Appearance: Her most distinguishable feature is, of course, her bi color eyes. One of brown and one of blue. When she was young, her mother often combed her hair over her blue eye to mask her unusual trait. Sorcha now no longer bothers. She wears glasses when she works and keeps them in her side satchel along with a small set of sewing needles, some basic thread colors, a tiny pair of scissors and whatever money she happens to have.
Her clothes are made from the scraps of cloth she manages to take from her job. She makes them all herself, as well as sews things for the people in her neighborhood and friends. She says that she just can't make anything "plain", all of her clothes made with color and her own sense of style. If working at Carmicheal's Shop, she wears the shop dress; a long cream and white skirt, a white shirt under a cream waist cinch.
Her blonde-brown hair is full and long with some curling at the ends, either pinned back into a bun with she is working or braided up.
Years at her profession have left Sorcha with the eyesight and the aches of a woman thrice her age. She often has pain in her back, shoulders, neck and fingers. She spends long nights bent over beside dying fires and guttering candles, finishing work too ornate to be done in the time she's given. Her mostly sedentary work has left her a little heavier, rounding her hips and her arms and giving her what the older ladies of the neighborhood teasingly call "a sticky roll bum." But they all assure her men like a girl with a little extra on her and her widening hips were the best to bare children with. Sorcha really hasn't much interest in the first or any in the second.
Personality: Sorcha is suspicious of almost everyone that is even a little bit richer then herself. Knowing that the Carmichael family has made their fortune off the backs of her family for years, she views all riches as ill gotten gains from someone else's sweat or blood. She often talks about her richest clients behind their backs, mocking their speech and their measurements before cursing their names.
To the people she knows, Sorcha is a kind woman who often does extra mending and sewing work in trade for things she cannot easily afford or obtain. With Lady Carmichael only giving her enough to live on, she barters her clothes and skills for extra food, a pretty adornments, or scented soaps. But she often does work for her neighbors free to charge, patching the knees on boy's pants, fixing little girls dresses and darning countless socks.
