Description: - Hair:
[x] - Clothing: Based on -
[x] [x] - without the britches under the skirt
[x]Artists are more than welcome to interpret the clothing "refs" as much as needed to fit the world of Tenadji. When it comes to character design, this is where I struggle the most (since I usually focus on how my characters act and worry about how they look later). I would like to keep the halter-like aspect of the shirt, and would prefer she wear a medium/long length skirt.
- Markings:
[x] [x] [x]I'd like a fairly swirly nature to her markings, preferably across one side of her face (around an eye? too much?) and either one or both shoulders. I keep seeing vine-like markings down her arms, but I feel like it may be overkill. Just in general, there shouldn't be any hard corners and everything should flow together.
Accessories: Wooden jewelry - either a
bracelet or a
necklace, which Phen made herself. Possibly some beads in her hair? And, of course, the
knife she uses to carve it all (which doubles as a handy-dandy dagger in times of danger).
Important Info: As a youngling, Phen was more interested in keeping her head down, being out of the way, and staying out of trouble. Jerarda changed all that by singling Phenyo out and dragging her along on one adventure after another. Maybe it was because Phenyo was the least threatening of the younglings their age, or maybe because Phen just looked like she needed a friend - you'd have to go ask Jer why she picked this quiet and unassuming girl, but regardless, Phen wouldn't have it any other way.
Hobby: Somewhere along the line Phen picked up wood carving. She started off with little figures for her and Jer to play with as children, and has currently moved on to jewelry. She wants to make her own arrows once she becomes an Archer, and definitely plans on making her own bow.
C&C:
She's an incredibly patient person, I see, but what is her breaking point? What sort of thing would set her over the edge? - Most comments from people roll off Phenyo's back like water, as do their actions. Jerarda is really the only one who knows how to get under her skin, but the arguments are fast and fleeting simply because Jer acts without thinking, and Phen knows this; she can't stay mad at Jer for very long. Do not, however, put down Jerarda - Phenyo will defend her best friend until the very death (more on the why of this later).
When you say Attentive (not always in a good way), what do you mean? Does she come off, sometimes, as overbearing in her attention-giving? - I don't know if I would exactly say she's overbearing, and yet she is. Phenyo is constantly talking Jer out of bad ideas, encouraging her to take the slightly
lesser dangerous route...and up until now has always managed to keep the two of them out of truly life-threatening trouble.
Also, in a note unrelated to Jer, her politeness towards others can be downright unnerving. I imagine her treating the elders of the tribes like someone may treat a god, with utter reverence and devotion bordering on worship.
I like that she and Jerarda are so close, but I'd really like to hear more of their story: What drew them together? What keeps them together? What does Phenyo think of Jerarda? - Aside from what's already been mentioned, Phenyo loves Jerarda. Not in just a "you are my sister, we are of the same tribe" sort of way, but in the "stay with me, be with me, let me have your babies" way. However, somewhere along the line Phenyo convinced herself that Jer would never be interested in her like
that;she deals with her pining internally. It is the only secret Phenyo has from Jer, and will make for good RPs later in their stories.
In general, I really like her and think that you have a very solid base, but I'd like to see you flesh things out a little more deeply; maybe take your base characteristics, which are wonderful definitions, and try to apply them a little more specifically to Phenyo. - The hardest part about this is that Phen's whole life literally revolves around Jerarda, which is what her story going forward is going to be about. She needs to learn how to be her own person apart from being Jer's Shadow, and it's going to be a difficult and heart-wretching road to travel, because for once she's going to have to go it alone.
