Kiwi hurried forward to the spot where he had dropped his name into the strange box labeled "Prom Sign-ups". The booth had been deserted the very next day, and each day after. But today, a crisp, fresh piece of paper glared proudly from the grey, splintering wood.
His chest was rattling with a tight feeling he couldn't quite place between anxiety and anticipation. His eyes fell down the list, searching for his name ...
There. Willow and Kiwi.
Kiwi's mind raced back to the day he had spent with Faiyum, and the chatty ghost ghoul who drank a potion and began to float away ...
Willow?? ... His mind went blank. Not that Kiwi disliked Willow, not in the least, she seemed quite friendly, and had brought some excitement to their experiments. Moreso, Kiwi was uncertain how he would approach the ghoul in asking her to Prom. In fact, what was Prom?? ... He only knew what the information on this sheet provided. It would be held at Amityville, would be masquerade-themed, and would require formal attire. Along with the accompaniment of Willow. Kiwi vaguely recalled mention of something along the lines of "masquerade" on his occasional past visits to the human world. It had something to do with masks, and dressing up ...
The horseman glanced down to his humble waistcloth and multitude of bangles. He would require a fine Conquest artisan for this. But after he could manage to locate Willow. She would likely be somewhere on the Amityville grounds.
He hurried towards the school. Students were filing in and out of dorms, some pausing to chat, while others rushed by on their way to class. It wasn't long until Kiwi spotted Willow, nestled under the shade of a tree outside the ghost dorms.
Kiwi paused. He wasn't entirely certain how to approach her ... In fact, he had never thought of asking one of his Famine brethren on a date. Much less a Halloweener. Plus, he had wronged her in a sense. He hadn't known that vial would send her floating towards the orange pumpkin sky, an alchemist's potions were always fickle things. But he had encouraged her, and allowed it. He wasn't so certain she would accept his offer.
But he had to try. Kiwi drew in a deep breath, and slipped forward, hurrying as quietly and carefully as he dared across the open yard to where she was. He cleared his throat as he arrived, bangles tinkling softly as his shadow fell across the ground where the ghoul sat.
"U-um, hello Willow."

The shade was quite lovely this time of day and Willow didn't have any plans. While she knew she should go check the board for the prom info she didn't really want to move from her napping spot.
There was a faint tinkling sound of metal first. The Byakko's ears twitched as she listened. Soon, a voice followed. It took another moment or two before Willow would open an eye lazily to look at the horsemen that had approached her. Ahh she remembered him, he was working with Faiyum.
The tigress smiled, "Afternoon Kiwi." She replied, "Lovely weather." The tigress was blissfully unaware of what brought Kiwi to speak to her. Though she seemed rather relaxed, and no hint of a grudge.

For a moment Kiwi only blinked. She didn't seem phased by his appearance in the least. The horseman drew in a deep breath, relaxing his tense shoulders. "It is a lovely day. In fact, there's something I was wondering ..." He paused a moment, evening his breath before continuing. "There's been this talk of a gathering, called 'Prom'. ... Would you mind going to this 'Prom' with me??"

Willow nodded contently as Kiwi answered. There was a pause when Kiwi mentioned prom. Ah, perhaps this was her blind date; this realization made the tigress unlazy herself and stand up so she could speak properly with the horseman. Brushing her skirt off a bit, there a was smile. "Ah. I take it you signed up with the blind date thing?"
Her tail flickered as she nodded, "I would love to go with you." It didn't take her long to answer this either. Giving a small stretch as she stood there with a smile. It would be a chance to get to know some of the horsemen better as well if they were going to be there. She'd been interested in the clans ever since the field trip and she wasn't about to turn down an offer.

"I did." Kiwi answered, flexing his wings a bit as his anxiety began to ease. At her answer, his cheeks nearly flushed with awe. He had assumed she might be a bit terse over their last encounter, and he never been very good with the ghouls of Famine. Too lowly a common soldier, and too focused on his training. He accepted her approval with a warm smile. "Good then, that's settled."
But he still wondered what exactly this 'Prom' was. Did it involve food?? ... Were there chimes and woodwinds, and did the Halloweeners dance like the clansmen
would deep in the caverns of Famine?? ... "Willow, do you mind explaining to me ... what is Prom exactly?? ..."

Willow found herself chuckling what was prom. "Ahhh..." There was a pause as she thought for a second how to explain prom, "Well, for what I know of prom. It's a fancy dance, I assume since there's suppose to be formal attire that it's ballroom dancing."
There was a pause as she thought, "Also, I believe there's food and well I know there's music because of the dancing." Her tail flickered as she pondered, "I think there's also a prom court. Kind of like king and queen for the night."
She'd seen the nomination sheets for that last year. "I mean... other than that I'm not sure what to tell you about it." Her tail twitched, "Is there anything certain you want to know about it?"

Prom sounded surprisingly similar to Famine life. Victories were always celebrated with plenty of food, dancing, and of course, music. Not to mention there would be a King and Queen?? ... He knew nothing of Kings himself, but he wondered if this Queen would be anything like Famine's?? The spirits rest her soul.
Kiwi smiled softly, and shook his head. "No, that answers my question perfectly. I'm sure it will be wonderful. ... I'll pick you up when the celebration starts then??" He already had quite a bit of planning to do. He needed to find a proper outfit, at least something more suitable than his humble waistcloth. He pondered asking the Conquest clansmen about it. After all, their clothes were always lavish.
LP Finally replying XD I was thinking maybe it'd be okay to wrap this thread up now?? ...
