Summer was upon the city as the end of spring and her birthday began to draw nearer. The corrupted senshi smiled strangely as she overlooked the city from the top of closed grocery store. This would be her first birthday away from her family and both a sense of homesickness and freedom fell upon her. She would miss the feast of delicious native Greek food that her grandfather would make for her but not having to be near her sisters brought great pleasure to her. An inner conflict swelled within her and soon she began to pace back and forth, leaving a trail of silver hair catching the light behind her.
Maybe her mother had mailed her something delicious in the mail? Well, that was a horrible idea so she probably had. It would have been more reasonable for her to mail her some pants but that seemed unlikely at this stage. Mentally, her conflicting thoughts dispelled momentarily and left in its place was a sense of anger at the thoughts of what her wardrobe had been changed to. Hands gripped the side of her skirt, the pleats falling between her fingers as they became the target of her anger. This. This was the problem. Why did she have to be wearing this?
Well, this was enough of that! Day to day was one thing but at night too? She'd had enough. The senshi began to tug and pull at her outfit rather aggressively until she'd manage to pull one arm out of the bodice and out of the cage that was otherwise the sailor cape. It was tiring, strangely so, like pulling at herself. She'd catch her breath but for now the young girl stood there on the roof with one arm out of her senshi bodice, half attempting to try and remove the skirt as well.

Summer was indeed upon the city but tonight was not hot, a nice coolness had fallen upon the city. This coolness was much appreciated by the blond, as he really hated the summer for the simple reason of it being too hot, as he made his way from roof top to roof top. His cape floating about him as he jumped and leapt from roof top to roof top. If it were hot tonight like it was in the day time he'd be roasting, his uniform really was a bit...heavy. With a shirt a coat and a cape he would surely overheat with ease should the summer of the day follow into the evening, as he knew it would soon enough. The coolness of the summer evenings would soon cease, or at least become few and far between. That would limit the nights he was out and for how long.
Tonight though there was no such heat to hinder him. Cool air moved through free blond hair and as he picked up on a familiar feeling he shifted as he stopped and stood on a roof top. The concrete under his boots tapped upon as he weighed his options. He could continue with his currant plan, which was to simply make rounds of the general area, or he could go and investigate and see if this was a corrupted senshi he knew - though there was only one he knew.
The idea of this being some senshi, corrupted, that he didn't know brought him around to heading in that direction. Picking up his pace, in case he startled them into leaving or they headed off on their own, he stopped when he caught sight of all that hair. "How can your neck not hurt?" Ok, not such a good opening but that was really the first thing which came to mind, it did look painful to him. Standing on the roofs ledge with slate eyes on the girl he brushed his own hair from his face and tilted his head ever so slightly as he watched them.

It really didn't matter what anyone's first words with Nickeline were because there was a good chance she didn't care or she simply heard it wrong. What is said may not matter but how you meet her was very important and there was a very good chance that meeting her while she's not only pissed off but trying to get undressed was going to lead to an unpleasant experience. Seriously dude, she was trying was trying to get undressed here! How rude were Americans?
She let out a very unpleasant holler, jumping back with what appeared to be a large hint of rage and a small hint of alarm. Her arm slid back into her fuku immediately and then the now free arm grabbed her hair and flung it around her neck. Silver locks off the ground, Nickeline burst into a run and made her way toward the peeping tom. She could sense him, his power. He was stronger than her but it didn't seem to matter at this point.
Her fist was up and when she got to him she was ready to hit him hard but her heels slid to a stop and her arm lingered in the air in front of him. He wasn't her enemy, and he was from the Negaverse. She could sense it now, she could see it now. Her face twisted unhappily, and her arm began to lower in what could only be... defeat. She would not, could not accept that, not from a peeping tom! It didn't matter and without another sign she immediately threw her fist at him.
"Pervert!" She growled unpleasantly, almost disgusted she even knew the English word for it.

If anything he was not expecting her reaction to seeing, or rather hearing, him. He could understand her hollering and even the rage her face had displayed but really to hit him? He even understood calling him a pervert, how could she know he had no interest in the female form and would prefer her to keep her uniform on.
Slowly turning his face back to her, rubbing his aching cheek gently, slate eyes scanned her over. His lip swelled with a pearl of red, he'd bitten his lip when her fist had connected with his face. He had really not expected that at all, and why should he have?
Thumb brushing his bottom lip, the red substance smearing the pad of the digit, Benitoite's attention had not yet left the female corrupted senshi. "I assume I deserved that, though for what I can't say I know." He hadn't been staring or making any sort of perverted comment, simply asked a question and an honest one at that. "But how can your neck not hurt, with all that hair?" The question which had apparently gotten him in some sort of trouble. But he still wanted to know, it looked painful to him. That hair must weigh an awful lot and lead to a sore neck, how could it not?

This soldier was very wordy and it really did him no justice when Nickeline practically only heard partials of it. Key words clicking while she contently ignored the rest. She was kind of surprised at first when he simply brushed his thumb over his lip, but then she settled into it. Certainly this man knew his position in accordance to her and it had nothing to do with Negaverse ranking. There he may remain above her but in the scale of the world she always would be above him and that would always be above the Negaverse. In a word such as that, everyone should speak the language Nickeline knew best.
"Huh?" She simply replied. Something something hair, something something... hurt? Pain? Something something neck? She brushed her hair through her bangs and gave him a strange look as she began to toy with the balls that rested around her neck. A couple moments and then held several of the balls up to him as if to reaffirm what she thought he meant.
It was heavier than normal thanks to the strange magic she associated with this senshi form but on any normal day she rarely noticed it. She often held it as a senshi, or simply wore it around her neck like a scarf which definitely kept the weight off her neck since it wasn't blatantly hanging down. Her hair was always securely tied, held up at the top of her head with several buns so that most of the weight sat on her head and the weight distribution was more even.
She didn't know how to explain this to him though so she gestured to the hair hanging around her neck. She turned around, her hands pointing to the fact that there was nearly no weight on her neck.
"None," she simply said. Either there was no pain or simply no weight.

When he heard her and put that together with her not responding to anything he said he had wondered if she was just slow but knew that couldn't be the case, no one would bring someone into the war who was truly slow. The cats for the light side were pretty bad with bringing kids into the war but he doubted they'd bring someone slow in, that would or at least should be a danger even they wouldn't take. Though he figured he could be wrong. This senshi though was on his side, that of chaos, and he knew no one would bring a senshi who was slow into the war. So then...she didn't understand him. Language?
Watching as she motioned and told him without words what he wanted to know he understood. Yes, language was the issue. Nodding his head he smiled. "Good." He'd thought it would have had to hurt her neck but her word eased that worry.
Pointing to himself he spoke then. "Benitoite." And pointing to her then. "You?" This would be slow and going, he'd never dealt with someone who didn't speak English as a first, or at least second, language. How would he go about this? He'd never played charades, it hadn't been something he'd ever seen amusement or entertainment in. And now he wished he had skills enough to talk with her while not needing words.

Nickeline absolutely hated this and it was clearly displayed on her face. The way everyone looked at her pissed her off and the way she had to work around everything to make it easier on them made her want to punch them. She was the one away from her home, she was the one in a place where no one understood her but she was the one making all the sacrifices. Why couldn't someone go learn some Greek and stumble around so she could understand them.
Watching him attempt to talk to her like she was a child only amused her for a moment before she just sighed, brushing the bangs from the black corrupted scarring on her forehead.
"Nickeline," she stated flatly.
Couldn't he go back to being a pervert so she could punch him? She enjoyed that.

It wasn't his fault he couldn't go learn Greek, he was clueless as to what she spoke natively. Not even if he knew he could do much, it wasn't taught in school, maybe in college or in some rich high class high school. It certainly wasn't taught in the public school he attended. Clueless as he was he did nod to her name and to the marking she showed him.
"Pleasure." A smile settling upon his lips while he wondered if she'd understand him at all, if it would be a waste of time trying to talk and find out about her. Deciding he should at least try, you never knew until you tried really.
"Where are you from?" If he knew that he could at least try and maybe find out from the internet, you could really learn anything online if you knew where to look or bothered to look enough, he could find some basic everyday phrases to help with this pesky language barrier.

It probably didn't benefit him that her idea of what pleasure meant was not something she wanted to hear from a man, especially not one she'd initially attacked for being a pervert. She stepped back from him, the loud click of her heels hitting the concrete cracking between the two of them like bad chemistry. Her eyes looked at him with disbelief, her body language guarded and suspicious of him once again.
What she'd expected from him next wasn't what she got and she simply looked on at him with both anger and confusion. It shifted, and slowly her mouth simply formed an unpleasant o shape. His question was a question she got a lot and hearing it caused her to lower her guard from 'I'm going to rip your d**k off,' to 'I'm going to punch you.' The latter of the two was a very common, an almost normal position for Nickeline. For now this man would be safe from another unexpected attack from some foreign senshi.
"Thessaloniki," she said with almost a devious smile. Normally she'd say Greece but this time she was more specific. People knew about Greece but Thessaloniki? Yes, now it is your chance to not understand the answer given to you.

Ok...not an answer he expected and not one he knew how to respond to. How the hell could he respond to that? He didn't even think he could manage to repeat the word, at least not without sounding like a stuttering, stumbling, idiot and he wasn't in the habit of sounding like such. For a moment he stood and stared at her, playing the word over mentally. Nope, he knew he could say it and had no chance of spelling it. Had he been able to spell it, or been able to say it and ask someone to spell it for him or look it up, he'd have been ok with that since he could look it up on his computer when he got home tonight. But he couldn't do either, this was not looking up for him really.
"Ok...and that is where?" Giving her a look he hoped spoke of just how lost he really was with her last answer. If he could find out he could try and learn a few words, along with the French lessons he'd be taking.

Nickeline seemed pleased with his expression and although she'd like to continue on by replying something like 'on ocean' she decided that if he was actually willing to look up some of her native language then maybe she should not mess with him anymore until she's given him the right answer. It was a difficult decision, mostly because it felt so nice to actually be on the other side of the confusion for a change. Perhaps that was enough, perhaps only for now.
"Greece," she settled.

He felt like sighing, a deep and heavy sight, of relief as she gave him an answer he understood and could go on. She was Greek. She was also a long way from home, what had brought her here? But also had she been a senshi, corrupted or not, back in Greece? He'd have asked if he knew she'd understand, and could respond in a way he'd understand, but since he doubted either were possible he refrained from asking.
"Want company tonight? In case anything happens." Would she even be able to call for help, or rather get the message out that she needed help, if something happened? He'd really need to work on learning needed phrases of her native tongue, and maybe help her with some English, if someone else wasn't already helping her. Maybe he could bring her into the training he had planned with a few dark mirror senshi.

Nickeline hadn't ever been a white moon senshi. She was in Greece at the time when a covert Negaverse team found her out there and decided to have her join their ranks. Obviously things didn't go as planned and without any real need for a corrupt senshi in Greece or even Europe, they shipped her over here. It was definitely better than the alternative, probably, maybe. Either way, Nickeline was more than happy to gain the power she did. It sure would be a mouthful to tell him all this though.
His question left her looking at him strangely again, her body suspicious of him. Were all the boys in Destiny City like this? Simply gave him a look that said don't get any funny ideas.
"No," she growled, her expression twisting unpleasantly. Seriously, stupid perverts!

Had he said something wrong? Was it just an issue of her not understanding him or everything he said? Tilting his head in wonder he kept his eyes on her, wondering just why she seemed upset, or angry.
"Did I say something wrong?" He asked, hoping she understood what he'd just asked. Somehow he had the feeling he'd never win with this senshi, at least not so long as language was a barrier like it was now. He really would need to work on it. Maybe, until he learned to say things, he could write them down and let her read whatever he had to say? Lame as it was if it worked and got communication going he was willing to try, even if it would be slow...and very lame.
Assuming, and rightly?, that she didn't want his company he bowed once to her. "Have a good evening then." And he was moving again, putting distance between them as he set off to patrol for the evening before returning home to sleep.

Did he say something wrong? Well, that question was never asked as far as Nickeline was concerned. Was he wrong? Yes, he most definitely was. She nodded her head to him, giving him a simple wave goodbye as he left, the smile on her face growing the further the distance between them grew. She felt safer the further he got and that meant the night was just beginning. She would leave too, off to do whatever it was she had been doing prior to giving him a peepshow. Whatever the situation was, he would definitely need to learn a few phrases in Greek, or find another way to communicate before she really mistook something he said or did too far.
