According to recent reports, the Heartless have invented a process of obtaining mass amounts of hearts. The process is called, "Harvesting". When the heartless invade a world, darkness consumes the people, infiltrates and roots out the darkness within people, then removes their hearts, thus adding onto the Heartless onslaught. After this is done, the world becomes no more, it is devoid of all light and life, beyond help.
