Roll a Seven: Forest Field: Thick trees, some small while others greatly exceed double your own height, sprout at random places throughout the field. Giant roots provide easy excuses for pokemon to trip if they do not watch where they are going. Spacing between the trunks vary, making passage difficult for those on the ground and in the air. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to BUG and GRASS type attacks.This field also reduces damage from FLYING type attacks by 25 HP.

Mephistopheles floated through the forest as Lenore sat with her face buried in a book. The duskull kept a silent vigil for his opponent.

Alexa hadn't been too keen on battling right after losing another gym leader challenge. Her spirits were at an all time low and the only reason she agreed was because her pokemon seemed so interested in battling. She sent out Vincent and made her way to her trainer box.
Vincent knew how depresses his trainer was and was hoping that a good battle would bring her spirits back up. Spotting the ghost pokemon he barked a greeting.

Mephistopheles gave a sweeping bow to the approaching Arcanine. "Greetings. I am Mephistopheles, but you may call me Mephisto. I shall be your opponent today. Good luck."
An orb of darkness appeared before him, firing off at the arcanine.

Vincent nodded his head at the Duskull. "I'm Vincent! And good luck!" He called out before getting hit with the ball of darkness. His fangs began to flow red and he lunged trying to bite the ghost.

The flames seared Mephistopheles as the arcanine bit down, but he phased out of it's grip. Retreating back a couple of yards, the duskull launched another shadow ball.

Vincent was hit with the shadow ball and actually moved a little bit. He growled at the other pokemon before lunging again. This time his fangs didn't glow. Time to hit the ghost where it really hurt.

Mephistopheles phased out, allowing the arcanine to pass harmlessly through him. Phasing back in, he shot another shadow ball.

Vincent passed right on through Mephisto and was so amazed that he didn't dodge the oncoming attack. "How did you do that?!" He asked before remembering they were in the middle of a battle. He again tried to use crunch hoping to actually hit his opponent.

As the arcanine passed through his body yet again, Mephistopheles responded, "It's a rudimentary technique known by most ghost pokemon. We fade into the ghost world for a short time, becoming intangible in the material world. However, just as you cannot harm us while we are there, neither can we harm you." As he faded back in, tendrils of shadow emerged before him to serve as a shield.

Vincent listened intently thinking about how cool that was. In fact he thought it was so cool he couldn't help but howl about it. As it was the howling made him feel better for missing two times in a row.

With his spirits up Vincent didn't care that he wasn't able to use howl any more. Instead he charged towards Mephisto his mouth open ready to bite down hard.
