Hello there. I am Charlene Thundercloud, but do call me Charlie. I am 24 years old and a total geek. I joined the guild a little while ago hoping to seek some challenge and to bestow some tips and advice to others (and maybe look for some improvement myself). I work at a daycare and that eats up most of my week so you'll see me probably early/late morning. I live overseas, so the time gap will be between 6-9 hours for those of you who live stateside.

I have over ten years of roleplay experience, and, as a gamer and avid reader, I use my vast expanse of knowledge in my roleplays. I began on Neopets, graduated to gaiaonline, where I remained for about six years before leaving for over a year, then returning. So, with that in mind, do not mind my joindate if ever you see it - it is untrue. I am also a tabletop roleplayer, so I enjoy games such as Dungeons and Dragons and the Chaosium system. Being able to dodge and parry on a whim in battle really comes in handy.

As of right now, I am actually not involved in any roleplay of any type, though I am interested in one-on-ones mostly. Groups are nice if they intrigue me enough and give me a bit of challenge so I can improve. I enjoy fantasy, though not heavy fantasy - the stuff pulled out of your arse kind of fantasy and some other extreme stuff I've never heard of. Give me dragons, fae, drow and dwarves and we're good. I'm also up for a light sci-fi/post-apocolyptic setting (aka something like Fallout). The latter one is a setting I've come to be attached to due to a tabletop campaign I'm currently in being put in this style. I love series roleplays, but I've not done one in so long. If anything I would love to delve into Teen Titans again. I once ran a really good roleplay under that series that lasted just over two years. Probably almost three.

Welcome to the SDRP!

I remember Neopets. . . does that thing even still exist?

Hope you find what you're looking for in here. We've got a 1x1 subforum so we're cool with that. You can post a partner search thread in the main forum for a while and we'll move it to OOC once you find a partner. I'd offer to play with you myself but I've tossed into a few too many RPs lately. Mel (umbraja) might be interested though. She's got some sort of a Falloutish world she likes to play in and is notorious for running multiple 1x1s parallel to each other till they converge into a group where you suddenly notice that, hey, the shadowy b*****d you've been chasing for years. . . yeah, that's this other 1x1 she's been running with your best friend. >.> . . . she's evil. If you're ok with that though I'll tell her to hit you up.

Looks like it is. Thirteen years and still going strong. Heh. Nostalgia. I have a duffle bag that I used for my martial arts class back in high school from Neopets.

And thank you for the welcome.

Sounds fascinating. I've never merged one-on-ones before, and it does intrigue me. I'd love to use my character for that (maybe I'll work on getting her character improved on for actual campaign-time xP). Definitely up for that.

There the boy goes, giving away my secrets. . .

So, what sort of setting, plot, and character would you like?

I tend to work best with characters that have some spine to them so they'll survive what I dish out without having to come up with excuses. I can play with any gender but prefer ages between racial equivalents for 17 and 45 unless they're really interesting. I can do romance but prefer an actual plot. The plots I run usually start small and snowball into something epic if allowed to go on long enough but you can keep it simple if you just walk away from strange things. And don't touch stuff that 'compels' you to pick it up. That's just good advice in general.

I can do just about any setting but have fantasy and post-apocalyptic worlds most fleshed out. The post-apocalyptic is a fun mix of several sorts but with a heavy Fallout influence (as I was playing the game when making the world). It's got different regions with different sorts of post-apocalyptia so let me know your flavor and it probably exists. If not then I'll add it.

For my fantasy worlds, I've got multiple - from the Tolkienish high fantasy to Wonderlandian oddity but mostly stick with D&D varieties. Speaking of D&D. . . I've been wanting to run an experimental campaign around here with sheets and dice and such. If you're willing to be a test subject we could work the logistics out one on one then possibly drag other players in later. I do 3rd ed, or 3.5 (not much difference) but started in second, have played first, and loathe 4th (sorry if it's your thing, I hated 3rd ed when it first came out too). I can play in pretty much any of the settings, even Dark Sun and Planescape, but Faerun is one of my favorite. Probably has something to do with the epic level Harper I raised from a first level newb.

Anyway, let me know what you're craving currently and I'll set something up.

This woman, she is a powerhouse.

I'd say throw caution to the wind and have at it.

Hehe, he certainly seems good at that, no?

Ah well, it just gets me excited.

Plot, well... based on the campaign we're doing right now, it's going off of a wing-it sort of philosophy. Whereever we go and whatever we do, it's all freeform. But we might have something to do with terminators and now my character has joined the NCR. That's besides the point. Right now, I can't think of a plot right off the top of my head, only because I'm on such short time - work and all that. The character I want to use is a genetic experiment from Vault 51 - Area 51, rather, veering away from the Fallout references. She's a siberian tiger, created to be a powerful warrior. Very skilled with guns and swords, and highly intelligent. I've had a lot of fun with her.

I use this same character in a fantasy setting, so I'm up for either or, though I would love a Fallout-ish setting right now.

That sounds interesting. I would love to give that a try, and I play 3.5 ed - dispise 4th ed to the core. Faerun would be awesome, as that was the setting for the first campaign I partook in.

Oh, dangit. I thought I replied to this days ago. Sorry about that. xp

My Falloutish world has a nation with an experimental military unit where your tiger would fit in nicely. That particular region is a bit more Cyberpunky than Fallout but the soldiers get sent out into the Wastelands regularly so we could have it be away from 'home' so to speak. As a soldier the initial plot would be pretty straightforward 'go do this thing' and that might be nice and easy to start with. As it progresses it would evolve into something more but that would be a good starting point to get a feel for characters and the world.

One of my fantasy worlds also has a feline anthro race that would work if you'd rather do that.

Either world could have D&D rules applied to it if you like.

Let me know your preferences.

Sorry about the delay. Work and everything. Took the time to think it over, and I feel my muse leaning more towards the Falloutish one. I'd like to explore that some more and delve into something away from fantasy.

Though, now that I've read the only Drizzt comics I'll ever come across (the seven that were printed by DDP), I've been in some sort of drow mode. Coupled with playing Assassin's Creed and you've got a drow assassin itching to be played.
I just made a drow... dampyre assassin, to be precise. Within the last week, actually.

Will search for that later. Fallout is calling me.

Speaking of DnD, how would the rules be applied? With dice rolls?

Apologies to everyone, but my computer - after about six years of use - has decided to quit working on me today and I am now in search of a new one.

Internet use will be infrequent, so I do not know how long it will be until this issue is resolved.

Will update when necessary.

Oh nos! Computer dieage. . . well, I hopes you manage to get that sorted out soon. Six years is a pretty good run for a comp though. Maybe Mel will have that Falloutish game ready when you get back. She has been working on it.

Hello all. It's been a long time since I popped my head in here. I'm sorry for the disappearence. In truth I had yet to find a computer to suit my needs, but I did a LOT of research. Then I found this baby (Click on it if you're really interested 8D~ ). She packs a punch and will handle practically any MMO or computer game I wish to play. With a ton of space. Plus I fell in love with the design.

Simply put, I can't wait till she arrives. Which, unfortunately, won't be for another month or two -Sadface-

But in the meantime, I thought I'd give you all an update as to my whereabouts... if any one of you remember me... sweatdrop
