D'lin and PLexith burst out of the cold between a little way's off from Trine's main Weyr, they were close to home, easily within striking distance but D'lin did not want to alert the traitors that reinforcements were arriving before they managed to get everyone at least a little bit organized.

The last thing they needed was to go popping in to the Weyr alone and being taken out one by one. 'Plexith, reach out to any returning Trine or refugee Benden Dragon in the area and give them the location of this spot. We can attack from here' The bronze rider ordered and without any argument Plexith complied. as they descended to land, hoping that others had followed him. If no one came then he would continue on to Trine alone.

When Velath had bespoke Plexith to ask where they ought to take the young refugee dragons and their riders the bronze had directed her to here, a small clearing that was easily within walking distance to Trine but for the moment apparently safe from whatever was happening there. The bronze was already there though it seemed that he had not yet been joined by any of the other Trine Dragons.

Back winging the green landed and Eliza quickly slipped off to help her passengers down. "You'll be safe here" She assured them sincerely.

Dizzian slid to the ground at Velath's feet, still sobbing into Courath's hide. together they collapsed into a heap, the hatchling locked into a permanent grip by her rider. ~ Thank you Velath, tell yours that we are grateful for your help. Mine cannot talk right now. ~

~Courath...why aren't we home? ~ She had barely cracked her eyes open as they came out of between. Enough to see that they were not arriving within the weyr.

~ There is still fighting. Plexith has asked all Trine dragons and riders to gather here outside of the weyr. ~ Courath kept a sharp eye on the older dragons, intent on knowing exactly what they had planned. There was no way she was going to stand for anyone desecrating HER Weyr or threatening the lives of her fellow dragons! It would take a lot to keep this little hatchling out of the way.

Dizzian was one thing that could though. She gave an anguished cry as a sudden thought struck upon her. "My parents! They stayed behind in the Weyr!" Who knew what had happened to them. Did they join the Wherhandlers to save their own lives or did they fight for their Weyr...and die? Now Courath was the one wrapped around Dizzian, preventing her from standing and fleeing towards the Weyr where her families fate lay unknown.

With the help of S'kor and Scarath, Devith and Hekate had finally managed to return to the rest of the Trine group, sliding down from the bronze's back with a heartfelt thanks to both dragon and rider.

Betweening over her head Lady chirped down at her owner getting an answering keen from the little silver Prince. Lady Hekate mentally called the green alighting on her shoulder. In her arms Devith blinked one drowsy eye open to glance at the firelizard, but too tired to move let it slide closed. He trusted Hekate, she was and always would be his sole equal and even in his exhausted state he knew she would defend him.

"Dizzian! Courath! Syn! Gementh!" Hekate called wading through the crowds of riders, refugee, and weyrfolk alike as she searched for her friends.

Sister. . . Came Devith's exhausted call, both dragon and rider fearing that something might have happened to their companions mid-route without them there to protect them. Hekate had long since sheathed her knives, her arms too full of her exhausted life mate to risk keeping them on hand. Yet without them ready she felt. . .vulnerable. She needed to find Dizzian and Courath as soon as possible and secure a more defensible position for the lot of them. She wouldn't risk Devith being hurt as she shifted his weight in her arms bending slightly to press a flit light kiss on his nose tip before continuing the search letting her feelings well up and reassure the tired silver that all would be well.

He needed to rest after all, not worry and exhaust himself further. They had done so much already and Hekate could carry on their task while he regained his strength.

The moment Dizzian stopped trying to run for the Weyr Courath let her get to her feet. She heard Hekate's voice same as her Rider had. ~ Devith, We're here, we're ok. We hear you. ~ Courath shifted anxiously, concerned about the weakness in Devith's voice. ~ Are you and Yours alright? ~

Dizzian led the two of them through the crowd, trying to spot the silverrider. "Hekate!" She called out, hands cupped around her mouth. "I'm over here!" There! She spotted her and ran towards them. Courath's concern deepening as she saw Devith cradled in Hekate's arms.

"Is he alright...?" She asked, afraid of more bad news. Her eyes and face were still puffy with tears and she visibly trembled as she stood there, terrified for Hekate, terrified for her friends, terrified for her parents, her Weyr and Herself.

No answer came from Devith, the silver king's strength was completely spent and tucking his head tighter against his rider's side the silver passed into troubled sleep.

Hearing Dizzian's voice Hekate lifted her head spotting the other girl, her frown deeping at the rivets the girl's tears had cut through the dirt on Dizzian's face. A stormy expression passed over the silverriders eyes for a moment before it faded. Time enough for revenge, she had others to tend to. Prince and Lady were a good deal more friendly lifting their heads and cheeping at Dizzian in greeting. Lady even going to far as to flit over to the girl's shoulder then back to Hekate's own.

"He'll be ok Dizzian. Don't worry. Devith has just worn himself out." Hekate assured her looking down to her life bond, shifting her grip slightly to hug him a little closer to her chest protectively. "I...I shouldn't have let him push himself so hard, but in the confusion I became careless. It won't happen again." She assured both Dizzian and herself her voice soft with regret and anger. Shaking her head she tried to shed those feelings like a shroud looking to the distraught green and her rider.

Hekate glanced between Dizzian and Courath giving them a brief once over to check for wounds before determining other then the fear and pain on the girl's face that the two were uninjured. "We're going to be just fine Dizzian. Come on let's find a nice grassy spot out of the way. I'm sure the other Weyrlings will be joining us soon." Hekate began trying to reassure the greenrider, her eyes scanning their surroundings looking for just such a spot. She didn't want to get too far away from the others though encase the attack to retake the Weyr failed and they all had to be thrown a dragon back again.

Dizzian reached out, just lightly grazing Devith with her fingertips, not wanting to wake him but needing to reassure herself anyways. She was surprised with how quickly she'd grown attached to the little silver and his rider. "It's not your fault Hekate...no one could have predicted something like this happening..." Her voice cracked and she broke into sobs again. It wasn't possible. Trine couldn't possibly look the way it had in those terrible flashes of flit-thought. The riders would go in, see everything was fine and they'd be able to go home. Leave the Northern weyrs to their insane inventors and twisted Wherhandlers.

Courath leaned into Dizzian's legs, the green was exhausted as well but refused to sleep or relax till plans were made. Where it would be dangerous for Devith to fight any longer, she could still hold out a while longer. At least long enough to learn if not act.

Dizzian nodded, following Hekate's lead. "Oh! Syn! I think I left her behind..." She vaguely remembered her bunkmate behind her on the dragon but after landing she had no idea what had happened to her. "Courath... can you tell Gementh were we'll be?"

~ Gementh, Devith's and Mine are looking for a place to stay out of the way. We'll be here ~ She sent an image of their location to Gementh. She couldn't between to them of course but at least they'd be easier to find.

Spazz quietly popped into the air once again, settling with a desolate chirp on Dizzian's shoulder. His eyes whirled with distress, bloody images now sprinkled with ones of Dizzian's parents hut, undamaged but empty. Tweaker was still in the weyr, searching but neither could show her were her parents may be. Dizzian hiccuped, tears flowing from her face as she clutched the little blue close.

Cepheith was not happy. And it took every ounce of willpower Narisa had to keep her bonded in check as they burst out of freezing between. The gold snarled as she circled those gathered, wanting to charge right into HER Weyr! How dare they!

<CEPHEITH.> Narisa spoke sharply, scanning the growing crowd below. <They need us here just as much as they need us in there. But we will only be foolish and reckless if we charge in now. There. Land next to Plexith.>

Then let us be foolish and reckless! I will not tolerate such indignity as this. Or suffering! But, as much as she hated it, the Queen circled once more to backwing heavily and land beside the bronze she was familiar with. Her eyes still blazed, but Narisa had her firmly in check.

"D'lin. We will help however we can. Cepheith can instruct the dragons as needed." She paused, face frowning as she looked over the refugees. "I want any riders you can spare to protect the refugees here." Narisa add a little quietly, gaze staring towards their home.

<Calm the little ones and those close to hysterics.> She asked of her dragon.

Cepheith grumbled. We will take care of you. She crooned softly to all weyrlings and refugees from Benden. Have faith in us and those that will Ride to be your protection.

To Plexith, We request to fly with your Wing in combat.

A quiet rage still filled D'lin after the Ancientcrafter's escape and the knowledge of the coup had been pieced together by what he had heard shouted by those in the crowd, a rage that was made all the more potent with the knowledge that a dragon had helped in this coup - woe to any dragon that he found helping the handlers now. And while Plexith's eyes whirled with anger as well the pair was thankfully calmed enough to see the wisdom of gathering the Trine dragons together before rushing in to an unknown battle.

A green burst upon the scene 'Velath and Eliza' Plexith supplied 'And they bring some of the hatchlings'..Curses the hatchlings! What was he going to do with them? They couldn't help fight but perhaps it was better they were here then back at teh Weyr with whatever was happening there. 'Where is Ceta?' He asked his dragon - Eliza was rarely far from her friend and D'lin knew them both well even if Eliza was not of his wing.

'I do not know' The bronze replied apologetically and the bronze rider acknowledged the information and pushed it firmly aside. Many of his friends - those he knew, were likely in danger at the moment. He wasn't going ot help any of them if he stood around fretting about it.

'Velath says they are returning for more stranded' Plexith told the bronze rider and D'lin glanced to see that the green rider was indeed mounting again. 'No tell them to stay. They are needed here..also tell them they've been drafted, I don't know where her wingleader is so she's flying with me' D'lin ordered.

Perhaps it was a bit callous but he was going to need all the dragons he could get his hand's on to save the Weyr and the stranded wouldn't have anyplace to take shelter in or return to if they lost that and before the greenrider had a chance to argue Scarath appeared with the rest of the missing hachlings. Good..now there was no need to argue with Eliza.

There were still many of his wing missing however and D'lin's brow furrowed..was this it? Was this all they were going to have to fight back? And then Cepheith appeared in the sky and a heavy weight that D'lin did not even realize he had been carrying lifted from his shoulders. It had been a calculated risk to Narissa in that crowd..but other then the chaos of people tryingto get home he had seen no other dangers...but he had seen an opportunity to capture the one responsible. He had failed in that respect but it was good to see that Narissa was well.

"Of course, I'll find someone to stay with those who can't fight" D'lin agreed as Narissa spoke, although he took the Queenrider aside "Cepieth and you are welcome to join us but we have a slight problem that I don't think any of these angry riders have considered yet. Dragons can't hurt people - Wher's can and other then our dragons we have no weapons." Not that it truly mattered - they would return to fight for their home regardless but it would be a brutal and dangerous fight.

Plexith had been in the midst of underlining his orders for Velath to stay when Scarath and his had appeared with the rest..and shortly afterwards the golden Queen whose eyes whirled in anger. Rumbling his agreement to her anger he none the less nudged her softly in comfort. She was angry - they all were and they had right to be. 'Granted...we will answer this travesty with their blood' The bronze replied with vengence in his tone.

((Also spoke with Chesh on AIM yesterday and Syn and Gementh are indeed with us..she just couldn't post yesterday))

It had taken time to get to Halith -- too much time. Still, the pair had made it out of the demonstration area after picking up a stranded Trine man they had run into in the crowd. As the Green landed, already bespeaking Plexith without Cetalese even needing to ask her to check in, Cetalese began unstrapping herself and the man seated before her.

I am here. Plexith, what do we do? Cetalesemine has one of the weyrfolk she brought back from the demonstration so he would not be stranded. Does he assemble with us? Halith said to Plexith as Cetalese helped the man down.

"I'll find D'lin," Cetalese said, aloud for the benefit of the man, though she was talking to Halith.

Halith had set down some way from Plexith, but Cetalese set off with determination for Plexith, where she assumed she would find D'lin. She looked up as more dragons appeared above, familiar hides and unfamiliar alike. For a moment, she thought of F'itz again, sent another hope by Faranth that he was all right, and then quickened her steps to a run. A striped Bronze spiraled down toward Plexith, and considering how few Bronzes there were, Cetalese got the impression that this was a refugee, and not a Bronze she hadn't encountered yet. She wanted to get to D'lin to be on hand if he needed her. She still didn't see many of her wing present, though she did catch sight of Velath; he might need her.

N'mol blinked as they left the dark of between and immediately looked around, taking stock of the situation. Clearly, whoever Tyeth had gotten the coordinates from had known Plexith's plan, as they were not in Trine Weyr, but somewhere near the outside. N'mol spotted a Bronze with sharp, dark markings and directed Tyeth his way.

Keep an eye out for the rest of the wing and have them land together as they arrive.

Although we are Wingleaders, we may let Plexith and His take the lead, Tyeth pointed out, sounding more calculating than was usual. They have experience and it is their Weyr. We may learn from them.

We're here to help, not take over, N'mol agreed. Time to worry about our place here later. For now, we need to make sure there's at least one Weyr left when all of this is over.

Tyeth back-winged abruptly and set down roughly. N'mol began unstrapping, preferring to meet whoever Plexith's rider was face to face. Tyeth looked down as N'mol dropped to the ground, his wings folding back calmly though his eyes still whirled with anger and the desire for action. He lifted his head and directed his gaze to the sky, looking for other dragons from Benden that he would take charge of as they came -- and for Suunath.

"I'm looking for Plexith's rider!" N'mol called in a voice that was rather loud and strong for a boy of seventeen Turns. His eyes skimmed the riders present as he walked toward the small assembled group nearby, trying to check knots as he went. Whoever Plexith's rider was, N'mol assumed he was a Wingleader or Wingsecond. It would be right to check in with them first, before they found out who was going to be in charge of this.

Knowing that his rider would be less worried with the new Plexith passed the new of Halith's arrival almost as soon as the pair was visible in the sky making sure that the arriving green knew that he was glad to see her as well. She might be a green but she was one of his favorite greens. 'Halith and her's arrive, they have brought another from Trine home as well' The bronze reported and D'lin turned to scour the clearing, breathing some relief when he saw them landing. Good. 'Find out who it is they have brought back' D'lin ordered his Dragon 'We might have need of him' If nothing else he could help keep an eye on the hatchlings.

'Halith, mine asks who the unbonded man is' Plexith relayed to the green. Anything more that might be said was interrupted by the arrival of unfamiliar dragons. Plexith watched the striped on as he landed but otherwise remained silent for the time being letting D'lin handle things.

"That would be me" D'lin stated, moving away from the gold rider to greet the newcommer. He could only assume the man was from Benden and he couldn't fathom the thought of loosing one's home in this terrible day - that he was here to help them retain there was something which required much gratitude. Holding out his hand he greeted the other rider "D'lin of Bronze Plexith, Wingleader of the Gale Stalkers" He introduced himself.

'No Velath! Tell him we promised to go back!' Eliza stated as D'lin's orders were relayed to her, turning Eliza prepared to go and give D'lin a piece of her mind - bronze rider or no bronze rider when Scarath appeared with the rest of the hatchlings. Fine..okay - unburdened from that responsibility she'd listen to orders then.

'Never mind' She told her dragon 'Confirm that we'll fly with them' A sentiment that Velath agreed to with a worried hum. She had not been looking forward to arguing with Plexith and his about what they should do. It was a great relief when Halith appeared in the sky. "Halith! I was so worried, it is good to see you - we fly with you today!' The green rushed to tell her friend even as Eliza set off across the field to meet up with the gathering of riders near Plexith and find out what they were going to do.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 24, 2012 8:27 am

Sure enough, a man spoke up to claim the title of Plexith's partner, and he was a fellow Wingleader. That made things simple, as N'mol wouldn't have to worry about what the chain of command would be. The group was so small now. Distantly, N'mol was aware that Tyeth, beneath his outward show of strong calm, was as concerned as N'mol was. How many had flown from Trine and Benden and not yet arrived?

"N'mol of Bronze Tyeth, Wingleader of the Dawn Fliers out of Benden." N'mol's face was serious, but his expression didn't even flicker with mention of his now-former Weyr. The knots on his shoulder felt heavy, but he ignored them. "We saw you go for Archimonde at the demonstration. I, and whatever dragons from my wing make it here, are here to help you reclaim Trine, if you'll take the extra hands."

There was no need to go into Benden's loss or what little could be done there. There would be time for that vengeance later. Now that introductions were done, it was time to get down to business. The only thing that concerned N'mol was that none of his wing had arrived yet. He hoped they could find dragons willing to give them the coordinates to Trine.

Halith perked up as Velath bespoke her and stopped shifting about in place, anxious to get moving. Velath's words and emotions were infectious and gave Halith a good outlet for her energy and anxiety.

That is good news! We will get rid of these stupid whers and their humans in no time! Halith said, bugling-- quietly. Sort of. She lifted her head and looked for Velath. We will keep ours and our friends safe as a team.

Her excitement was interrupted by Plexith's message and she relayed it quickly to Cetalese. The Greenrider eased around a Green's forelimb, eyes unfocused as she absorbed her dragon's words, and then she was focused back on the present.

"What's your name?" Cetalese asked, looking at the man whose long legs were helping him keep pace with her.

"Korico. I work alongside the Beastcrafters and in the Lower Caverns," the man replied. "I'm willing to do whatever I need to to get our home back, rider. Set me a task and I'm your man."

"I appreciate that. Thank you," Cetalese replied. "Wingleader D'lin will likely have a task for you. I don't think any of us will be idle at this point."

As she said so, she reached the small meeting of leaders and the slowly gathering riders. The response to this was... slow. Far too slow, in Ceta's mind. She looked at the sky again, face grim. Where were the others from the demonstration? Why were they not arriving?

"Reporting," she said shortly, eyes direct when she met D'lin's gaze. There was no time for relief that both had made it back safely; this was a crisis. She would visit him and show her relief when they were done saving the weyr. "This is Korico, worker in the Lower Caverns and stables. He's offered to do whatever task you set to him to help. Eliza is coming, and you know we'll follow whatever orders you have for us."

She glanced at the unfamiliar boy in leathers standing with D'lin and S'kor, and took a quick look at his knots. A Benden Wingleader? So young? He couldn't be older than her if he was a day. Still, these were strange times, as recent events had only too clearly shown.
