Once they had returned from Daelyth, Xun Jiang had spent the next fews days by his lonesome - recovering from such a long, arduous journey as well as simply relaxing. This certainly had not been as easy on him as it had been on the others, with the mortal limitations still having showed themselves more than once on their journey, but he had gone through it. They had found Forge, and she would get another chance. It was the important part.
Even if he was still washing out sand from his mane days after the fact.
Still, it was not long before he did finally emerge to the outside world again, and found himself knocking on Glyph's door. Even if his lover was not around, his aoidei would be able to tell him roughly where Forest had gone to.

Glyph had also spent the last few days recovering - which meant he'd made a beeline for the nearest, thickest, liveliest forest to the Pantheon. Thankfully Creation's influence had taken what he'd done and multiplied it several fold so that forest was lush and thriving once more. Plants, animals, people they were all there much to his delight.
He'd fallen asleep in a bed of moss, one foot dangling in a stream while the other was jammed under a nurse log, his body draped over another moss-covered log. He still had a lot of work to do and the pressing matter of Forge's new host... but for now, he needed a break from civilization and open, dry places alike.
========
It was Aelondrael who opened the door when Xun knocked and she smiled upon seeing him. "Lord Xun. You're looking for Lord Forest?" There usually wasn't any other reason for Lifewater to come knocking... "He is out at the woods, he hasn't been back for two days now. I suspect he'd gone and buried himself in the thick of it again. He was complaining of being parched and cramped by walls when he left..." she pursed her lips, obviously thinking Glyph was being a baby about it, and gave a small shrug, "so that means he's probably by the lake or the river that feeds the lake."
She arched a brow, "Do you require anything else? Oh. And tell Lord Glyph his Aoidei wish to speak to him - it seems the kitchen was left a mess and every sweet we had has been gobbled up. I swear, he can be such a child."

"I would be, yes." He nodded, smiling back to Aelondrael. That Glyph was not inside was certainly of no surprise to Ti Lung.
The news of the 'destruction' his lover had left in his wake, through... Well, he could not help but laugh, even as it gave him an idea. "No, that was all I needed. I will let him know to talk to you. Thank you, Aelondrael."
He waited until the aoide had turned and closed the door before going on his way, grinning to himself.
--------------------------------------------------------
Aelondrael's guess had been right - with the directions given to him, finding Forest had been no problem at all. That Glyph was actually asleep only made it all the sweeter of a find.
Perching on top of the large tree had been easy enough, in dragon shape - the healthy oak could more than easy bear his weight as long as he did not venture to the smallest, younger branches.
One paw reached clumsily in the bag he had gathered, sending a tiny object tumbling down to hit Forest right in the nose.
Apparently this oak grew tiny chocolates instead of acorns....

He grumbled as something dropped on his nose, shaking his head as he rolled over. Something above must be foraging for food.... Tucking his face in against the bark, the moss tickled his nose and he sneezed hugely, groaning as something tinged in his neck.
Tucking a hand under his head for a pillow, Forest yawned as he readjusted in his sleep.

Hrmph.
Lazy, lazy Tree. Really, he was no stranger to scenes like this. When Glyph slept, he slept... Well, like a log.
Which had, in turn, spawned creative away to rouse his lover out of his slumber. This was only business as usual, really.
It would likely have worked better had he shifted back and had better hand control - and opposable thumbs. But he was not certain about shifting while that high up in the air - he had never tried to fly in humanoid shape, after all !
Sadly, that meant he would have to content with lousy aim. The next wrapped candy missed Glyph completely - and then the next attempt to dig a bonbon out of his bag turned out to unleash a fist-full of them instead.
Whoops.

One plunk upon his head sudden became a torrent of them and he yelled as he sat up, "Really!?" Huffing, he blinked and winced as a few more landed on him and shook his head, though his attention was swiftly drawn by the not-nuts. Sweets...? Sweets!
"Xun!" He called gratefully, his sour mood instantly wiped away by the discover of sweets all around him, "Why are you perched on the tree like that? If I have to come up to you, I will!" Glyph laughed, though he showed no signs of moving as he unwrapped the first chocolate and began to snack. "Mm! These are good! Have some!" He threw a candy at Xun.

"I heard you've been a bad boy, raiding kitchens and all that~" The dragon said, sing-song like. "Figured I might as well try to feed you to minimize the damage !"
The candy was snapped up and more or less inhaled, and really, it was too tempting. "Ftttt, why would I do that ? I like it up there. Nice and cozy." And one hell of a balancing act, given his current position, but really, he was too curious to see how exactly did a tree well... climb a tree.
It was bound to be interesting, that was for sure.

"Feed me?" Glyph laughed, shaking his head in disbelief, "By making it rain chocolate??" Rising, he brushed himself off and stretched, creaking like branches in the wind as he did so.
"Because it's more cozy down here, you giant lizard!" He retorted, eyeing the other. He crossed his arms and leaned back before he gestured at the tree. Almost like an optical illusion, the tree seemed to kneel, creaking as it moved, and Glyph stepped on on convientantly placed branches so that he could poke Xun in the nose.
He'd hardly stepped off the ground but in a blink, he was standing in the canopy with a smug look on his face, "What else have you brought?" Glyph's motions didn't reflect his narrow footing as he stepped around, treading normally on the smallest ends without trouble. He reached for the bag with a grin.

"Why not ?" He teased right back. "You were sleeping, anyway. I had to wake you up somehow."
Clearly throwing chocolates was the most efficient way to do so.
And yes, the outcome had been interesting indeed. "Showoff." He teased, having no other choice but to let Forest rummage - trying to move too quickly would result in either himself or the bag taking a tumble.
"Just a little bit of whatever I could find quickly in the market on the way." The chocolate covered strawberries had not quite made the trip, through. He could not resist eating them on the way.

"Pfft," Glyph scoffed as he snagged the bag and nosed about. There was toffee! Maple toffee! Grinning he stole a bit of that and gnawed on it as he padded over to sit down quite nonchalantly by Xun's side and leaned back against his lover.
"Mnn... how're you doing? You've been pretty distant the last few days." He tilted his head, sucking on a finger, "I worry about you sometimes."

Of course he'd go for the maple toffee. Xun Jiang let out an amused snort, but did nothing to prevent the thievery from taking place.
Now that he could have done much about it even if he had tried, after all.
"I was mostly sleeping. I did not sleep that well for most of the trip." He did admit. Better to just be clear about it then have his lover think it was something worse than that. "It was tiring for me... But I am glad we did it. I am glad we found her. She can recover now..."
Forge was home... where she would be cared for until she was strong enough to call another host. It was what mattered, in the end.

Glyph could tell Xun was being honest and it meant the other was trusting him more. They might have each other's backs but sometimes it was difficult to talk... and it made Glyph happy to see Lifewater being more emotionally honest and open. "I'm glad too... it's just a matter of finding her chosen one now. Are you recovering fine then? Soaked yourself enough?"
He grinned and ran a hand along the other's side, enjoying the smoothness of the scales and the silky texture of the mane. Glyph had been immersed in his own domain, Xun likely had been as well. "I don't plan on returning to the desert any time soon, though. Why can't something important be in a big ol' forest somewhere? I'd have dominion there then!" He chuckled turning his gaze to look at the stars and their many millions of worlds.
"I can feel it, sometimes, just briefly. The sparks and pieces of me elsewhere... prayers, too, at times from the people nearby." Forest watched a star fall and smiled, "What about you? Feeling stronger, more like yourself? I was worried about you throughout the trip..."

"Of course." He could not quite grin without showing an impressing row of teeth, but the amusement in his voice was thick enough to carry over the intent. "Did a wonder with cleaning, too, through I was still washing sand out of my mane this morning."
Deep, grave problems, of course. It was no lie that he had been a very filthy dragon when they had returned. Lindita had more or less dragged him right into the lake first thing.
Through now the dragon leaned forward at Glyph, teasingly sniffing at his lover as if to ask 'well, have you taken a bath ?'
Through, he could not help it - he leaned right into the touch, through thankfully not far enough to take a tumble.
"Watch it... Now a bunch of important things are going to pop up in forests and others will come constantly bugging you to find them." His tone was still light and amused, of course, but he became more serious with his lover's question. "I am not sure... The wellsprings I made seemed stronger, but I do not know if it was the water rushing for release or, well... me." It was just hard to tell, sometimes, and his mind had been clearly elsewhere much of the trip. "Other than that... I have not noticed anything really different."

"I'm tree scented, you goof. I'm my own air-freshener." Glyph laughed at the sniffing, raising an arm for the other to inspect if he so desired. Indeed, his scent was a complex, earthy aroma of moist soils and fragrant plants that echoed the world is was on.
"That would be nice, actually - the travel would be minimal as compared to a trek across wastelands." Forest quipped, arching a brow then shook his head, "I've noticed things. You're... steadier, calmer, more confident too - which I find rather appealing." He smiled, crossing one leg over the other as he spoke quite casually, "'Course I've got a dragon up my tree rather then a night elf in my bower below so I am at an impasse."

"Well, once is never too certain, you know. Muddy trees need a washdown." He continued to tease. Through he could not see mud, or clinging sand, so all was well. If it had not, well... the lake had been right there.
Xun Jiang's plan had been rather obvious.
"Am I ?" One eyebrow rose in obvious curiosity. "Some days I just feel better than others... It feels like am I still figuring myself out, sometimes... If that makes any sense ?" There was a lot for him to think about, and a lot of things where, indeed, in flux. This was true for all of them at some point... But perhaps more literal for him than it could be for most of their brethren.
He laughed at Glyph's last comment. "That does seem like quite a problem you've got there..." Yep. This was his lover, as subtle as ever. Even as he spoke, his form shifted and seemed to melt away, leaving his humanoid shape to sit where the dragon had been laying.
Now Forest had a night elf up in his tree.
