Roll an Eleven: Canyon Field: The canyon walls towers high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces are very damp which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff and allow smaller, nimbler pokemon to grab and swing around. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Keeping up is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FLYING and ROCK type attacks.

Lenore drew the hood back, allowing the sunlight to hit her face. At her side, Mephistopheles floated down to the canyon walls.

Kytti walked in and surveyed the craggy land and thought to herself, "This should be interesting."
Her deerling walked up to her side, nudged her gently and trotted off into the field, readily awaiting her opponent.

Mephistopheles noted the deerling as an opponent he had fought once before. "Greetings. In case you have forgotten, I am Mephistopheles. Let us begin." The duskull wasted no time in raising his arms to send a focused blast of snow at the other pokemon.

The chill of the blizzard set in on the little deerling. It moved slowly, trying to regain sensation.
"Attack back with your Shadow Ball!" cheered Kytti.
She shook off the cold and opened her jaw and let a shadow form. It continued to build to the size of a softball then launched towards the duskull.

Mephistopheles was struck by the shadow ball sliding back a fair bit over the canyon. Bringing his hands closer together, he spun the snowstorm into a fury around the deerling, looking to capture it.

Willow felt a little cold, then shivered to get a little warm.
"Ready your attack! You can do it!" Kytti urged on cheerfully.
The deerling opened her jaw and built up another ball of shadow and launched it towards the duskull.

As Willow sensed another draw of cold, she dodged to one side and let out another shadow attack.

Mephistopheles took another shot to the face before bowing. "I concede. Once more you have bested me. Well met." Darkness descended upon the arena, and once it lifted, the duskull was beside Lenore once more, her hood back up. With a small smile, the girl turned and left.
