As rain fell in drips and drops to the ground, darkening everything it touched, Benitoite had taken to the cool, wet, city night and gone out to just pass around the area and see if anything was amiss. It wasn't that he was looking to cause any sort of trouble, or drain energy, these things were big no-no's now and so this was a simple trip out and about the area to check on things.
Having walked several blocks from home before powering up the blond had taken to the roof tops where he was less likely to be seen by civilians and he could move more freely, he didn't want to run into civilians especially those who would think him the terrorist and attempt to attack him or some such nonsense. Shaking his head he swiped wet, dripping, hair from his face before launching himself into the air as he jumped off a roof top. Heeled boots landed on the next roof top with a had smack and click.
Pausing to glance around he took a moment to savor the cool night air and look up at the sky. It was a nice night, the heat from the day having diminished greatly, the night was cool but not too cool like it was in winter but it wasn't as warm as the summer could be. This was a nice compromise between his hated summer heat and loved winter cold.

Remarque had never been one to appreciate the rain. It wasn’t that he couldn’t enjoy it from inside, even if it left him drowsy and unmotivated, but when he was outside? When he had things to do? Yeah, no thanks.
Fortunately the humidity wasn’t enough to make his hair frizz up, though he could have done without the extra pounds his sopping wet clothes brought him. He found himself constantly peeling his wet hair from his face until he got frustrated with it and tied it up; it was hard to gather energy when you couldn’t even see who you were trying to drain.
Tonight, he considered himself to have been fairly successful, though of late it seemed like there was an abundance of people to gather energy from. He had noticed, though found nothing suspicious in such a thing; in fact, he rather enjoyed it.
With so many people to gather energy from, he’d been gathering energy in half the time it usually took him.
If only his motivation was as abundant as the energy.
Trudging through the rain just about matched his mood—until he felt a familiar energy and perked up a bit. He hadn’t run into someone from the Negaverse in so long that he’d assumed they’d all been wiped out or something. It felt close, though when he couldn’t see anything, he decided he needed to find a better vantage point.
Lips pursed, Remarque eyed the mirror just a few yards away and went for it; there was a mirror set up atop an empty building a block or two away, and that seemed like a good place to start. Mirror walking—just one more reason Dark Moon Senshi had it better than the others.
He stepped out onto the rooftop, cast a quick glance at the sky and wondered what the chance of getting struck by lightning was, and then scanned the area until he spotted a familiar enough face.
Bingo.
There wasn’t a Negaverser Remarque would have rather run into, and seeing Benitoite just a jump away?
Maybe tonight wasn’t so bad.
He cracked his knuckles, rolled his shoulders, and then got a good running start before he leapt from the rooftop.
His landing wasn’t as graceful as Benitoite’s; Remarque didn’t really practice landing etiquette since he preferred to stay on the ground anyway.
The water gave him a slippery landing, however he handled it gracefully and used the water to glide across the roof. He lost momentum after a few seconds and came to a halt just a few feet in front of Benitoite, grin on his face. “Benitoite. You’re looking very fashionable, nice coat. Who’s doing your hair now?”

His own senses picked up on a familiar feel, a dark mirror senshi, was it one he knew though? He hadn't seen any of them in a while, he hadn't seen anyone in a while to be honest. it seemed things were getting a bit...lonely. Maybe it was just him though, he hoped not in a way - that would mean he was being ignored.
Ok, so whoever this was had a mirror here, on a building roof? Since they were now closer and speaking to him. "You should really work on your landing, you could get hurt otherwise." Tilting his head, slate eyes cast upward toward the others bluer eyes. "It wouldn't be good if you were to find yourself hurt due to a poor landing." For himself it would be something embarrassing and never spoken of. He did pride himself, perhaps a bit too much, on grace but he went to social events and had to watch his every move.
"Indeed, I find I like this new look I've gained." Glancing the other over he paused on the wings. "Butt wings...an eternal. Congratulations are in order Remarque." This spoken when he glanced back up at the taller males eyes. A small half smile half smirk crossed his features. "My hair." Running his fingers through the blond locks, getting the wet hair out of his face. "No one, or perhaps whoever decided on our uniforms. If I had it my way it would be tied back." It could get in the way, easily, when down as it was now.
"It has been a while, Remarque, since we saw each other." Though they had only met once, but it had been a while ago none the less. "I haven't seen anyone in a while to be quite honest. It's rather...annoying."

Remarque scoffed when his landing was criticized and waved his hand nonchalantly. Sliding on the roof had been a spot of fun amidst all this gloom, though perhaps if he had been looking to make a more sophisticated entrance, he might have to take Benitoite’s advice.
Criticism mixed with congratulations, however, meant Remarque could ignore the urge to make a snippy rebuke. Besides—he was happy to see Benitoite. “You’ve noticed that, too?” he prompted, thinking it might have just been his own bad timing that had left him feeling like Destiny City was strangely empty. “I thought it was just me choosing odd hours of the night. Not that I didn’t mind the competition, but I’ve been feeling like there was some big event someone forgot to give me the invite to. –At least it looks like you’ve kept busy. Power suits you.”
At the very least, it made up for his size, but Remarque wasn’t about to make such a quip in front of a man who had spared his time to educate him when he’d been painfully ignorant to this war. The majority of the Negaverse that he'd met had been of a far different breed than Benitoite, and considering how often he'd been attacked by Negaverse agents, this was a wanted change of pace.

Gracing the other with a smile the blond shook his head slowly. "No, things are indeed slow and dead. Our orders, as they were, have changed. Our...tactics have changed. We have been ordered not to engage senshi in battle, among other changes in policy." He spoke, his voice had dropped to a whisper as if someone could come across them and over hear.
"We are not out as we once were because of this. I'm not surprised it's been noticed. I am surprised the senshi and knights haven't gone searching for us to question on this occurrence." It was quite the surprise, he had not run in to a senshi yet let alone been questioned by one. He'd have expected such really, if the senshi changed this drastically he knew he would.
"I'm rather surprised you haven't heard...but if you haven't then I assume others haven't." Would he, being an Eternal, know more than any other aside from Leto what was going on? "Your side was represented at the meeting we had a few months back." Perhaps he was a rare breed but he didn't know this, as far as he was concerned their sides were allies and thus should behave as such and so helping a new member and sharing information was a good way to strengthen bonds of alliance. "We are to be divided into three factions, each with certain specific tasks. But this dividing has yet to take place aside from the picking of the leaders of these factions." It was a note of sadness which ended his words. This bothered him, this dividing but also that things were not settled in to place fully. It left something of a foul taste in his mouth and a unsureness within him, things were not stable and settled down.
In a bid to push these things away from his mind, to push the feelings back into some mental container, he latched onto the last comment the other had made. "You think? I'm still rather surprised by it. It's not even been a year since I joined. But you did it father than I did, as our ranks are equal really. That must mean something of your skill, you've done well in the time between our first meeting and now." That was good, it was nice to see someone do well for themself.
"Tell me, how is your side doing? I haven't been in touch with Leto as of late and with the lack of night life I can't help but wonder."

Though Remarque listened thoughtfully, the more information he heard, the less he was pleased. The Negaverse, divided? They were more scarce than ever. How the hell were they supposed to stop the Senshi from screwing things up if they couldn’t even engage them in battle? It didn’t make a damn bit of sense—but that wasn’t even what left him most disgruntled.
Benitoite was talking about the Dark Mirror Senshi.
Represented at a meeting he had known nothing about. From leaders he hadn’t seen in months.
“I can’t say that I’ve seen her,” Remarque replied, chewing on the inside of his cheek. “Nor Requiem, nor Ares. Nor anyone, recently. Lesath. Virtus. Mimistrobell. I’ve seen those three. Beyond that,” he shrugged, though the action seemed a bit strained. “…Kinda been in the dark.”
He made a mental note that perhaps he shouldn’t be blabbing about the Dark Mirror Senshi or how little he’d made contact with any of them, but if Benitoite was going to be so earnest, Remarque could at least return the favor.
“I guess they didn’t think we needed to know information like that,” he said, though there was no denying the bitterness in his voice.
Who the hell was he fighting for, anyway? What was the point of being loyal to anyone if you had no idea what they were doing? For all the hype he used against the White Moon Leader, suddenly Remarque wondered if Ares was any different.
Probably not the best time for Remarque to be suddenly doubting the court her served, so he shoved the thoughts away and raised his eyes from the rooftop to meet Benitoite’s again. “But I’ll get back to you on that, I’ll ask Leto how we’re doing the next time I see her.”
Provided that ever happened.

Watching the play of emotions on the others face he waited and listened, as his words sunk in and the other responded to them. It was distressing that he had not seen many members from his own faction. This really was displeasing to hear. He didn't like it one bit, it bothered him in more ways than he wished to give voice to.
"How it Virtus doing? I met him once, didn't even remember how to gather energy. I told him he should seek Leto out for help, as I couldn't show him myself. I worried for him." He'd jumped at hearing the name of the blond, so innocent and kind. He had worried about the blond and hoped he would learn what he needed to, it wouldn't due to see someone confront Virtus and him get hurt.
Motioning to the ground he sat himself down, uncaring of his uniform and getting it dirty. "Sit, seeing as we've nothing to do this evening we should talk. It seems information much be shared between allies this night. It would be best if we both shed what little light we can on the status of things." He spoke, as calmly as he could, though his nerves were coiling in his stomach as he began to feel ill. All this lack of information and in the dark stuff was bothering him now more than it had since that meeting.
It wasn't that he didn't trust his leaders but rather he disliked being in the dark. He wasn't the sort of person to leave others in the dark, he was blunt and honest and told things to those who needed to know - whether they liked it or not. The fact not everything was explained or settled was the darkness he disliked.
Biting his lip he cast his slate gaze skyward as he took in the few stars you could see up here, the city lights really kept a person from seeing all the stars in the sky - a pity really.
"I'll tell you everything I remember from the meeting...just be silent when I do, I don't wish to loose any thoughts or relay something wrong to you." And he did begin speaking of what had been said, and by who. It took time, how long he didn't know, but when he'd finished he lowered his now stiff neck and look at his fellow blond.
'That is all I remember from the night." And his memories had been pretty damn good. Where he didn't remember exact words he recounted the gist of what was said, because he did at least remember that.
((See the meeting in the rift for the info he relayed.))

Remarque had obeyed with little question and taken a seat atop the roof; he listened quietly, absorbing all that he could from the male before him. It bothered him, that this had happened so long ago and he was only just now hearing about it. It certainly explained his questions about where the hell the Negaverse was going, though given that they were apparently on the same side, he wasn’t sure what sort of allies they were supposed to be.
But it wasn’t the Negaverse that was keeping him in the dark; he didn’t feel like they had any obligation to him. But Ares and Leto? Requiem? He wished he’d spent more time with the leaders of the group. Requiem might only be Super, and not quite of the same status that Ares or Leto were, though she had still been the one to give him his first lessons as a Dark Mirror Senshi—the one to teach him to gather energy and further educate him on mirror walking. He had not seen the girl in ages, though had received no word that any casualty had struck her.
He knew he’d been a bit distant from the group—not for lack of trying (not that he really did, though)—but it seemed like he was running into everyone but Dark Mirror Senshi.
He’d have to change his game plan so he could figure out what was going on within his Court; the Negaverse had clearly undergone a huge change, and he stroked his chin as he pondered what that meant for the Dark Mirror Court—if anything.
With Benitoite’s educational bout coming to an end, he offered a thoughtful nod and lowered his hand, propping his elbow up on his knees so he was a bit more comfortable. “I see.”
Remarque had not had enough interaction within the Negaverse to know what the hell the higher-ups were doing, though since to his knowledge none of them were batshit, they must have had some master plan brewing. “Seems kinda…limiting. Being sorted into groups.” He shrugged again. “But, I guess if it gets the job done, who cares. So which branch are you fitting into most?”

"As you said, I think it limiting but if it works. The problem comes in when it comes to the groups...or rather sorting. I have seen nor heard nothing of this happening yet." Which left them...stagnant. Shifting his position, so one left was bent at the knee and his boot flat on the root ope, he drew his leg in close to his chest as if shielding himself.
"I can try and contact Leto, I have met with her as a civilian more than once, the last time being around Christmas. I will see if I cannot meet with her soon and see if she knows of the changes within the negaverse. Perhaps..." Here he seemed to pause and think for a moment.
"Yes, perhaps you and I should meet as well, as civilians. If it can be aranged Leto can join in as well. I believe we can benifit, yourself and myself as well as anyone else who joins, from meeting in a safe place in order to speak and share information. Anything we see or hear. If we are to be proper allies in this war I think a free and open sharing of information is needed so we are all on the same page and know who is making what moves and planning what." It was the one thing which made sense right now, even as he tried to calm his stomach.
"With school coming to a finish in a few days time perhaps this coming weekend would be good for us to use as a meeting. In the evening. We can find an abandoned building in a run down part of the city or if that's not too your liking we could go for a park through the park at midnight, or a bit after, less chance of people and senshi." They needed to meet, to set up more meetings, and talk and help each other.
"If you can contact any others from your group perhaps it would be wise to do so. If you don't invite them than at least pass on what I've told you." Raindrops fell down his cheeks in some imitation of tears, the drops falling down his neck and under his clothing where it was absorbed by the cloth of his uniform.
"Are the members you mentioned seeing recently well trained? Or are they in need of training? It would seem with a lack of allies out and about that it would be prudent for them to be able to defend themselves, someone may not be around to help them should any find themself in a bad situation." Tapping his boot on the roof top as he glanced around them, thankful it was another quite night in Destiny despite the war going on. He didn't want anything interrupting this meeting or any over hearing them.

Meeting up with someone from the Negaverse while just an ordinary civilian was something Remarque had not entirely considered; a part of him wondered how strong the alliance between the two factions were and if it was worth taking the risk, though if Leto had deemed it a good idea, where was the harm? He might not have seen much of her in recent times, but that didn’t mean he didn’t still respect her as a leader and follow her example.
Not that Remarque had ever been very good at following anyone, but at least he was trying.
“Might be best to keep it a small meeting at first. Group of people gathering past midnight is bound to cause some suspicion if anyone’s poking around, but I’ll run through my contact list, see if anyone’s free for a late night rendezvous. Anything works, I think I’m basically free all weekend. There’s that old movie theatre that closed down a few years ago, it’s out of the way and pretty inconspicuous?” he suggested, though shrugged and then quickly drifted to Benitoite’s neck question. “So far as training…it’s hit or miss. Lesath has been doing so far, but Mimistrobell’s pretty new. She’s got drive, but I’m not sure if her execution is anything to brag about. Virtus…”
His voice drifted off and a slight grin grew on his face; he shook his head and let out a single laugh. “Well, you met him. He’s working on it. I tried to give him lessons, but I’m not sure that guy’ll ever really get the hang of fighting. Tried to tell him boxing might not be for him, but I don’t know who else to send him to for lessons. Apparently he's more of a healer than a fighter, but he'll be a sitting duck for as long as he can't defend himself--and I'm pretty sure the DMC doesn't have enough of us to make sure every time he goes out he's got a bodyguard.”

"I know the theater." He should have thought about it actually. He'd gone there once or twice as a child. It had been closed a long time and with the poor economy it didn't seem like it would be bought up any time soon, or torn down apparently. "We can meet there then, and so long as we are all quite and come in on our own rather than in a group." If they trickled in it shouldn't look too suspicious, one could hope at least.
"I don't plan for them to get larger than you and a few of your members, myself, and perhaps one more Negaverse member who needs as much training as Virtus." Bazzite. He liked the bouncy agent but he needed all the help he could get really, he didn't like the idea of Bazzite finding himself in over his head. He couldn't teleport and if Bazzite was out and no one else was...no the thoughts were not ones he wished to think on any further.
"Saturday night I think would be best, say five after midnight and being late is fine. Figuring I don't want to garner attention by people rushing to be on time or coming in all at the same time." A meeting but nothing too formal and structured. "The member I want to bring with me, at some point, is similar to Virtus but not. Lots of energy and a scattered mind. But loyal without a doubt." So long as he wouldn't ever have to kill, which with the new rules Bazzite was safe from ever being expected to do.
"We'll all work with Virtus, I agree that right now he is a sitting duck and from what I've seen - in general there is no way he can have a bodyguard every night. We'll find something he can learn, aside from boxing as you mentioned." And unlike that attempt at a book club this...defense and information club would work - it had to. He wouldn't allow it to fail.
((I think we should like pm people who own the mentioned characters, or aim them, run the idea by them and get them into it and rp out group things.::nods:: ))

Remarque nodded thoughtfully as he considered the offer; he didn’t imagine there was really much to consider. It sounded like a good plan, and he’d have felt more comfortable with Virtus being exposed to as many techniques as possible. Plus, Remarque wasn’t going to be against interacting with more Negaverse Agents; he had only met a handful, and considering how large the enemy was, meeting a few more allies sounded like the best plan.
“Sounds good to me,” he concluded. “I’ll shoot out a few messages, see if anyone is free.” At the very least, it seemed like it could be interesting—and maybe some of the newer members who hadn’t established or practiced some sort of fighting style could learn what they needed to in order to stay alive. “Do you have a lot of people like that in the Negaverse? Too much energy and lacking the ability to focus?” Not that he was about to judge anyone in the Negaverse, but it just so happened that Benitoite seemed to bet he most sane of the group. He’d met Howlite once; she hadn’t been like the others.
He’d had experiences, however, that left him doubting the Negaverse. Magnetite, Mesolite, Bazzite—all of which had left him questioning the Negaverse as allies. He’d been attacked by all three of them, and while the altercation was not particularly dangerous on his behalf, it had still thrown him for a loop at the time. “Or, have I just run into all the weird ones?”

"That sounds good, I'll talk with Bazzite as soon as I can." He knew the boy had a busy life, not a life he wished upon the pale blue haired agent, so he'd bring him along whenever he could. It might not be this weekend, likely it wouldn't be, but he would bring him. He needed to gain in confidence and ability...and spend as much energy as he could. The boy had far too much, not to say he was a bad person but he just...too much.
Shaking his head he smiled. "I once told a senshi, who decided to pass judgement on us all, I don't know about everyone. I've not met everyone so I can't speak for us all. I'm sure we have others with too much energy, and those who are weird, but I've only met one or two odd ones myself." A hand to his chest as he spoke that last word.
"It's like any group of people, you get a sampling of every possible personality. You've just had...bad luck?"

Remarque smiled at Benitoite’s words, however he had always been quick to pass judgment and had no intention of changing his methods. “Of course, so it would seem. I suppose all the diligent Negaverse Agents have just been out doing there job or keeping discrete. I’ve had a fair number downright attack me. Including,” he paused and sat up, seeming a bit amused. “Bazzite. And I assume you were the ‘Beni’ he was talking about. He spoke fondly of you when I ran into him. And, you’re right,” he said, biting his cheek thoughtfully.
“…He could probably use a lot of help. Is he doing all right? I haven’t seen him in a bit.”
Bazzite might have attacked him, but the boy was full of praise and kind words, and Remarque did always like to keep someone around to stroke his ego—even if they were completely hopeless and far too chatty.

"Bazzite...well I'm sure by seeing him you can tell he's well meaning, attacking you or not. I doubt he realized you were an ally, certain things escape him and he is an innocent - too innocent in my opinion. He needs training because of that." Biting his lip as he spoke of the other. Bazzite just saw a senshi and saw them all painted as space pirates, he'd work on that when he could Bazzite to meetings.
"He is...alright, though I don't like his civilian situation. It's nothing I can get involved in or will." At least not for now. Should something drastic happen he would, to protect the other from any mental harm which may come his way. "But yes, I would be the Beni he spoke of. Though you have perked my curiosity, what did he say of me?" While he didn't seek to have an ego stroked, his ego was quite healthy thank you very much, he did wonder what others thought of him simply to know where he stood with them.
