they had.... obtained. It might seem foolish to keep such evidence written down but it was the only fair way to make sure that all crew members got their fair share of the loot and to lay to rest any disputes. "Now then. Things become rather simple from here. You can read the code if you want. But once you sign, it's your code to. You live by it, or you'll face the consequences, just like any other man aboard." Allan said seriously, flipping the book to a page of lines where there was space for Zoro to sign. "And cheer up would you? You'll have your swords back soon enough I'm sure. Besides, it's fun isn't it? Breaking the rules?" Allan gave him a handsome, roguish grin and extended a rather ostentatious feather quill to him, waiting for him to sign his life to the service.
