Akesh started his day like all the others: doing his morning meditations under the sunrise. This is his daily power-up, his etheric wings washed with blue energy. Each breath he took charged these wings even more, bringing them sharply into focus at the end of his sunrise salutations.
Upon getting back to his flat, his stomach grumbled, demanding that it be charged as well. Pancakes. That was the answer. But having no domestic skills he decided to head to town and eat at the diner. It was about 8am and the day was beautiful.

 Mona Lisa woke up in a rather good mood. The sun was still rising and none of her roommates had gotten up yet. She liked it that way – quiet and peaceful. Strolling downstairs, she made herself a cup of tea adding just a hint of sugar. "Ah," she sighed, "Perfect." The tea was wonderful but it would not fill her stomach. She recalled over hearing a couple Noodles talking about a diner that was in town. She looked at the large black clock hanging on the wall. 8o’clock. Yes, Lisa thought, I’ll have just enough time to beat the breakfast rush if I hurry. Heading out, she grabbed some cash before locking the door behind her.

The door chimed when he walk in the diner, their were only a few customers so far. Akesh felt their eyes upon him as soon as the door closed behind him. He heard someone mumble "look at that freak." and "pretty boy." But this was normal to him. He always stood out, so he sighed took a breath and walked up to the bar to have a sit.
"What will you have love?" a waitress asked while pouring a cup of coffee for someone close by him.
"Pancakes and earl gray tea please, oh with cream!"
"I'll be right back with your tea." She said disappearing into the kitchen.

Lisa ran so quickly to the diner that she soon found herself flying. She always did this subconsciously for some reason. It never occurred to her that she could use her wings to get from one place to another. Her demon side usually would convincer her they were just for looks, to attract attention. Landing daintily on the sidewalk, she pushed open the door and walked inside to be treated to a delightful smell of muffins and coffee.
"What can I get for you doll?" asked the waitress as she poured some tea for a male Noodle sitting a couple seats down.
"Um…" She quickly scanned the menu. "I’ll just have a blueberry muffin" She smiled at the server sweetly. Suddenly her eyes became unfocused. Then she blinked rapidly and looked back at the menu, as if seeing it for the first time. "Ah yes…I’ll have a sweet roll and a cup of coffee. Black please." She smiled again, but it had a more sinister hint to it.
"Rrright…" The waitress said slowly. "So, one blueberry muffin, a sweet roll, and a cup of coffee – black. Will that be all?"
"Ew! I don’t want a blueberry muffin!" Mona sneered. ”I want the blueberry muffin though!” Lisa said indignantly. "UGH! Fine! Yes, just go get our food!" Mona shouted at the waitress. No one had noticed her when she walked in, but they were all looking at her now. "What are you imbeciles staring at!?" She demanded. The poor female Noodle did not realize that the argument about a simple blueberry muffin had been between herself and her alternate personality. To everyone else she had been talking to herself. "Why do you have to do that to me?" Lisa sighed. "It’s so embarrassing!" She looked over and noticed the male Noodle watching her out of the corner of his eye. "I’m so sorry! My friend is always a little…testy in the morning."

He sipped his tea, letting the warmth fill him, and smiled at the newcomer. "Friend? It's okay miss, I find that most noodles need that first cup of coffee to really be at one with themselves." He sat the tea back down to let it cool a bit more. "I like tea myself, i find it soothing." He turned to her and looked at her a bit more. She was rather stunning, fiery hair and bejeweled fur. "I'm Akesh, I don't think I'd seen you here before. Almost anything you get here is good, I'd stay away from the raisin bran muffin though."

Lisa smiled, "When I say friend…" She bowed her head letting her hair fall in front of her face. Now that she looked around she realized that Mona must have made an appearance. That was an interesting thought he mentioned though. To be at one with yourself…she wondered if she could ever be at one with Mona…but she doubted it. Mona then flung her head up high, tossing her hair out of her face. "Oh no, I believe she means mutual acquaintance" She gave him a rather saucy look, narrowing her eyes so she looked at him through her thick lashes. "Akesh you say? Charmed I’m sure. I’ll be sure to stay away from the bran muffin. My name is Mona." She blinked rapidly as though something got in her eye then said: "And my name is Lisa" She offered him her paw. "Nice to meet you."

Akesh smiled, he was picking up the fact that she had two very active dueling personalities. He had never met anyone like her. Hardly knew how to even talk to her...or was it them. "Mona Lisa, two very beautiful names. I am quite charmed indeed Mona." He thought he would try speaking to each name individually. "I'm glad I came in for breakfast this morning."
He took her paw and shook it warmly "Lisa, do you often start your days this early? It's nice meeting new morning people." He took a bite of his pancakes and a sip of tea. "mmm, I like to start my days with the sun rise. I feel I can just get a lot more done in a day, and go to bed at the end of a day satisfied.

Lisa’s eyes widened. Did you hear that Mona?! He’s talking to both of us! I noticed you fool! And apparently he’s talking to you so answer him and stop staring or I swear I’ll take control of this situation. Her expression became kind of blank as she had this internal conversation but then she looked back at Akesh. "Thank you," Lisa answered sweetly. "I try to start my days early. It’s the only way I can get some quiet time away from my roommates."
The waiter finally came and delivered her breakfast while Akesh spoke. "Took you long enough!" Mona scoffed. "Thank you very much." Lisa said, taking a bite of her blueberry muffin. "I feel that way too! I tried to tell my roommates this but they think I’m crazy. They love sleeping in."

"Only one of my roommates is an early, so I know what you mean." After listening to her address the waitress, who looked confused as she returned to the kitchen. He thought for a moment. "So how do you two spend your day? It must be hard to agree on one thing, you both seem extremely different." Akesh took another bite of his pancakes, he was really interested in this girl and wanted to get to know her, mostly the Lisa personality. Having never met anyone with a dual personality before he didn't want to offend her. And he just realized not everyone likes to talk over their food. "I hope I'm not bothering you, if you want to just eat, I'll leave you alone to eat in peace." He really hope she was enjoying the morning conversation as much as he was.

It’s…odd that he’s figured us out so quickly. commented Mona, for once not sounding angry or bitter. I agree, said Lisa causiously. Do you think he knows who’s who? I don’t know…It seems that way. Maybe he’s got magic in those wings of his. Or in that head piece. Mona looked him up and down slowly, Let’s just both talk to him and find out. "We are extremely different but we don’t fight all the time. We mostly just walk around town, check out the shops." Lisa nodded, "We like to go to antique shops and look around." It’s one of the few things they actually enjoyed doing together. "I like to design things, like these-" Mona patted her headband, tail, throat, and wrists, "I sowed all these." She smiled, sowing was her one passion. "And I enjoy reading. I’ve also started doing yoga recently, I find it very relaxing. Although my…mutual acquaintance won’t admit it, it helps us get along a little better. I haven’t been to class today yet, as you can probably see." She blushed, again embarrassed at Mona’s brash personality. "Oh you’re not bothering us, I was just grabbing a quick bite." She smiled "So you have roommates too? How many, are they fun to live with?"

It seemed to Akesh that after he would address both of them at the same time her face momentarily went blank before she replied. He couldn't read her in that moment. He was able to read the energy of everyone around him, if he had done his deep meditations he could even see their auras, but he felt her two distinct personality's as soon as they decided to speak. Mona spoke first, then then energy switched and Lisa nodded in agreement. It was like he was talking to two sisters in one body. "Those are very pretty. So delicate though, your paws must be very graceful when you work." He was glad that neither side of him minded the conversation. He was happy it seemed to be going relatively smoothly. "Oh you like yoga, may seem a bit odd for a guy, but I enjoy it also. I can really feel the energy flow through me after a yoga session." He took a swallow of tea and answered Lisa's question. "I live in more of a commune then a home. I have fifteen roommates, all very different. I find it a great to live with so many though. I learn so much about humanity when so many different types of it are under one roof."

Mona laughed merrily when he complimented her on her sowing skills. "Why thank you. I do try!" She sipped her dark coffee, before delicately placing it on a coaster. Lisa nodded as he spoke. "Oh no! It’s not weird at all. There are quite a few male Noodles in my beginner class. Although they don’t really take it that seriously I’m afraid. Even some of the girls too! They’re always making comments or laughing in the middle of class. It’s hard to keep Mona from yelling at them. I can’t wait to get into a more advanced class." Lisa made a little half smile before having another bit of blueberry muffin.
So how do you think it’s going so far? She asked Mona. Hmm…seems to be going okay. At least he hasn’t run off screaming ‘She’s crazy! Crazy I tell you!’…yet anyway. She responded to Lisa. I think that’s a little bit of an exaggeration don’t you think? Lisa said calmly. I don’t think so! They always give us that look… You know exactly what I’m talking about! Mona was starting to get a little testy so Lisa quickly tried to calm her down. After a few minutes Lisa guessed that Mona was composed enough to speak again.
"We live with two other Noodles at the moment. We’re in the process of getting another level on our house though. There have been some Noodles asking us if we have a place where they can stay, but we only have one guest room. They said they would pay for their share of the bills and all so we can’t really say no. Unfortunately, it will the make the damn place louder than it already is." Mona griped. "Mona! Watch your mouth." Lisa scolded, shocked that Mona would use such language in front of this kind gentleman. Mona just rolled her eyes. "I apologize for nothing." Lisa once again let her hair fall in her face to hide her embarrassment, though strangely did not apologize on Mona’s behalf. "I agree with you, it is very interesting learning about all different sorts of Noodles." She finished her muffin and crumbled the wrapper into a little ball. Hoping Mona hadn’t made the conversation too awkward, Lisa asked: "So what did you have planned for today?"

“Actually, I could use your help!” Akash smiled serenely, unphased by Mona Lisa’s bipolar nature. “I need to go into the forest west of town today to pick herbs for a remedy I am making for a friend. If there is one thing that I am not good at, it is sewing a healing compress bandage to apply the medicine. Would you like to accompany me to the forest today? The weather’s fine and I’d like the company of.. both of you.” His eyes twinkled from behind his teacup as he took a sip of his steaming Earl Grey tea.

"Oh, that sounds fun! What do you think Mona?" Lisa asked, unaware she had asked out loud. "Psh, as much fun as pulling weeds can be I suppose." Mona muttered before finishing her coffee. "Yes, I guess we can help. I didn’t really have anything planned for today anyway…" She popped the last bit of her sweet roll in her mouth, clearly showing that she was still annoyed at having loud roommates. Lisa sighed at Mona’s behavior and gave Akash a halfhearted, apologetic smile. She was so used to apologizing for Mona, she had started to kind of ignore her, which only made things worse when she talked to people because she would just appear rude. But then again if she did apologize it made her look crazy. It was a vicious never ending cycle. Lisa raised her hand and waved the waiter over. "Check please."
