Currently, I've found that through good affiliation alone, a witch doctor tank, can be very, very successful. given ample bump time, and a lot of care, it can prove to be a very profitable tank.
At 170k for the tank itself to start (just a little above one days maximum earnings) this very simple tank, can have a very decent impact on players.
I wanted to put together a thread of such tanks, filled with 10 - 17 witch doctors, with fill ins from low trigger fish, to high end item droppers, to solidify this mini-monster's unseen claim to fame, as a high trigger fish, with a decent gold curve. 10k for it, with 5 plays a day = done in 10? boya. 8D
Anyway, I've done lots of math, put together a thread explaining ye- math. even have a bit of jabber in my journal. I have some spreadsheets written up, and I'll be compiling a bit of data, between a few experiments, with various levels of owner guidance.

I do math on these things too... it's strangely addictive! eek Any way, the problem I see with the doctors are that people don't like them much... so if the person owning a tank like that isn't online much odds are they're not getting many or any grabs while being offline. Same goes for the lesser monsters like lightningbug, lacebacks and walkers but they have green gold so people like them slightly more for it and you can find them listed for 8-9k. Cheaper, same lifespan, slightly more people playing. I would choose any of those over the doctors for those reasons but thats me. wink

Though I state the witch doctor, only because if a thread, filled with witch doctor tanks pops up, and they become popular, then their price is still set. They won't fluctuate with the market. Certainly they make for a good choice though. I've noticed, that so long as they have appropriate affiliation, even with little bumping they can receive quiet a bit of play. atm, I'm currently keeping them there, only to keep my tank from looking bare. =w= I have been unable to remain on gaia for all too long, and having an empty tank can be a bit, discouraging.

Did you ever figure out all the data for your experiment? I was very interested to see what you have come up with ^_^ Please if you have done so please post your findings I think your idea is brilliant.
