User ImageMischief lazily floated in rapidly warming air of late morning. It was one of his usual haunts, a prairie that was bordered by a dark forest. It was sometimes frequented by travelers, since it was easier to walk through a prairie if there was no road. Mischief enjoyed very much to mess with people, especially at night. However, he rarely got the opportunity unless he stalked travelers until night fell.

He could usually catch travelers at this time of morning and turn invisible for a time and lazily float above them. The only thing that he could not turn invisible was his bright, ruby-red eyes. If his pupils were obscured from view, then he could not see others as well. It was just the way light worked.

Suddenly, Mischief sensed potential vic- ahem, subjects to haunt. He immediately became alert, ready to cause trouble with whoever these travelers were. His green scales began to fade from view, along with his foggy aura. It would still be there, but much subtler. His eyes, however, were easily noticed if he wasn't careful.

Sorry if I seem pushy here but I figured it would be an easier reminder.

Ragama was walking along the ground, rare for the dragon who loved flying oh so dearly. But Avatar was feeling a bit queasy and so he and Draylon were walking him along the prairie. The whole way Ragama and Draylon were arguing about breakfast. Ragama was defending himself from Draylon's verbal attacks. "You ate my breakfast. Seriously Ragama? My breakfast? You know humans like me need food in the mornings." Ragama shook his head as if to say no. By now the two had learned how to talk to Ragama, who loved talking to dragons though they couldn't speak to him really. They both understood what he was saying, You SAID you weren't hungry. I don't see the issue here.

Avatar groaned and looked at his bother and beloved dragon. Draylon's dragon-like armor wasn't very shiny, they had been traveling for days after all. Not really with any place to go, just so they could travel. Avatar's armor, on the other hand, was just recently 'fixed' in terms of paint. It was all nice and shiny again, the white paladin armor's purple highlights keeping it from reflecting light too much. But it was still cracked and very much broken. After Draylon yelled again he could feel one of his times coming on. "I can't sit here and listen to you two." He softly said as he walked away from the two. They were giving him a migraine, and when he got migraines he tended to end up having seizures. He moved off a fair distance and laid back on the ground. His brother and his dragon were respectful and sat down on the ground, still arguing and completely oblivious to the world.

((Fine fine fine. Impatient much?))

Mischief spotted his latest victims below, two humans and a dragon. He remained invisible and only slightly dropped in altitude. For being the ghost of a hexadragon, Mischief was comfortable in the air, even after living his whole life tethered to the ground. Perhaps it was the fact that his death had now lasted longer than his life. Perhaps he had always craved flight. But, more likely, it was probably the fact that Mischief really hadn't had much of a fear of anything. After all, he could have taken safety precautions with the catapult that had launched him to lethal heights and distance, but then the catapult would have remained broken and his prank a failure.

If one looked up, they might have a chance of seeing the faint, ghostly fog of Mischief. His eyes were currently facing up towards the sky, and therefore obscured from view. He figured that right now, he could keep track of them without even looking at his new victims.

((Sorry Star. I didn't mean to seem impatient, I just had nothing to do.))
Draylon was completely absorbed into his argument with Ragama, which continued despite Avatar having left the area. They argued softly though, again knowing Avatar needed quiet for a while so he wouldn't seize up. Clearly the human in the dragon armor wasn't very compatible with the dragon, and wasn't likely to be much more than a relative of the other man, which of course he was. At some point Ragama decided to bite at Dralyon, which brovoded the dragoon to jump well over the dragon's head and land behind it. After this they both just sat there silently, waiting on Avatar.

AVatar though was just laying there. His eyes were fixed to the sky and his hands were stuck holding his head. He really didn't want to move, he was pretty sure if he did right now he would increase the risk of his seizures. SO his only prevention tactic was to simply rest another few minutes.

Mischief noticed that one of the humans had separated from the group. Although he preferred to strike at dark, a lone human was a prime target at any point during the day.

He landed softly in the grass nearby, and crept up near the human. He stretched out his neck and opened his red eyes up wide, at an angle where they would be in the peripheral vision of the human. He was good at discerning where the peripherals were.

Of course, he could have done the stereotypical jump-out-of-nowhere-and-make-a-loud-noise, but that was too easy. The key to being a good, mischievous ghost was to subtly build up edginess. A stare here, a reveal there, and then suddenly come out of nowhere with a creepy grin or expression to finish it off. If that wasn't good enough, then he also had stronger recipes...

Avatar saw the red eyes in his peripheral vision, but passed it off as a mere illusion to his seizure. Still it was a little unnerving. "Guys, I'm going out on my own a bit. Think I need to calm down my body a bit, it seems to be giving me illusions." The two others nodded and began to stare down each other as Avatar got up and began walking. He walked away from the others, off, alone, while there were two red eyes following him. No one ever said Avatar was always smart.

((Haha, silly, there are actually six red eyes following your character. :> ))

Mischief grinned.... mischievously. This was just too perfect. The human was now walking even farther from the group. Now there was even more potential for good fun.

Mischief rose into the air from his position on the ground, hovering above the prairie grasses at a little above eye level. He followed behind Avatar for a bit as he walked away from his group, before Mischief rose higher in the air in preparation for his next primer. Green scales faintly faded into view, more transparent than they usually were. He went into a quick dive, once again making sure that his form would be on the edge of the human's vision. He timed it as best as he could, hoping to spend a millisecond or two in the human's vision. Just enough to notice, not enough to discern the form. He went out of the assumed peripherals of Avatar and rapidly rose into the sky, becoming invisible once more in an attempt to avoid detection.

Although it was a small effect, Mischief closed four of his eyes, leaving the middle pair open, as they were the largest and would still allow him to see. He wanted to keep as much of himself invisible as possible while still trying to see if this action was successful. He looked downwards towards Avatar, from a position above and behind him. Only one pair of red eyes was visible, and from this distance, they would probably be small specks.

((I am silly. But Silly is ok.))

Avatar spun around when he saw the thing and immediately regretted it. He stopped and closed his eyes a minute. "Why must this always happen? First one illusion, then another, then I do this and my stomach turns inside out. Oh well, I'll still be fine. Jsut an illusion, right?" He muttered to himself and turned again to walk away. But by this point he twisted part of a gauntlet around, which pushed a couple of points on his knuckles out. Not a weapon per say but the little dents gave him extra security. He continued along slowly, though he couldn't help his eyes moving from left to right every now and then.

Mischief held back a chuckle at the human's reaction. He seemed to be getting on edge now. He decided that it would be a good time for one final primer before he finished the human off. After all, he didn't want to give him a heart-a-stroke, just coax maybe some strong reactions out of him.

Still invisible, Mischief slowly floated downward, and began to get closer and closer to Avatar. His elevation stayed consistent, floating above the prairie grasses, while he slowly caught up to Avatar's pace. This was one of the riskier primers, as he could easily get caught if the victim either knew what a ghost felt like or if the sudden cold caused them to turn around and see his red eyes.

He still had one pair of eyes open as he got close to the backside of Avatar, his aura lowering the temperature noticeably. He tensed his.... whatever it was that allowed him to float. His mind? Mischief didn't worry about the details. He was prepared to rapidly gain altitude if Avatar turned around and looked slightly up.

If Avatar didn't turn around, then Mischief had one more quick thing to do before potentially revealing himself.

Avatar stopped in his tracks. Back where he was from there was a sacred grove, one where the spirits of the long dead dwelt. He had always had an odd feeling around them, a change in temperature for one. And now he felt that, though instead of the grove's warmth he felt... cold. Sure now he was being followed by a less than benign being, long dead, he decided to play its game. He rubbed his fore arms between the metal bracers and the rest of the armor, trying to warm them up. HE shifted his eyes left and right constantly, playing the perfect role of frightened human.
