If it does happen, it would most likely be with the Wii U and 3DS rather than with the Wii.
This would be practically useless for me because I usually turn my Home Consoles and TV off when I'm done with them. I usually leave my 3DS on when I go out though, in hopes of getting a Streetpass or two. I think it would make more sense if it were with your home access point or with one of the access points registered in the System Settings.
