"You know when I told you I'd give you anything as part of winning the bet .. I thought you might want me to buy something. Not do something." Vaith said, with doubt and worry seeping into his tone. Not the dangerous kind of doubt and worrry, just the self-demeaning kind.It had been a long time since he'd been out, shaken over everything Amytiville had to offer lately.

"I hope you do know .. this song is a five person thing and not a one-male thing, right?"

He looked critically at the song.

Very critically.

It was clear that Xiu was trying very hard not to giggle, her body quivering slightly as she bit down on her bottom lip. It took her a good few seconds before she managed to calm herself down enough to clasp a reassuring hand on Vaith's shoulder, her tone completely serious.

"I have faith in you," She told him, trying to keep her expression smooth, "If there's anyone who can sing a song meant for five people, it's you." Well, actually she had never heard Vaith's singing--not even once--but a little encouragement never hurt! Tail swishing with excitement, she turned her attention back to the song selection screen. Her finger hovered over the play button as her pink eyes flickered back to look at him.

"Ready?" There was a pause, and then Xiu grinned, her expression full of mischief, "Just be glad that I didn't ask you to dance along."

And then she pressed down to start the music.

"You dont have faith in me! You want a good laugh." Vaith said, probably a little more heated than usual. He pulled Xiu's cheek as she tried to reassure him, knowing fully well how amusing this was going to be for her. Her tail was practically wagging, wagging, wagging. Her ears were up too!

Vaith dreaded the moment when the button was pressed.

Nobody else heard Vaith sing either.

Okay, to be fair, Vaith's singing wasn't as musical as Tokiya or Ittoki. It was flatter, like Syo. But he wasn't bad. By the time he was done, he should have been rewarded for his persistence and effort and even his voice .. until the end. This song just meant that he finished the entire thing and laid on the ground like a fish out of water afterwards.

Pop songs weren't his thing. His lower voice was meant for other genres.

By the time Vaith was done, Xiu had curled up into a quivering, giggling ball in her seat.

The reaper had, by no means, done a bad job. On the contrary, the baku was really quite impressed his singing--considering that that song had been written for five people, he had done very well pulling it off alone. Grinning from ear to ear, she slid off of her seat and knelt down beside the boil, poking him in the cheek with a finger.

"Good job, Vaith! You're a pretty good singer!" There was a long pause as she stared at him--or rather, how he was flopped out on the ground--before she grabbed the closest sheet of paper and tried to fan him with it.

"Still alive? Hang in there, okay?" And then she was giggling again. This was by far the best bet that they could have ever made.

Vaith really wasn't going to do well with Xiu's on and off laughter. He groaned, probably in embarrassment, covering his face up with his hands briefly as she complimented him. He did appreciate the cooling down effort, although to let a girl fan him .. His hand reached out to grab her wrist lightly and stop her, caught up in her infectious laughter moments later.

Pulling her down to the ground with him, the mike still in hand, he decided chairs were overrated.

"I'm all good. In fact, I totally think I have enough energy to pick out a song for you to sing too."

It was a difficult effort to hold the book in the air.

"Okay I dont. Serenade me, Xiu!"

Vaith just serenaded a good three minutes and thirty five seconds to Xiu. He expected at least one minute of serenading back. Xiu was getting off cheap.

Laughing, Xiu set aside her makeshift fan to take the book from him, flipping through the pages at lightning speed as she looked for something that she could sing. "Haha, I think you'll regret saying those words, Vaith! I'm not...much of a singer." It wasn't that she was ear-splittingly teribble rather than the fact that she just didn't like singing in front of people.

...Then again, Vaith was probably the same.

"Okay!" She declared suddenly, a determined expression on her face as she snapped the song book closed, "I'll sing a song by the same group then. Fair's fair, right?" What was the song called. Welcome to the...something World? Well, she was sure that she would find it. Pushing herself to her feet, Xiu picked up a mic and went to start the song.

...One had to admit, although--having never heard the song before--she may have been having a little trouble keeping up with lyrics, she did sing with a lot of cheerful enthusiasm. She didn't go so far as to dance, but she did sway back and forth to the beat.

By the time she was done, the baku had flopped face down on the floor right beside Vaith, trying her best to regain her breath.
