Ofelia was almost done preparing her 'I'm sorry I kicked your a**' gift for Deryk, still feeling a bit sore about pounding the man down to the point where his shield shattered. It'd been stupid of her, she should have stopped when she got hurt and was almost to the end of hers, but the desire to win and just maybe not thinking had lead to her punching him.
The fact that she'd won all her spars thus far totally didn't have anything to do with her apology gift either, but the thought did make her happy. It was a far cry from her early trainee days when everyone just kicked her around like a rag doll, or else went easy on her. But that was beside the point. The point now was she needed to go see Deryk because before the spar went entirely in her favor he'd promised (or she assumed he promised - Ofelia liked to make things up) to help her find training videos on how to fight better.
The teen pulled her phone out and flipped through the list of numbers. It seemed as though everyone was in her phone book, even people she didn't know, and that worked well enough for her to try and locate Deryk. The harder part now was texting him properly, since she and tech still were on a hate-hate relationship.
Blade Kuroda Text to: Deryk From: Ofelia both wanna video look training okay
The text looked horrible and Ofelia tried another one because well, Ofelia.
Blade Kuroda Text to: Deryk From: Ofelia i have your brownies
There, that was better. All she had to do now was wait for a response and see what he wanted to do. If he didn't want to look for a video she could at least give him the brownies and see if he wanted to do something else, like just talk.
. . .there was also this strong need for her to go and get supplies from the real world. All her baking was leaving the kitchen sore for certain things, like flour and sugar. Plus she needed vanilla too, they were almost out, and some cards wouldn't hurt. . . .

Ofelia turned and looked at Deryk, a puzzled expression on her face. "Big ba...oh, yeah! Ah made a lot, Ah didn' know how many ya wanted or if ya wanted ta take some ta share wit' people, or share wit' me." Ofelia always over-baked, that was one of her problems. Still over-baking at least meant no one went hungry. She chuckled a bit at his sudden recovery. "Hello ta ya too. Ya wanna eat one now or wait till we get ta lookin' round?"
The bag was held out and was very warm to the touch, the brownies obviously fresh. "Half'a 'em have nuts, the other half don'. Ah'mma person who dun like nuts in their food, but can eat nuts on their own, so. . . " Now she certainly made it sound like she wanted him to share with her. "So Ah make sure ta always make both, jus' in case there's someone else like me out there." That was a really bad cover job but she was trying so hard.
The next step was to motion for Deryk to have a seat and work his magic on the computer because people had to be magic to work computers. Fists never seemed to help much, that she knew.

Ofelia blushed faintly at the comment, happy to be praised. She liked to see people eating anything she made and she liked when they enjoyed it even more. "Roomies? Ah, was yer room destroyed too? Mah was flooded, an' lately Ah've jus' been sleepin' in the kitchen or the main commons." Ofelia didn't have anywhere to go, anyone she could ask to bunk with. She wasn't going to admit that now, they had other things to think about. Like training videos.
"Also, Ah'm glad ya like 'em. Ah've been cookin' an' bakin' fer mahself since Ah was...eight, maybe nine?" Honestly she couldn't remember, but as long as she knew she'd been doing it for a while any age probably would have worked. Still, best not to lie. "Mah aunt an' brother didn' really like the kitchen much so it fell on me ta feed mahself an' mah brother if we wanted a meal. Auntie always ate out, or made sommin' quick in the microwave that she took to her room."
When Deryk pulled up the screen and entered something Ofelia grabbed a chair and shuffled next to him, lifting a smaller brownie from the non-nut pile and chewing at it. No need to take anything huge, even if he was sharing. "How 'bout ya? Can ya cook or bake yerself? Also, where'd ya learn computer if ya dun mind me askin'."

"My uh...cure all fer tech is jus' ta hit it until it works." Ofelia chuckled sheepishly, shrugging her shoulders. "When mah phone kept beepin' at me Ah threw it at the wall till it broke. Mah second one is kinda on its last legs too." Ofelia reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone; sure enough it was cracked and looking like it wanted to give up the ghost at any moment.
"Also, s'good yer wit' Gale. Ah've heard grapevine he's a full hunter now? S'kinda awesome, Ah'm a bit jealous'a his skill. Dunno if he'd believe me if Ah told 'em that though." Truthfully Ofelia hadn't seen Gale since he helped her get to her room, though maybe she'd spotted him now and then on missions - oh wait, no, they were together on that one mission back to Georgia. Hmmm. "But oh, yanno, if ya ever want sommin' ta eat let me know, Ah'll cook or bake it fer ya. Ah've got no real skills or hobbies, but bakin' an' cookin' is sommin' Ah can be proud in."
The teen leaned closer to the screen, and by proxy to Deryk, as she waited to see what loaded.

"Actually, Ah dun think Ah've ever met Leon personally. Izzat the guy who always show up wit' his shirt off?" Or maybe it was the guy at the girls party that everyone wanted to be a stripper? If that was the person then she wasn't really too sure she wanted to meet him, on account she'd likely flip out from embarassment and memories. "Ah...think yeah, maybe it would be a good idea ta ask 'em 'bout boxin'." She'd ask with a lot of people around and hope a large group of people went with her to learn.
If Leon offered to teach, that is.
While the video loaded Ofelia learned closer yet again, though she quickly backed up when her shoulder bumped against his. "Ack, sorry 'bout that. Ah dun see too well on small screens wit' only one eye, so lemme know if Ah get too close or sommin'." She was telling the truth, but Ofelia's concept of personal space was also skewed to where she didn't mind being close to others. "Should Ah maybe stand up? Also while Ah'm at it, what's a katar? It's funny, but mah knowledge'a weapons is really, really limited."

Ofelia stayed seated but learned back a bit, squinting her eye in an effort to see better without leaning to close. The person on the video was quite skilled, it was amazing to see how they moved, and their weapon was amazing to look at. About halfway into it Ofelia may or may not have been blushing, delighted with getting to watch something this interesting.
"It's always amazin' ta see someone so skilled show off their talents, or at least Ah think so." She had a half-eaten brownie in her hand, having nibbled at it idly while being too distracted to actually properly consume it. "The only problem Ah see here though is Rue's on mah hands direct, like ya said, an' this person doesn' really punch an' stab as much as they do slice."
Was it weird that Ofelia was actually paying that much attention to a video? Yes. Yes it was.
"Yer weapon comes from under yet wrist, yeah? Do ya got any scars from it, or are ya ever worried ya might snap yer weapon under an attack?" Ofelia was asking questions during the periods of time the person on the screen stopped to rest, or started talking about things she wasn't interested in. Talking was boring, action was better.
