All signs of home behind her, Umeme kept her eyes peeled for a place to bed down for the evening. Though the sun was still high in the sky, it wouldn't be long before it began to make its descent. She needed to prepare, she couldn't allow her instincts to fail no matter how homesick she became. She was out here in the rogue lands for a reason, not just for her own leisure. She was here to do her duty to her pride, and she wouldn't let them down.

Looking up into the sky once more, the lioness inhaled a deep breath and allowed her chest to puff out accordingly. She would do her duty with pride. Now renewed with a new but limited sense of pride she carried on. Taking note of the landmarks around her, and special items she found along the path. Things that could prove useful should she need a distraction or protection quick and in a hurry. She'd never been this far into the rogue lands before, and truthfully she had no idea what she would encounter while out here.

Talfrid would find his home. He was not lost. He did not consider himself lost, anyway. Any time he wanted her could just fly skyward, even without wings, and take a gander around. See if he was on the right track. He could even just fly there directly, if he really wanted to.

But rumors were enough for now. He would arrive when he arrived, and they would be ready for him. Everything needed to follow a plan, and this time he had to ensure that his plan was followed the way he designed it.

He had left too much to chance last time.

Padding along, he saw a lioness ahead of him and he tilted his head. He did not bother with a disguise, not yet at least. He did not need one. Lacking large wings to give him away, he was just a large lion wearing strange cloths. Nothing that screamed God, as far as he thought, though lions often said he 'felt' differently to others and some had guessed what he was just by that.

She seemed to be looking around, as he had been, and he wondered if she was trying to get her bearings on her location as well.

"Are you looking for something, my lady?"

Unsheathing her claws and gripping them into the dirt, Umeme attempted to maintain her composure. Silently cursing herself inwardly for allowing such a slip up to happen. Having been so obsessed with her surroundings, she had allowed the unthinkable to happen - someone had snuck up on her. Deep, slow breaths were all she could really do to keep herself from lashing out at the lion in question, and so she did. Slowly preparing herself to finally answer his question.

"N-No." She grumbled, slowly turning her attention and her body toward the voice. Upon first glance she saw nothing of note - just a strangely marked lion wearing some rather odd clothes. But she shrugged it off, not really caring much for physical possessions. "Well yeah, I am. But its not something in a very conventional sense." She stood tall, allowing her stance to never waver. Fully intent on allowing her body language to express that she was more than capable of defending herself. Though she would act calm and innocent in front of this stranger, he had no idea what kind of hurt she could really deal to him.

She could not really blame herself for the god sneaking up on her: he had a very light foot. Mostly because he could fly and hover, and he never settled his weight all the way unless he was sure someone was watching him. It helped him to hunt and to move.

Anyway, a lioness had chomped on his ankle not too long ago and it was still stinging. He stood on it now, though, full, his leg slightly bent to compensate.

"Perhaps I can help with unconventional lost, if you would like," he smiled warmly, his green eyes soft and harmless. Though he was a large and regal lion, Talfrid did not have to carry his power with him all the time. Rather, he did not need to be intimidating all the time, and was not one of those lions that met others with growls and claws.

Which was probably why he had let that other lion bite him. He smiled at her.

"I do not mean to intrude, my lady. I just noted your body language, and thought, perhaps, you were seeking something."

Eyeing over the new found male, Umeme tried to inconspicuously inspect the male, though she had a feeling she was being pretty obvious about it. He seemed to be of no harm, but looks could be quite deceiving as she had learned before. Though it wasn't just his nature that she was inspecting for, he had offered to help after all. But that was now, he had no idea exactly what it was she was looking for just yet. With a small upturn of the upper lip she allowed herself to respond.

"Perhaps you could...." She paused, debating whether she should spill her guts to this stranger. "But if you don't mind, before I can trust you, i'd like to ask you some ... questions." By this point, she was once again walking. Her eyes watching the male the whole time, her paws gently hitting the ground as she awaited an answer.

"Hmm you have quite the eye don't you? I am looking for something but forgive me if i'm a bit nervous to divulge that information."

Talfrid was used to being inspected, and he did not stop her as she looked him over. He was a strange looking lion, even if he did feel he was not as strange as some. He was large and wore weird things, and had the air of a God about him.

Maybe one day he would invest in a disguise. It wouldn't take him much. Some thought. Blend in with the crowd. Become the lion they really knew one more time.

But maybe that's what stopped him.

Shaking off those thoughts, he smiled at her and bowed his head slightly.

"Please, feel free to ask as many questions as you would like, my dear. I do not mind answering them. I do not mean to pry, either, into things you are uncomfortable speaking of. So we will go in turn, and you may ask me what you wish before I ask anything in return." He smiled warmly, thinking it a good compromise.

There was no question that the lion she had bumped into was quite the gentleman. His bow, only furthered to ruffle her feathers, though this time in a good way. Her face felt warm as she stood there attempting to hide her smile. Were males really supposed to be so polite? Honestly she couldn't say, being raised in a pride full of females didn't leave much time for her to wonder. But now this encounter had her mind running on overdrive. Why would her pride try so hard to keep themselves away from such nice encounters? Was she just under some kind of spell? Now that she thought about it, her toes were a bit tingly...

'Enough Umeme! Snap out of it!' Lucky for her, her thoughts were loud enough to break her weird concentration.

His offer seemed fair, though she wasn't so much worried about his prying as she was embarrassed. She wasn't all too sure, but it didn't seem like proper etiquette to run up to a male and declare they have your babies.

She paused her foot tapping long enough to respond, though her nerves were definitely a bit on end now.

"Very well, that agreement sounds more than fair." She dipped her head in respect.

"So who are you exactly? Why are you so large and wearing such strange clothes. Were you following me?" Then rush of questions flowed out of her mouth before she could stop them, and embarrassed she put a paw to her lips and spoke once more.

"Sorry...Let's just pretend I only asked you one of those ok?"

Talfrid was a very handsome lion, but he hardly seemed to notice that. It was not fair for him to claim it was his personality or his own design. He was a God, and they were often seen in an even grander light than they intended.

He was certainly not casting a spell on her on purpose, though.

He smiled at her as she accepted his little deal. He would not ask her too much, and try not to make her upset. She already seemed uncomfortable. The last thing he wanted to do was make it worse.

"I was not following you," he said, shaking his head. He smiled, not minding her lumping a few questions together. He would answer them and only ask her one in return. He was curious, but he also knew what she was. They were on uneven footing there. But at least he did not have giant wings to make things even more complicated.

"I am large because... well. The same reason I wear these clothes. I represent something bigger than simply wandering. I am destined to find my proper pride, and complete my duties there. But along the way, I am set to serve those that need me."

He tilted his head at her.

"What are you doing out here?"

(Also, Talfrid has all his solos done!)

For a moment, relief washed over the lioness. Relief that the male hadn't become angered by her piling questions, relief that he seemed so willing to answer, and then it all disappeared. She had known it was coming, but she hadn't wanted to accept it. It was really embarrassing to say the least, but what could she do about it?

Umeme inhaled a deep breath, completely oblivious to her paws as they shuffled mindlessly in the dirt.

"I-I'm looking for something..." Losing control of her voice, she did her best to try and find it. "It's pretty unconventional, but I need a male..." She paused, feeling her fur begin to heat around the cheeks.

"A male to give me babies."

There. She'd said it, and it was now in the open, regardless of how awkward it was she had at least some faith that he would take her seriously.

"Its part of my pride's customs, and its my turn to bring new blood to the pride." She attempted to give him a sheepish smile, and act like things were normal. But by this point, things were as far from normal as they could possibly get.

Al least for Umeme that is.

For a beat, Talfrid just stared at her. He did not say anything right away, just watching her silently as if what she had said was settling in his head. He was understanding it, slowly, though it was a simple concept.

She wanted to have cubs.

He was not a male who took ladies for rides just because he could. He did not use his God status to make him more appealing, nor did he know any pick up lines. He also had no intentions of taking a mate, and had it in his head to let fate guide him. He would follow its design, as it was laid out before him.

"That is an interesting custom," he said at length, then he smiled, "but I can understand its necessity. And I am impressed that you are so dutiful. It can't be easy, coming out into strange lands to look for something like that. I feel I was likely brought here, in this case, to aid you. If... that is what you wish?"

The whole situation was becoming increasingly agonizing for the poor girl, she'd known it would be beyond embarrassing, but she also knew she had to do it. Though her acceptance of fate did little to aid her thumping heart and heated cheeks.

At his words, Umeme's ears perked as she listened to his every word, completely unsure of where he was going with it. "Yes it is rather odd isn't it? But it is my home, I respect them greatly, I can not back down on such a duty." More shuffling in the dirt, by this point she had a small but well defined hole formed at her feet.

His next words allowed her heart to stop thumping so rapidly, though she still held on to her humility. She was too innocent for this type of stuff, it was driving her crazy. Though, she was quite honored by Talfrid's comment. "N-No, it isn't easy at all ... we coming out here was easy but the other part .. its been sort of hard to admit to." She tried to laugh her way out of the situation. nut nearly choked on her own laughs at his final offer.

"You would do that for me? Someone you hardly know, and a ... mortal at that?" For a moment, she was wary of his offer, and her actions told as much, but she softened as she noted his expression.

Alright, if he was entirely serious about his offer, perhaps there was something in it for him.. "There has to be a catch ... there just has to be!" She more meant to mumble them to herself, and was slightly nervous when she realized she'd spoken them aloud.

"Sorry, I guess my nerves are getting the better of me. I don't mean to offend .. your offer just seems very generous.."

Talfrid smiled and watched her, shaking his head slowly.

"There is no catch. I am the God of Chivalry, and I do as fate dictates me to do. Even Gods are led, and I was led here, to you. You are seeking a service I can provide. I ask that you take care of them, if I do succeed in fulfilling your wishes, and that they grow up good. In my honor, as my realm is more than a title. Chivalry should be something bestowed to children."

He smiled and nodded his head slowly, knowing he would not see his children if he did give her cubs, but then, he was a God. He could find them and check in with them when he saw fit, even if from a great distance. They might not know him, but he felt that it was right. He was not there to make a family, not for himself.

It was his duty to aid her in her efforts, and give her what she sought. Nothing else came to mind, and he would ask nothing of her in return, nor hold her to any bargain.

"I'm not offended, I understand your hesitance. We did just meet, after all."

"That is much too kind an offer. I don't feel I could ever live up to the favor you are providing me with." Umeme paused, a slight twinkle in her eye, she mixed with a strange swell of pride, emotion, and appreciation. "However I will do as you ask. Your children will be well cared for, and will know what a great male you are .." Another short pause, "Regardless of my pride's beliefs."

Looking up from her ashamed stance and into the male's eyes once more, she smiled a true smile and nodded up at the much taller male. "I would love to take you up on your offer, and be honored to carry your cubs." Bowing her head shortly, she took a few steps closer to the god her heart less heavy than it had been all day.
