Luxara-> Bastardized version of 'luxuria', which is the Latin word for lust.
Seleni-> Altered form 'Selene', a moon goddess. (Also can stem from 'selenic', which also has to do with the moon)
Blood colour: Green-blood [538700]
Gender: Female!
Symbol: Astrological sign of the Moon
Personality: She is always grinning and very chipper. This can get very annoying if not creepy because SHE IS ALWAYS SMILING. Some may wonder if she is truly always in a good mood, if her face is stuck that way, or if it's some kind of false sincerity. Some wonder if she can even feel pain. Extremes, however, can easily break this, like torture and learning of the death of another troll that is close to her. She may or may not smile upon death. It all depends on the circumstance, because she might actually be amused with how it goes down.
While her lusus never really 'smiles', Luxara adopted the expression because smiling people were happy, and she is usually this. Over time, her face adapted to it and it became even a neutral look for her. And even when she isn't in a good mood, she forces it anyways, although it will look painful and even fake. She will not lie to others, but she can lie to herself without even knowing it. Grinning like she does is telling herself that no matter what, things will be okay. Only when she accepts a harsh truth does her expression really change for the worse; with her limited view of others, the only times she's seen negative emotions expressed have ended badly or imply bad times. The low-bloods she's watched have been hysterical and wild, and the higher-bloods are just kind of...insane. From that, smiling seems to be the better resort because the smiling trolls aren't the ones that get killed or seem to attract as many problems as the wailing, unhappy trolls.
Luxara can indeed feel pain, but usually tries to use it to aid her mood instead of worsening it. As said, she would rather make the best out of situations in the first place.
But either way, whether she's talking with you or you're in her crosshairs, she'll look as chipper as ever.
While she is always in a good mood and may try to approach others in a friendly fashion, that doesn't mean she isn't a seasoned hunter. Luxara grew up in the forest and learned to be an accurate and quick shot. She also learned to never, ever hesitate. This is also apparent in the way she talks; her diction is fast-paced and feels like there's not a whole lot of pause between words or punctuation. However, this doesn't mean she never shuts up or will make the conversation be totally on her. In an environment where the smallest sound can get you killed, she learned to be patient and not try to be the very center of attention.
As mentioned, Luxara is skilled in the ways of predator (hunting, killing, living off the land), and prey (hiding, avoiding death), she has had very little troll-on-troll interaction, and she finds them to be utterly fascinating...when they're not trying to kill her. Ever since she had the ability to, she's watched idle hunter trolls from afar, interested in how they act when not trying to kill anything.
Sometimes she gets the nerve to go around the outskirts of the resort and watch the higher blood trolls hanging out. Obviously she does this from tree and bush cover, and never gets close enough to get caught.
Strengths:
. Flexible: Luxara handles unexpected things fairly well, and is adaptable to new situations, especially those that have to do with combat. Even when she's surprised or hears bad news, she takes it well. The flexibility extends to the literal, as she can move and bend in ways that can almost be called acrobatic.
. Perserverant: She rarely, if ever, gives up. She doesn't get disheartened or pessimistic; Luxara will just keep pushing forward. Afterall, life does not show mercy to quitters and just give them what they want.
. Patient: A hunter has to stay focused and sometimes waiting brings the biggest kill. Luxara can stay still for hours at a time, as well as wait things out if she feels that is what she should do. This also goes for when she has to hide. Safety in a game park doesn't come easy, and for hours and even until sunrise she can huddle up in the cover of a tree and not make a sound or get antsy.
. Durable: Living in a forest environment, she has to endure lots of running as well as staying put, sometimes doing these things back to back or multiple times a night. Then there are the occasional multiple-night campaigns as well. Luxara can be worn down, however, as she is not perfect, but it usually takes her little to no rest for many, many days to really wear her out.
Flaws:
. Naive: She does not understand the idea of 'personal space' among other trolls. She will likely follow others she had been conversing with even if they do not wish it, or she'll stand in others' 'bubble'. She sees the world in a very self-centered view in that if she's okay with it, others are okay with it. Luxara doesn't usually catch if people are mad at her, or if they do yell at her or rebuke her, she will not understand WHY. Only having a lusus for a friend for many sweeps inhibited her social growth. If she had grown up around other trolls and had been able to form relationships, she would not be so socially dense.
. Blunt: Luxara doesn't know how to lie, and furthermore, doesn't know how to tell people what they want to hear even if they need that for their self-esteem. While she doesn't mean to be rude, she can easily be taken as hurtful. With her everlasting s**t-eating grin, this makes her look even worse as if she's telling others harshly honest thing with that smug look.
. Obsessive: When she gets focused on something, especially if she really wants it, she will be completely unable to lose focus of it. Even though she keeps her energy up, when she gets too into something, it will detriment her health like when she stalks prey for nights on end or has a score to settle with a wild lusus.
. Competitive: She is very quick to issue and accept challenges, and loves rivalries. It can go a tad too far in that she'll go great lengths to succeed, even doing stupid and dangerous stunts to make things go her way. She has been nearly killed a few times directly because she can't fail, or, realistically, doesn't believe she can lose.
Weapon: Crossbow, an excellent way to hunt efficiently, as well as disable those going after her if she manages to get that desperate.
Appearance: Five foot three (with boots on), thin, and bony. She is rather mousy in looks, and almost androgynous in her lack of makeup and very little attempt to look girly overall besides her skirt. Over her armless shirt she wears a long gray trenchcoat that is worn and torn at the bottom. Her skirt is similarly torn up. She wears green militarial boots on her feet. Over her right eye, she usually wears a scoping piece that's tuned to her blood color. Her fangs are pointy and perfect for carnivorism. She also has the closest thing to a troll mullet (a spiky one, no less), which obviously shows how out of it she is when it comes to looking 'appealing'. At least her colors coordinate. Both of her horns are tall, but they do not match: her left horn curves and the tip bends in like the end of a scorpion tail. Her right horn is straight and pointy. On her left eye there is an x-shaped scar from times long past.
Home: Forest
The natural home for Luxara's lusus is a forest setting, and on the way to a more troll-friendly place for someone of her caste, they passed through a small part of the forest. Just by that action, all hope for living anywhere was gone. Luxara immediately fell in love with Four Fronds. The grub refused to move, and move she didn't. A big, fat, hollow tree that caught her eye was the place she would live in, and that's where she stayed. A better choice could have easily been made, but it was her decision and she stuck with it. Fortunately, Luxara has been able to adapt with her setting to live and survive in it.
Lusus: A horned short-tail fang-hoofbeast, or as she calls him, STAGDAD. (ie a sabre-toothed buck)

Your lusus, STAGDAD, is one cool guy. A bit overprotective sometimes, but when his charge could be KILLED AT ANY TIME, his actions are understandable. From him you learned when to flee, when to attack, and when to kill. You also learned to not eat more than your fill from him. What a great role model! Sadly, he's not the best lusus to talk to; whenever you try to babble to him (it seems to be something trolls do a lot among each other) during twilight hours when you're hiding out in your HOLLOWED OUT TREE HIVE (which has so much greenery around it, nobody can tell that someone's living in it), he ends up walking off. Talk about being utterly DENIED. You still love him, though, and you don't know what you would do if you lost him. You kind of hope that the lusii you hunt in the forest don't also have charges BUT YOU KIND OF HAVE TO NOT THINK ABOUT THAT. It's a kill or be killed society. You really don't want to be bothered by this thing called GUILT.
==> Inquire about CLOTHING
It seems that some of the hunter trolls have nice outfits, but you REALLY CAN'T BE BOTHERED WITH FASHION. The clothes you get either come from corpses or things Stagdad brings home and chews on...and they're probably from corpses as well. You rarely get anything new, and have no problems with things being WORN AND TATTERED. As long as it fits, it works.
Your inner hunter has serious problems with YOUR LONGCOAT, since it gets caught on branches and the like, but you've become too fond of it to go without it. It was the first thing Stagdad brought home for you that wasn't for eating! At least, that's what you think his intentions were. You've had it for so many sweeps now, you don't even remember!
Your boots and eyepiece came from a dead hunter. They're COOL AND USEFUL- the boots have great grip and are good in puddles, while the TARGETING PIECE that goes over your eye catches trolls hidden in the greenery ((think troll version of infa-ray, but goes by blood color)). It is UTTERLY USELESS FOR FINDING LUSII, though. That is what your TRAINING was for, anyways!

Speaking of pride and joys, you have this little shiner from YOUR FIRST HUNT. If anything was a CLOSE CALL, it was that one. How you came out of that fight with the clawbeast with FULL EYESIGHT is something you'll never quite know, and your lusus did have to SAVE YOUR SORRY a**, but you did eventually hunt that guy down and did it make for a great meal! From then on, you became much more cautious in approaching potential threats.
==> Inquire about HIVE
You live in a BIG, HOLLOWED OUT TREE. It's where you made your first home, and from that you've always felt safest in or around tall, leafy structures! Obviously, living in a hive situated on the tree limbs would make you noticable to others, so most of your small hive is within the tree body, and the top is used like a spy post. While the inside ISN'T SUPER ROOMY, it's good enough for you! It's safe and secure, with bush and brush around it keeping others wandering nearby from getting suspicious of it. Others can't see any hints of anyone living in it, and local flora give off scents that mask yours and Stagdad's. Sometimes at twilight, he'll rub his horns on the bark to wake you up. Your respiteblock is in the base of the tree, and is full of TRINKETS collected from corpses. Accessories you have no use for, broken horns, tatters of clothing, and other USELESS JUNK hang from the inner branches. On the 'wall' you have some mapping of safe zones, your hunting zones, and troll hunting zones. This is so you NEVER FORGET THESE DETAILS or ******** UP!

you talk like you never stopped and never started it just is kind of a continual flowing kind of thing where even punctuation is thrown to the wind by the way have you noticed the weather today and

You talk FAST and DON'T EVEN PAUSE FOR BREATH. You only stop when you're done. It wouldn't be unusual for you to have to repeat yourself to your friends. Multiple times. Because you don't slow down. If you had any friends. If you did have friends, you would USE THE FIRST TWO OR THREE LETTERS OF THEIR FIRST NAME. So if you talked to yourself, and you KIND OF DO, you would call yourself Lux. However, you DO NOT REFER TO YOURSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON. Because that would be weird. Very, very weird.
==> Inquire about TROLLS
You like others of your kind! Or, more specifically, you find them to be FASICNATING TO WATCH FROM AFAR. You enjoy observing them doing...troll...things... THAT IS NOT WEIRD AT ALL. You would interact with them if the ones hunting other trolls were willing to chat, but they always WANT TO KILL YOU. While you fight to live, at the same time you don't want to INVITE TROUBLE when it's easily avoidable. If you do end up doing that and someone tries to kill you, sometimes you'll try to EVEN THE ODDS. The only times that you really regret it is when the ones you get in scuffles with have friends. And you don't. While you ENJOY THE RUSH, though , when you look back, it's really ALL A STUPID MESS THAT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN INTO IN THE FIRST PLACE. Live and learn, live and learn.
You would LIKE TO HAVE FRIENDS, though. You just HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY GO ABOUT IT. You have never left the forest, and you never know who will talk to you or try to kill you. But from your experiences of fighting side-by-side with your lusus, ALLIES WOULD BE NICE SOMEDAY.
You suppose you had the ability to live among trolls when placing your hive, but YOU FELT AWE FOR THE FOREST AND ITS BEAUTY, and so basically sealed your social fate. You are mostly fine with your choice- you are among A HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF LIFE, even if it's not exactly the kind you can talk to. At least you don't live somewhere where there's absolutely nothing at all. You wouldn't be able to stand UTTER LONELINESS.

You have learned over the sweeps of your life that the high bloods ARE TO BE FEARED, and for good reason. They were always the ones with better technology and assets than the lower bloods you have seen, as well as a lack of mercy in the field. The kill count of lower than higher was astronomical. However, YOU DON'T THINK HIGHER BLOODS ARE BETTER IN EVERY WAY; you still managed to live this long, afterall.
You are VERY WARY OF BLUE BLOODS AND BEYOND and in that sense RESPECT THE CASTE SYSTEM FOR WHAT IT IS, but if you manage to meet higher-bloods that you can easily outdo, your opinion might slowly change. For now, though, you have no problems with following it.
YOUR COMPETITIVENESS IS ANOTHER MATTER ENTIRELY; no matter what blood color someone else is, if they challenge you, you will do your best to beat them.

You have a few of these, actually:
=>STARGAZE
When you have some free time during the night (usually after a hunt), you will climb to the top of your treehive and WATCH THE STARS for varied lengths of time. You like to recognize stars and their patterns as well as make personal constellations. Sometimes you JUST KIND OF ZONE, since you are safe in the branches and leaves, so you can just stare at something and relax SINCE NOTHING WILL TRY TO KILL YOU, for the most part.
=>WATCH NATURE
You OBSERVE THINGS, from trolls hunting you to the trolls that are not and then the natural lusii predators and prey. During some downtime, you might WATCH THE WORLD around you just to UNDERSTAND IT more. Is this plant good for hiding or will it cause troll itches and burns? Is this animal passive or aggressive? Nature-watching helps both with your NIGHTLY EXCURSIONS as well as FASCINATE YOUR INNER CURIOUS MIND.
=>MAKE ARROWS
When someone uses a crossbow, they need arrows. Since finding pre-made arrows is a lucky occurence and things like luck don't usually exist in a kill-or-be-killed world, you MAKE YOUR OWN ARROWS. Through trial and error you have learned what materials generally work better than others, and you gather supplies after hunts and replenish you arrow amount before hunts.

Whoo, she can my redblood can be mullet buddies while she and my yellowblood be adventure buddies!
You say some wonder if she's always in a chipper mood or if she even feels pain, I think it would be good to state what the truth actually is and why she doesn't deviate from this. Is she truly forever happy with a lack of pain receptors? Or is she putting on a mask and hides when she gets hurt? If the latter why does she act this way? Is it because showing anger or fear or pain are signs of weakness to her? What would get her to lose the chipper tone?
Why has she decided to live life as a huntress and sometimes hide like prey? Is it a source of independence for her? Does she like living on the edge? Does she prefer to be alone for the most part, or would she enjoy hunting in a party?
For energetic I'm not sure I would say she is constantly on the move. If she's always going then that clashes with her ability to sit and wait for the prey to come to her. She can still be energetic, but I would say she has a hold on her energy so while she can run around all night if need be she can also settle down and patiently hide.
Is her naivety due to being alone in the forest? Or would she be that socially dense no matter where she grew up?
I find it interesting that she scavenged items from a dead trolls. ouob

Okay I fail at crits but there's one thing:
I'm pretty sure I get what you're saying about the smile, but I'm not sure it comes across well - you dip briefly into it's a control thing but why?
Also is she a control freak in any other area?
Or only her emotions? Why is she shut down like that?

She has to maintain control otherwise, and sometimes she doesn't even know if she's capable of making any other kind of expression and not lose her composure.
ok, what i want to know with this is -how is it possible-. your facial expressions and emotions are very very hard to control, and the fact that it takes her own death to make her frown is kind of........................................intense. i understand being able to keep a poker face through most situations, but there is a limit to how much pain, physical or emotional, someone can feel without expressing it in some way. how on earth has she trained herself to maintain this kind of composure? and at such an early point in her life?
apart from this, everything else looks fine. i am a little curious though as to why she lives where she does? why did her lusus decide to rear her away from troll society? her blood, while not high, certainly isn't low enough for her to be viewed as 'lowest of the low', so she shouldn't be forced to live on the fringes of society, fearing for her life. even for lowbloods, there are plenty of places were she could live in relative safety that are much more urbanized than the woods. i'm not saying she can't, i just wonder what the reason is.
also, she seems to know enough about society to try and stay away from highbloods, how does she feel about the caste system? it's always a usefull thing to add in. in addition, does she have any hobbies? i know hunting is a big part of her life, but does she have any other ways to spend the night?

 Her hair is shorter but still messy, her shirt is a little oversized and is a tee instead of a tanktop. Black pants and gray shoes instead of skirt and boots. No scar as of yet, nor eyepiece. The coat is eternal, though, and is pretty huge for her at this point and drags like a wedding dress. Personality-wise, she's pretty much the same, just has a good bit of childhood curiosity that edges out caution a bit as she hasn't quite learned all the ins and outs of survival as of yet. Patience is something that she is still learning, as all kids have to work out the kinks with that. But she is just as chipper as ever. : D
