It was mid-afternoon in town on a warm, partly cloudy day and people were wandering in and out of shops, businesses and establishments. They seemed on a one track schedule, only concerned for where they wanted to go. No one seemed to notice that there was a certain Vulpix boy handing out fliers on the corner.
"Have you seen this Ninetales?" Alabaster asked as he held out his home made fliers. He had drawn his missing sister, Sarah the Ninetales, to the best of his ability according to his memory. She was taller than most Ninetales her age, one of her tails was yellow-orange instead just yellow, and her left eye had a scratch-like scar upon it. Underneath his drawing, he included his name, her name, where he had last seen her and where she he thought she might be. But all his efforts seemed to be proving fruitless, no one even bothered to pay attention to his words. A few people had taken the flier, but most were children who had no idea what the paper was for and dropped it like worthless trash as they continued along on the sidewalk. He picked up each discarded paper as they were dropped with a heavy sigh. How discouraging...
At this time, Alabaster had just about become fed up. No one cared for him or his missing sister, it seemed, and it was a very sour truth. The boy now sat against the wall of his chosen spot eating a plate of chicken fingers and waffle fries he had purchased from the restaurant inside the adjacent building. Although he was hungry, he couldn't seem to eat very much. His thoughts remained pinned on the fact that no one seemed to care for his cause at all. It was mind boggling to him as he stared solemnly at the road in front of him. Was everyone around him really that cold?

At that point an older Audino moved up to the boy and made a soft noise to him. She could see he was upset and nuzzled at him gently before noticing the fliers and picked one up, looking at it intently. She seemed a little older for an Audino and seemed comfortable sitting by him and not begging for food, seemingly thinking hard if she'd seen Sarah. After a minute, she tugged his arm lightly.
"Lost?" she asked in pokemon language.

Alabaster looked up from his staring at the concrete when he was suddenly nuzzled. When he saw the kindly Audino next to him, staring at one of his fliers, he smiled to himself. Somebody had finally come to help him! That made him feel a bit better about his efforts.
When the Audino questioned him about his sister, Alabaster's smile faded and his expression changed back to that of a solemn, anxious look. "Yeah... She's been missing for a few months..." Alabaster replied. "I was still a Pokemon when it happened. There was a terrible storm in the forests and I came home to our tree to find that she had been harmed by an unknown attacker. She told me to run away and hide, which was hard to do. But then when I came back a few weeks later, she wasn't there!" He heaved a heavy sigh and hugged his knees to his chest. "I really do think she's okay though, which is why I'm looking for her..."

The Audino pet him gently, "I'm sure she just ran away as well for safety. She might be looking for you too." she assured him.
She seemed to be considering for a time before petting his head with one of her paws. "Have you checked the Pokemon Shelter? She might have come into one of them for care. They're like pokemon centers for wild pokemon. She could have gotten help after attacked." The Audino obviously seemed to be older and knowledgeable about how to hand such things.

"Oh, I wouldn't doubt that." Alabaster replied. "I know she loves me. She's probably looking for me deep in the forests, which makes me worry more. There are so many dangers out there..."
He tilited his head a little when the Audino spoke of the Pokemon Shelter. He had no idea that those things exisited and a glimmer of hope returned to his eyes. "You could be right! She might've gone there!" He agreed, nodding. "Even if she didn't know where they were, she might've been able to find one. That's a relief, to know she could be safe in a Pokemon Shelter..." Then he paused and looked to the Audino with a questioning look. "But... I don't know where to find one of those. Would you know?"

She nodded emphatically then and pointed at her chest. "Yes. I work wit hthe pupils running them. There are several nurse students I have helped at each shelter. I'm sure at least one might be where your sister can find."
She took his hand gently and led him towards the main city's edge where the shelter was set up. This one was not one of the 'main five' so it was run by a charming greenhaired boy with glasses named Aiyan. He looked as they came in and smiled warmly.
"Can I help you today?"

Alabaster looked about the shelter and pondered why he had never heard of such a place before. He wished he had known of them sooner because he knew of other Pokemon, ones he had grown up with, that could have used the help if they had only known that it existed. He heaved a little sigh as his mind dwelled upon the subject, but his train of thought was broken by Aiyan's voice.
"Um, yes sir." He replied, forcing a soft smile up at Aiyan. "I'm looking for my sister, Sarah. She looks like this..." He held out one of his fliers out to Aiyan. "She went missing after being attacked on a really stormy night. I haven't seen her in months..."

Aiyan studied the picture closely, "A ninetails you say? What's her name, or did she not have one?" he seemed to be struggling to make out the writing on the paper.
"It'll be ok. We'll look hard." Joy assured the boy, patting his arm and wiggling her tailtuft.

Alabaster shifted nervously from foot to foot as Aiyan spoke. He wasn't really good at meeting new people without someone else that he knew being there to help him. Red orbs sheepishly gazed up from the floor, where the had been glued for a short minute, and looked to Aiyan.
"Her name is Sarah," He replied. "...and, if this could help narrow the search, she really likes apples."
