Chapter one

"C'mon Shane, let's get back to my place, I thought I just saw something move behind that garbage can!" I whined as my friend Shane's head popped out from inside one of the dumpsters,
"No! I still haven't found my camera!" He said back.
Shane and I had been trying to find his camera for at least five hours, he had lost it at the time of the track meet this afternoon when he was asked to film the eight-hundred meter, he backed up to where we are now to get a better view and he tripped over a recycling bin and dropped it. He had to go to the school nurse because he got pretty beat up.
I was in the 800 meter when it happened, after I was done I ran down to the nurses office to meet him. All he could think of was his camera, "My camera... I left it..." He mumbled as the nurse put an Ice back to his forehead where he had a bump the size of a hippo, like I said, he got pretty beat up.
"I'll go get it for you," I said, "Where is it?"
"Dumpster..." It was all he could make out before he went into a series of screams of pain and sadness. That kid is crazy about his camera.
I sped over to the dumpster near the track field. I looked in the dumpsters and around them. When I came back to tell him I couldn't find it, He was absolutely devastated.
"I have to find that camera!" he whined, "It has all the footage of my new sci-fi movie!" If you haven't heard of his movies, they are AWESOME! And I'm not just saying that because he's my best friend, his movies are better than a lot of the profesional made ones, they're like blockbuster good.
He's made all types of movies, from adventure to romance to documentaries. He even made one in Spanish! He asked me to star in it, but first of all I don't speak Spanish, second I don't act. It actually turned out really good, you know after he put in subtitles.
Anyways, He limped out of the nurse's office all battered and bruised with me following behind. Very slowly we made it over to the dumpsters and looked around for hours and hours. We decided to have a sleepover that night and here we are, 12:00 at night looking through the school dumpsters.
Shane hopped out of the dumpster obviously felling better leaned on the edge of a trash can and started to cry.
"Aw come one buddy," I said trying to cheer him up as I sat down beside him, "You can always buy a new camera, a BETTER one. I'll even chip in to help out my best bud-" Shane jumped up and glared at me the way a lion would glare at it's next prey,
"You don't understand Will!" He shouted "That camera was like my baby! You can't just let your own baby slip away!" He started to walk around looking for the camera.
"Wait!" I yelled after him.
"No!" He shot back "Just go home! I can find my baby -Cough- camera myself!" and with that he jumped into the dumpster for the nineteenth time tonight.
I was just about to turn and go home and leave Shane to his crying when a red light flashed all around us. Shane's head popped out from inside the dumpster yet again, "What was that?" He asked.
