Lieutenant Application
Link to Profile: Kagura Shinryu
How long have you been in the guild?
Quite a while, I assume it to be long enough.
How active are you in the guild?
I was very active previously when I started out, and I am on daily for multiple hours now. I have plenty of time to contribute to this RP.
Why do you want to hold the rank of Lieutenant?
I want this position because it is available and here for the taking. Besides this, I'm accustomed to this position, as I had it previously before the RP had closed and reopened. (I mean, it hasn't officially reopened quite yet, but you know what I mean)
Why do you think you will do well as a Lieutenant? Your strengths in having this position as well as how you will contribute to the guild in this position.
I know I'd be successful in this position because I've played it out previously in this very guild. I do believe I created a well developed character to play their part successfully, and I intend to continue that.

Kagura sat on a couch that she wished was less occupied. Her body is slumped forward, her cheek caught in the cream palm of her right hand. Her eyes flicker around the scene dully. Her captain had allowed a night of celebration for the squad's efforts the previous day, yet he was too caught up in other affairs to participate. Now she was left to supervise. <******** you, Ray," Kagura thought bitterly. "You know I hate parties."
Kagura has never been much of a social animal. It isn't the job that had her so upset, as much as it is the setting. As the supervisor, Kagura herself is not permitted to indulge in any of the partying she is watching. She doesn't particularly mind that. The alcohol present is tasteless, and the only celebratory acts she ever indulges in only ever happens in her solitude or with very few close people present.
It was more of the setting that had her so upset. Kagura did not mind people watching, she did it quite often. But the party scene is simply just not one she is fond of. There were groups, of course. People broken into social circles. Heavy drinkers, who are passed out or wrecking the tavern they resided in. The social drinkers, who casually talked with each other, flirted with one another. There were some more awkward reapers in their squad, a small band who drank casually if it all. But that circle quickly departed anyway, out to go do something just as useless somewhere else.
The party eventually began to get out of the control. Glass was being flung, punches were launched, and vomit was found sporadically on the floor. Kagura continues to sit, unphased as her crimson gaze moves over the increasingly obscene setting. It is an underestimation to say she didn't care for how bad they wrecked the place, or each other for that matter. Through her years of experience, she finds most of the soul reapers would learn their lesson after they wake up in the morning, bruised and nude besides the vomit they wore with an aching head. And for the ones who don't, then it is probably because they didn't mind it much in the first place.
Kagura did, however, take some precautions. She required all the soul reapers attending the party to forfeit their zanpakutos, and had each of them exhaust their energy gauge by practicing higher leveled kido spells that very morning. Now all they had to kill each other with was broken glass bottles. Sure enough, it could do harm, but with the coordination that most of the drunks had, nobody would die, although they may be seriously injured.
The two males seated on the side of Kagura spoke obscenely of the women of soul society, disregarding her presence. Kagura perked her ears, though remains silent, looking straight forward, ever so watchful. These were the more fascinating conversations she overheard, sometimes. It isn't uncommon for a man to fantasize about sexual encounters with certain women, just as it isn't uncommon for a woman to fantasize about certain men. The difference is that this is a group of men, and they are drunk. They spewed their disorganized thoughts out while they drank, the abbhorred alcohol leaking from their breath with their words.
But the only thing more distracting than how loud the music was, how bad the vomit and alcohol wreaked, how defeaning these warriors screaming in drunken anger and occassionally ecstacy, is the alertness soul reapers so often got in the presence of an approaching hollow. Kagura sprung to her feet, "s**t, I hope..." she pauses, forgets everything around her and feels around. There is no mistaking it, the predators are some distance away, but they are approaching, "How the ******** did hollows get in here?" Kagura asked herself.
Like flames igniting within her veins, she surges forward, off the couch and out of the building. "Oh ********," Kagura groans. With all the distractions gone, she could feel the hollows approaching like the cool night air against her pale skin, exciting a shiver.
She quickly sends a the black winged insect of communication among the shinigami: a hell butterfly, requesting help from another team, since many of her own were far too intoxicated to play part in a battle. She grabs the batches of blades she had collected from her fellow squad members, and swiftly moves back inside. The first thing she does is unplug the booming speakers with her foot, as her hands are much too occupied "Party's over!" Kagura announces, "And if I hear one ******** complaint from anybody, don't think I'll hesitate to suspend your drunk a**!"
Silence overcame the majority of the soul reapers, mainly because the ones who were too drunk to comprehend anything she was saying correctly had already passed out. "We've got a bunch of hollows coming in from the east, and I don't have time to check who here is too intoxicated to fight or not. Nobody here is a twelve year old, I trust you guys can make the decision for yourselves. For those of you who are, come grab your zanpakuto," By now you could hear the booming footsteps of approaching hollows, "For those of you who aren't, well...you might as well keep drinking. Just don't get in the way," she announces.
Kagura's eyes scan for some sort of table, but most of them are already filled with drinks, so she places the weapons on the floor beneath her. Not too many squad members step up to take their weapons, but she still has a handful of members to work with, "I don't sense too many, we should be able to handle them. Just remember you can't rely on your kido, we already exhaus-"
Kagura had her speach broken off by the collapse of the the corner of the building, due to the monstrously large hand of a hollow. Large gold eyes, hidden in the mask of a hollow creeps up from the gaping hole, peering inside the tavern as debris falls.
Kagura reacts instantly, unsheathing her zanpakuto, and bolting forward. With a quick motion of her arm, her broad blade splits the head of the hollow in two, staining the floor with crimson. She dashes out, with the small band of shinigami following her lead. She releases her blade's shikai form, "Set the world ablaze, Shiva," wastes no time in hacking away at her prey. Kagura manipulates the blade, using Kora Ki Vanish to form the blazing whip-like tip of her blade, incinerating multiple hollows to ashes with wide flicks of her arms. She slashes vertically, horizontally, diagonally, though always aimed for the head of every hollow she slays, giving them a quick and painless end. It helped to save energy that she knew she would need to clean everything up.
The hollows are not great in size, a mere six remaining now, and they were giving a pathetic performance, "So how the hell did they get past the gates' guardian?" she could not help but wonder. But her thoughts are torn away by the cry of a shinigami. Kagura looks towards her right to see the third seat of their squad had split the wall of the tavern upon collision with it. His stomach was torn open and blood pools down through the sides beneath him, "Come on, he's ******** third seat and can't handle a hollow?" Kagura could only criticize, "He must not give the effects of alcohol the credit it deserves,"
Still, she moves to help the fellow soldier, slaying the demon threatening to kill him with the swing of her arm, the fiery chain of blue heiroglyphics soaring from the sky, and cutting through mask, then black flesh, leaving embers and ash behind before the rush of blood pours out. "Are you okay?" Kagura turns around, asking the shinigami. She meets eyes with the third seat, but whether it was from blood loss, intoxication, or both, the third seat had lost consciousness. "Crap," She kneels beside the shinigami, and places her left hand on the side of his neck, finding the pulse faded, but present.
Kagura only confirms he's still alive before a sudden pain shoots across her body from her arm, ripping a cry from her throat. She looks to her right, spotting a much smaller hollow behind her, its bloody talon, nearly three-fourths the size of her right arm, daggered through it.
The hollow raises it's left arm, prepared to lop off her head before she grabs it first with her own left arm. It struggles, pulls back, but she doesn't let go, despite the awkward position. Attempting to ignore the pulsating pain in her arm, Kagura attempts to transfer the heat of her blade into her left hand, as it held the demon's left arm. With a clenching grip, it takes only a moment before the end symbol of her whip is lost, and the black glove on her left hand is burned off, along with half of the body of the hollow.
It's scream of agony pierces her ears. Eager to silence that scream, she takes her blade with her left hand, and hacks the remainder of the had in two.
Kagura dislodges the claw in her arm, with clenched teeth, "********," She looks up to see only two hollows remaining, as well as two more of the shinigami she had gathered wounded. Kagura strides forward, behind one hollow as it attacks a shinigami, carving through it's head with her whip, this time with her left arm. She breathes a heavy sigh to find the last one dead beside three other soul reapers, each panting furiously.
Kagura sheathes her blade eagerly, before steadily walking to the third seat, "If you guys have any energy left, I'd appreciate you helping out the wounded. Take them over to the hospital," Her own pale hands move to cover the unconscious shinigami's stomach, staining them with his blood.
"God, this wound is nasty. You got careless," she speaks to the air as she concentrates her kido, healing his body as best she could. It was difficult to focus with the wound in her arm, but she still manages. As she finishes, she lifts the body. She walks through puddles of blood to the opening of the building to see her passed out squad members on the floor. Kagura sighs at the sight, "That's okay. I think I got careless too."
