The good news was, the beach had given Jerry a good tan with minimal burning.
The bad news was, he was still a woman.
He had been frustrated to find out the breasts had stuck around over night, and after some terse words with Sasha, decided it was probably best for him to wear his own clothes.
At least the Island supplied a plentiful variety of coveralls. Any panicked questions to a Lifer generally resulted in it would wear off, just be patient, jeeze, b***h, so he had to assume things would... sort themselves out eventually.
He flexed his knee. He probably should go check in with Sunny about it... But it was feeling better than it had weeks before. Maybe he wouldn't have to. He hoped he wouldn't.
Either way, he needed to keep active, keep on his toes. Learn to better balance in battle. Maybe some target practice in the sparring grounds would help?

Candace was unsure of how to feel when she woke up the next morning and found her breasts were still too large. She groaned, looking for the best thing she could find that would fit. A tank top would have to do. Ugh. It was tiiiiight. This sucked so bad. She wanted her regular breasts back. A glance back at the bed behind her told her that...yes..Otto was still a girl.
Great.
Candaaaaaace. Atropos purred. I want to go out. Oh! Since we did so poorly yesterday let's train! Please, oh please! I'm so hungry. Candace blinked.
...Sure.
Putting on a pair of shorts to go with the tank top, Candace slipped her sneakers on and headed out with Atropos on hand. It was strange. Atropos didn't usually ask to train..huh.
She was stretching her arms high above her head with a yawn when she spotted someone else on the training field. If it hadn't been for the glasses and the scarring she wouldn't have realized who it was.
"...Jerry?"

He- or rather, she jumped. Her chest bounced with the motion under the gray onesy. "Oh uh!" immediately her face went red at the sight of not just another person joining him on the training field but that it was Candace, and her tiny shirt barely covered her- "Um. It seems things are still ah... " Smile quivering, she gestured to herself, looking positively embarrassed. "I talked to a Lifer, they said it er... should wear off. Or that they're working on it. I'm not sure, I got her... conflicting stories." The blush remained firm. Her voice... was Jerry-like, but softer, higher, and definitely feminine.
And looking suspiciously like she had been avoiding showering again.
"We were um. About to do some target practice."

Her eyes were drawn to the extra movement as Jerry jumped, her face as void of expression as she could manage as she watched the chest bouncing underneath the cover of the coveralls. She rubbed her lips together and forced herself to look at Jerry's face instead. She was kind of adorable as a girl, though there was the scarring...like a scarred up Velma from Scooby Doo, really. "..Life is full of trolls and assholes anyway. You know that." Probably better than most other trainees, really. She rubbed at her head, shaking it a little. It was throbbing, not terribly but enough to annoy her.
"Atropos was asking for some training, too." A pause. Candace tilted her head to one side, just watching Jerry for a long, quiet moment before clearing her throat. "I'll be your target if you want." A soft smile followed her offer, though it didn't reach her eyes. "I wouldn't be surprised if you've had a fantasy or two of shooting me up with Roar~. Besides, you and I have never had an honest spar before. I promise I won't knee you in the groin again." She would have said balls but Jerry currently lacked those.
Weeeeeeeeird.

She grimaced, paling a bit at the memory. "We... er... haven't really, have we? I'm not really in er... my best condition, ahaha..." She tossed her cane to the side, summoning Roar in a burst of light and a shifting of weight onto her good leg. "I don't know how girls do it, my back is killing me. I couldn't for the LIFE of me figure out how I'm supposed to SLEEP with them-" And Sasha had not been game to let her use her's as pillows.
At least not while she was still a girl.
She gave a frustrated huff.

"That's fine, I understand." Candace replied as she summoned Atropos as well, glancing at the cane that Jerry had just thrown aside. So she'd been right to worry about his leg when she heard squeaking. Damnit, Jerry.
At Jerry's complaints she laughed, cupping her own breasts with a little shrug. "Well, you remember when I would sleep over, right?" She chuckled, letting go of her chest to fix her top. "Sleep on your back, or on your side. I usually prefer to sleep on my side. I only sleep on my stomach if I have someone to use as a pillow." She shrugged a little, stretching her back a moment and then doing the same for her legs.
"Spooning is nice~. Especially when you're the one who gets to be held by the person behind you." Her grin returned, tapping her foot a little. "You look frustrated. Everything okay? Aside from, you know, being a chick.."

For a brief, estrogen induced moment, Jerry imagined large, warm arms enveloping him.
And then almost immediately, his imagination made sure it was Killzone's head attached to them out of mental spite.
She wobbled, looking dazed and miserable. "Yeah... er..." She shook her head violently, shaking the horrible thoughts away.
Right.
Sparring.
Yes.
"I'm er... better. Than I was. Last time we er... spoke at any length anyway, ahahaha."

Candace forced herself to smile as Jerry answered her. The last time they'd spoken at any length he'd kissed her and offered her sex then had some kind of nervous meltdown. Anything was probably better than that, really. "Well, that's good. The Insanity infection probably wasn't help either." She shrugged, rubbing the back of her neck. She could do this. It'd be okay. She was going to let go.
"And how are things with Sasha?" Candace bounced on her toes a little, looking ready to attempt to dodge any sudden blasts from Jerry. You can do this, Candace. You can have a conversation with Jerry without it ending with you wanting to cry or hit something, or both.

"The insanity infection..." Jerry murmured, shifting her grip on her weapon as she tried to figure out a good way to stand. How would they get started? Just start firing, he supposed... "Yeah that.. I was... already in a sort of bad place before the infection. I thought... I seriously thought I was going to snap. I think I did a little." He cleared his throat, "But I'm better now and that's what counts, right? Ahahaha."
As for Sasha... "Um. She er... m-made it clear she um. Wasn't interested in playing lesbians," He laughed again nervously.

"But I think... I think it's okay? I mean... we haven't really... I mean... I've been... my room was destroyed so I've been er... bunking with her, but um. I think... I think she's n-not really been in a good place lately. I don't know. I worry that um. I'm not... er..." He shook his head. Candace didn't want to hear about the woes of his inability to keep a concrete relationship.
"You ready? Here I come!" He announced, swinging Roar up before pulling the trigger.

Her smile became fairly guilty as he mentioned not being in a good place. She couldn't help but feel she was partly to blame for that, because she probably was. No, don't think about that. You're moving on. This was okay. It was time to move on. Candace cleared her throat. "I did a little, too. It...wasn't pretty. But I feel better now after doing it. I'm glad you're better. That's all anyone can ask, right? One step at a time~." Progress. Start with baby steps.
At Jerry's lament about Sasha not wanting to play lesbians Candace wasn't quick enough to stop her own laughter, her hands flying to her mouth as she tried to muffle it. Poor Jerry! Haha! Oh god. It'd been awhile since she.. 'played lesbians'. Christmas didn't count, that had just been a kiss. She was quick to calm down, sighing deeply. "Your room? Aw, man..like...everything?" She frowned. "I lost a few things. Some shoes I really liked...uhhh..a picture frame..." She pouted, grumbling. "My bear..." She was saddest about that. She liked that bear a lot, it was nice to hug when she was sleeping by herself and feeling alone.
She thought nothing of 'Jerry's inability to keep a concrete relationship'. This was an awkward time. Candace could imagine the two of them would have trouble as well were they still together. "Give her time. She'll be okay." She assured him gently, smiling again. "Just be supportive and try to help her without being...ah..overbearing? Don't stress yourself out. You'll give yourself gray hairs." Candace was teasing. Stop frowning, Jerry. She doesn't like it.
At his warning she nodded, bracing herself for the blast. It wasn't as intense as she was expecting for a first shot, though it did hurt her chest a little. Stupid breasts. Go back to your normal size already. "Not bad~! Here I come!"
Candace ducked low, running at Jerry as quickly as she could. She aimed for his side first. Normally the leg would be her first strike but...not Jerry. She was not going to hurt him worse than he already was for a simple spar.

"N-not everything, but... well.... my guitar is safe-" For a moment, she hesitated at the mention that the bear had been destroyed. That was a shame... it had been a silly gift but, he liked how much she had been amused by it... "And I found some tape for... for my post-" Suddenly she was on him, and he didn't have time to fire as her blade hit her side, staggering away as she swung Roar up to try to bash her away.

The guitar was safe. Jerry was safe. Her smile softened. "I really am glad you still love the guitar." She commented as she tried to duck out of the way of the bazooka before it could be used to strike at her. Tape for his post? His...awww! "Your poster? Aw, Jerry. That sucks! How bad is it?"
The bazooka hit her and she let herself fall to the ground, rolling in a backwards somersault to hop to her feet again. She was on him again, this time moving herself away by throwing herself back onto her hands again and kicking up her legs. It wasn't a hard hit, she seemed to be holding back. Candace didn't want to hurt him. This was fun, there was no need to get carried away.

It was certainly friendlier than their last spar. Stumbling a little from the light blow once again, she was even starting to relax a little- something Candace hadn't seen in him in a long time, "It's alright, though... it's... it feels almost nice just... purging it all. Most of it can be replaced." He smiled softly, "It... the guitar... really was um. The nicest thing anyone's ever gotten me before. It... it was something I really needed. I got a ukulele at the beach by the way!" His face lit up, and Roar's short just barely skimmed her.
Oh my jackin'- is this a spar or a ghouliechitchatparty?

She did like that Jerry was relaxed. It was nice to hang out again and just talk.
Or, well, talk and spar.
"If that's how you feel, then perhaps it was for the best after all." Candace smiled. She wouldn't be able to handle losing so many material possessions too well. They were things, but they were her things. But she had told Otto things could be replaced, a person couldn't...
Candace's cheeks suddenly flushed hotly as Jerry reminded her how he felt about the guitar. "You're welcome." She chuckled, feeling stupid for blushing. She was glad the guitar still made him happy. It wasn't the guitar that had been bad, it didn't deserve to be hated just because of her. Though she laughed at the news he'd gotten a second instrument. "Next you'll be saying you found a piano! How'd you get your hands on a ukulele?"
She had been turning to jab him in he stomach with her elbow when the bazooka got her in the shoulder and sent her forward. Candace let out a cry of surprise, flailing a bit and trying to get herself. Unfortunately she failed, her leg kicked out in her panic and Atropos' blade caught the back of Jerry's leg. As she fell to the ground it pulled his leg out from under him. Hopefully he would catch himself. She really hoped..
"s**t!" Candace rolled over and scrambled to her feet, eyes wide. "Shitshitshit Jerry I am so sorry! Are you okay?!"
